Is the Superlight 2 a Waste of Money?

After years of waiting, the Superlight 2 is finally here.
There have definitely been some improvements under the hood - but has Logitech done enough for anyone to actually go out and buy one?

    • 100% incorrect. The side switches may be the same original pieces but they’re more solid, the switches are much much more responsive especially for fps games. The 60 gram mark is absolutely perfect for me. 2k sensor feels so much more responsive. It’s a hugeee upgrade if you’re actually competitive and care about the feeling and responsiveness of your mouse. It’s a much better experience for people who play very competitively.

There's something that feels good about to superlight 2 shape for me. I'm also on a glass skypad so the slow stock skates don't really affect me. I perform good with all my mouse really it just comes down to shape preference I'd say. I really rarely notice a different between 1k and 2k polling.

  • The shape would have been so much better if they add deeper comfort grove or narrow indent side and it would actually fit 99% of people, Razer and some other companies have been doing X&Y for years(no one use it tbh), the best mouse feet design was on the old g pro wireless and the mouse feet is the worst mouse feet on a premium mouse even worst than g wolves but I actually like the fact it can do 2000hz with just a normal dongle and trust me no one can see a different between 2k and 4Khz The switches now need much more force to press in and the side buttons didn’t change so I would recommend the gpx1 over 2 (Main htx ace)

  • Idk what the big deal is. The biggest issue imo was the double clicking. If they can fix that and scroll wheel issues that appear after a few years of bhopping in cs (which is why mine broke) I think this is a great upgrade. The design is timeless. And if we’re being honest most people are going to get aftermarket mouse skates anyways. Honestly I never had a problem with the mouse feet but thats just me. What more can we ask for. I think small changes are realistically what we can expect from a mouse that is near perfect

But what OP wrote is correct, timeless design and with a near perfect mouse (I used the OG superlight for 2 years so far) it's hard to imagine them changing the whole thing and making a completely different mouse

The buttons are satisfying to click, it operates smoothly, great battery life ( wireless ftw ) , feels very good in my hand, and so on and so forth. • this is true but a good mouse for you does wonders and this is what the job of a reviewer is it's to help choose which will be best for you both money wise and playstyle wise. Almost any mouse will be good nowadays but the reason reviewers complain about 2k and not 4k is bc 4k is better and they want the product to be at the best it could possibly be, sure you can play well with 2k and 1k but a top of the line brand should have atleast 4k by now (considering every other brand is going for it and they're already a year late) and bc they use almost everything on the market they're able to say where certain mice are better or which one feels better in x department. Shape is the most important thing though so the mouse being 2k or 4k shouldn't be your main thing but most of the g pro x 2 hate is just it's a good mouse but could be better for the price bc of the long wait and the fact that the superlight 1 already exists which still holds its own against 4k mice so the 2 isn't really a good purchase unless you dont have a superlight 1. Reviewers are trying to get the most bang for your buck and the best mouse for you in your hands they care mostly about how the mouse compares and not if it would be usable since almost every mouse is atleast usable even at the top level nowadays

      @jerryyy.@jerryyy.7 ай бұрын
    • what you said is literally just common sense though. good players can make the most out of anything but they want to optimize their strengths by choosing what's best for them. most reviewers always say that shape is king, but that doesn't mean that reviewers won't be objective in their thoughts about a certain device. these videos are made for consumers and consumers want what's worth their money and what they should expect upon purchasing a product.

  • GPX2 : Clicks are too loud and stiff, wheel had a creaking qc issue. This mouse has so many issues: Bad optical switch implementation, the mushy side buttons, the light scroll wheel, garbage skates and cheap rubber cable. It's not worth the price to me.

  • I recently gave my GPX1 to my kid and bought the GPX2 and really like it. The shape is perfect and the switches are really nice too. As for the sensor and all that, I can't tell a difference. I don't care about 4K and still keep mine on 1K and I couldn't care less about USB-C vs micro-USB. I do think $160 is a ridiculous price for these but I do love this thing and it is my new all time favorite gaming mouse.

    @Stingera@Stingera5 ай бұрын
    • I can't speak to the longevity of the GPX-SL2 yet, but I dropped Razer after having gone through 5 mice in around 10 years. I have consistently suffered issues with their mice click outright failing on me, and connectivity issues on my last Razer product just finally pushed me over the edge. Picked up a GPX-SL2 on Sunday, if it lasts 3-4 years it will have been well worth it IMO. The stats for my Razer products - DeathAdder 2014 - Back Button Clicked in one day and would never click back out (2 Years) DeathAdder 2016 - Main Mouse Click began missing clicks (2 Years) DeathAdder 2018 - USB connection became intermittent (3 Years) NagaHex V2 2021 - USB connection completely failed (2 Years) Basalisk Pro 2023 - Wake from sleep took up to 1 minute intermittently, Battery would require reseating intermittently to reconnect to PC (9 months) Razer makes some comfortable mice, but their track record IMHO for building a product that lasts... Well, let's just see if Logitech can do better. I also really appreciate that the GPX-SL2 looks like a mouse and not some bizarre spaceship. It looks like it could belong on the main stage of a pro tournament, or in the office, ready to crank out some high intensity spreadsheets.

    • Do you mean Deathadder V3, the direct competitor of GPX2? Many players rate them similarly, in the end, it was down to which shape fits their palms better. I'd go for a GPX2. The shape suits me better. Additionally, I have a policy to stay away from companies that market many gimmick features. In this case, Deathadder V3's excessive high polling rate. Of course, you can turn it off. But the real problem is that, companies do that usually come with hidden issues. The loud marketing serves as a distraction.

    • @@zanemcmorris4541 For a mouse USB-C means one thing over USB Micro, Longevity. The GPX-SL2 having a USB-C means it will survive FAR more plug and unplug cycles than a USB Micro connection. That honestly seems to be the major theme for this mouse. Optical Switches = Longer Product Life, USB-C = Longer Product Life, the only change they made that isn't going to result directly in the mouse lasting longer is the sensor, which will still indirectly contribute to a longer use since it is still better hardware with more modern (if not current) specs.

  • It's so weird to me hearing everyone saying that this mouse release is "mid" when the original GPX-SL was considered the gold standard. All of the complaints about the original were related to 3 things. No USB-C, double clicking from wear on the switches, and 1k polling. The GPX-SL2 has literally fixed all of these, and while it lacks 4k+ on the poling it is also looking like, with more and more testing being done, that consistently 4k+ poling is just marketing at the moment. The difference is almost negligible, and it can cause consistency issues for low to mid tier hardware. I could understand if you have a GPX-SL that works, looking at this and saying "nah not worth upgrading right now", but I also think if you are the type of person who either values a universal connector, or who loved their GPX-SL and is starting to suffer from double click issues, this is a no brainier upgrade. I just don't think it makes sense to look a the original, call it the gold standard, receive an objective upgrade to the platform in all of the places where the original was lacking, and then say it is only an okay mouse. (Not that this review did that exactly, but it seems to be a pretty consistent sentiment online right now.)
