GOOD MORNING AMERICA'S HOMEPAGE:
gma.yahoo.com/
The benefits of being good looking: People will run across the street to offer you a job.
pfffff :)
bunnie faerie fg
Thats true, indeed (and they say looks don't matter)
+bunnie faerie you're not ugly tbh
bunnie faerie bihhh you aint ugly
Step 1: be handsome. Step 2: wander around NYC.
Whole Food Plant-Based Man 😂
*handsome and white and cis
😂😂
First of all, gotta be tall to be easily seen
Don't forget be white
That guy needs a new agent.
I was going to say! He needs a better agent to supply jobs!
Don't Usually Comment he also need a new job
CALife it’s not the agent it’s the male industry
this guy was on the cover of vogue italia, one of the most prestigious fashion magazines ever, and he didn't earn a single penny from it?!
+Charlene Tan ridiculous
+Charlene Tan Models rarely get paid for doing editorials. The main reason models do it is to get their name out there and they get to work with the most prestigious photographers and other well known models. It helps you build your own brand.
+Charlene Tan watch the whole series of unglamorous and you will understand why
+Charlene Tan Fuck Vogue Italia!!! thats bs
Yeah like the person said, on average you don't get money for editorials, covers, or runway - it's almost as a favor to you really, because you get exposure which in turn gets you more work. So they can use that as incentive not to pay. What models make money from is campaigns (billboards and ads, being the 'face' of a company for a few months) Ironically though, the cheaper brands pay big time. So Chanel, Dior, Hugo Boss, etc might look prestigious and all, but the girls/guys doing Maybelline, H&M, Guess, Gap, Levi's - that's where the money's at
Judging by his background and his personality, he seems very humble and it would be great to see him earn what makes him happy.
“I’m in debt all around the world. All I’d gained is life experience.” Sounds like the same outcome of getting a college degree these days.
lol
It depends what college degree you earn Sir.
@@estellacoggins715 most, unless you get a field in stem college puts most people and debt. The average American is still paying off their loans for college
I got contacted by a modeling agency 2 years ago. I'm from Belgium and they were located in the Netherlands so they invited me over and said that they would pay for the night. I was a bit sceptical but after researching the agency, I decided to just go for it. From the minute I said foot in their headquarters, I felt intimidated and unwelcomed by their cold (but pretty) receptionists. The booker who contacted me acted charming but I could tell how fake she was. We had a little conversation before heading upstairs to begin my first shoot. It was absolutely horrible. The photographer didn't seem satisfied. Ever. I really tried my best to pose like a model but it was never good enough. I saw him sigh of frustration multiple times lol. 2 big ass spots were aimed at me and I could hardly focus on the camera while there were 5 other people staring at me the whole fucking time. Besides the posing commands, it was quiet as fuck as well. I felt insanely stressed out and was sweating my balls off. The shoot only lasted an hour but it felt like an eternity. In hindsight, it really was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had. Afterwards, I went to the shitty hotel they arranged for me and bawled my eyes out. I normally never cry (I practise karate and box regularly so I'm used to a lot) but that night I felt extremely lonely and like a failure. I took the train the next day and promised myself to never do any modeling again and stay away from that fake, superficial world
Close your Heart to their Pain.
Lies again? Male Model Store USD SGD
they need to close the wage gap!!!!
they are doing the same job!!!!
the patriarchy!!!!!
you weren't listening we're you ? there's more brands for female compared to brands that accommodate males hence why there is higher demand for female models and then follows higher pay due to said higher demands so unless in a few years more and more companies start to focus more on male merchandises male model fee's is not going to go up.
granknight you're just a mysogynist pig
Flamingo Bill wow where did that come from? i just told you it's about demands and supply and how the current fashion trend is and now im a misogynist pig? seriously dude you need to get yourself check out your totally wack out.
Very true. I modelled with a guy in one of the top fashion capitals who nearly went bankrupt working as a model. Not only that, but he also dealt with a lot of sexual harassment mostly from male photographers. He eventually went back to being a mechanic. Both female and male models in general do not have it easy. There should be a union like in acting.
and feminists never talk about males having a wage gap as well lol
Okay, well women athletes just can't expect to make the same as male athletes. I mean women just don't watch sports as much as males.
Yeah, but feminists do speak about female athletes. Thats the difference.
Vainy Vic I think those two things have nothing to do with each other...
I’m a feminist and I think they should have more men in this field and they should be paid equally. But it’s probably not talked about more because this is one of the few fields that women actually dominate. And it’s not even a decision making job. In most other job fields men will dominate the high ranking positions and the jobs in general.
Patricia Albornoz actually women dominate many fields, saying “few fields women dominate” is actually incorrect. Of course, men do dominate more fields than women due to more men working than women, but there are quite a few fields that women make more money than men.
oh the wage gap is real after all...
ArabPeace In other news, men are still insecure fragile misogynists.
ksanchez979 triggered feminist spotted
ArabPeace they're talking about women in general, since the majority are not being recognized for their efforts, not one specific job. Don't be silly
these men ar not recognized for their efforts
the male model industryhas way less consumers -because of gender roles- . That´s whythey get paid less
These agents are predators.
Why do you think they are predators? The market determines male models' value, not the agent. Watch the video.
I demand equality for male models!
so much for the income gap hey ladies
Really hope that Cameron makes it. And if the modeling thing doesn't work out, then maybe acting???
Yeah and be stupid. Because a man had to be stupid to agree to work and not paid
So basically be fair skinned and have strong Eurocentric features
Demetrius Davis tons of companies are wanting black and darker-skinned models now, it's a better image for them
not only blacks, they want fat people now also
... because the white race is superior in every aspect, ... everbody knows that only a few dare to speak it out
I don't see any problem with that, everybody have their own beauty
@max - only other white supremacists think that
who needs money when you got good looks.
Mmm, i rather be a ugly fat billionaire than a handsome beautiful man who's homeless
@@thedestroller5921 Except handsome guys never end up homeless. Society treats good-looking people better.
I've worked in the fashion photography industry and let me tell you, the only people getting paid is the actual magazines from their advertisers and the modeling agencies who hire out the models. The models, hairstylists, makeup artist' and photographers get peanuts if anything at all. All the magazines offer is 'exposure', hence they get free work from everyone and publish that work next to pages filled with advertising. And, more and more they rely on amateurs that are dying to get in the magazine and therefore are more susceptible to getting conned by the magazines into doing it for free with the promise of fame and fortune. No other field is this more prevalent than in the fashion industry. Less than 1% actually make andy kind of money to make a living off of. The magazines, modeling agencies and an extremely small amount of models scattered around the world are the only ones that make the real money. Everyone else is doing it for free or little to nothing at all. And, every day, little Billy and little JoAnne are being signed to modeling agencies at 12-15 years old, being told they'll be on the next cover of Vogue. Meanwhile, soccer mom watches a few KZhead videos and buys a $2000 DSLR with a $1500 lens and thinks she's the next Annie Leibowitz. And, hairstylist's and MUA's are spending all their part time job money on the latest brushes and hairblowers just to compete. As you can see in this video, most models go into HUGE debt with these agencies who promise to get them paid work on a regular basis but, ultimately they walk away with nothing,.....even after being on the international cover of Vogue Magazine. Bitter? No, not at all,... just wiser.
And then women complain about payment inequality in sports. Pssh!
Ms Rana not all men play sports stupid wtf 😂😂
Still men generally make more money than woman. But truth be told, modeling and fashion sure is a more female business
But they're right .. Sports ppl get waaay too much
Yami Latias and sports is more of a men’s thing
Exactly . Women’s will never produce as much money on sports as guys do and mens will never produce as much money as girls do in modeling something are not feminists thats just the situation in different fields . Not everything is feminist.
I don't think vogue pays female models either. Ads and catalogs and stuff like victoria's secrets are where it's at. Models on vogue are there to build a reputation. And there's obviously much less demand for male models because men tend not to care much about fashion.
You have no idea how many times had those female models slept with directors in order to get the job
You do?
Xentrolis that's the inside rule of this society
I got a job when I was a teen as a model in Chicago, I did some covers for local magazine and I was on my way to school, when the lady asked me and i was like you have to talk to my uncle for permission... but I stopped cuz it is very stressful, tiring, it's hard to find more agencies after you are done working with one. Then I got a surgery done because I was working out and I got a hernia lol, so I got a scar in my tummy and the business cut me off from work cuz of that. And I'm okay now go to school and working on a career.
thanks for the video!
So Jennifer Lawrence...What do you have to say about this ??
No feminist outrage here, hmmm, aren't they suppose to fight for equal pay for both women and men? Oh right... I forgot. Feminism is actually achieving equality of both genders, by focusing on one of them. Silly me.
Arin I I've seen several angry comments...
Arin I bc male model aren't in demand u dumbfuck just like women's soccer, not enough people watch it not enough profit coming in as compared to men's soccer
Yoana Sucks No shit, my point exactly.
5 jobs in the world where women make more than men, compared to decades and millions of jobs where men make more than women. Ok!
But who decide male and female model pay? It is the male boss.
So basically their volunteers? How is that legal to make money off a man and not pay him? Vouge Italia though? I would've sued and found another career path.
You get a cover for Vogue Italia, male or female, do not get paid. It's a promotion for yourself. They get into it knowing that they will not get paid.
'did you ever think there's more to life than just being really really really ridiculously good looking?'
biddycy If it's your job then it's quite important, of course it's not everything but no reason to not appreciate it.
'Are you here to tell me what a bad eugoogoolizer I am?'
Where is the equal rights on men, you want equal rights on everything but we don't either.
female models get paid more because the fashion industry is more popular among women, male soccer/football/hockey players get paid more because more people are interested in their games than womens sports... its the industry, not sexism
yes but feminists cry all day long about how men get paid more in some job, but we dont see any feminist jumping in here trying to right this wrong. feminists want privilege, not equality
just shut up and evolve
It's not that the female gets paid more but rather there are more modelling jobs for women. Females are the top buyer of fashion items. So the industry tries to gear everything towards them. That includes having mostly female models.
No, it's because women's fashion is a much larger and more profitable industry than men's fashion.
Look at that wage gap feminists!
Wow being a woman myself , this is not fair at all , gender equality has such a long route to go!!!
Just treat modeling as side career not as a full blown job if you dont wanna to get depressed later in life...
The guy who dreamed of becoming a model is wallowing in debt. The guy who didn't even think of going into the industry is now a famous model. Life.
my entire modeling career was unpaid. my entire dance career was unpaid. I mean, they paid my expenses and food, but I actually never held money in my hand and I did huge runway shows and wore ridiculously expensive clothes. I got out when they wanted to have sex with me. of course they didn't mention this.
U weren't no male model mate.
Looks like all feminists quiet on closing this wage gap
That's not true, there are women in the fashion industry genuinely concerned about this. But much of the industry is still owned/funded/controlled by old people (most of them men, surprise!) who are still doing things the old way, and don't see much money in men's fashion.
So you just have to be tall, jawline, and nice hair to be a model
haha omg that dude at the end is tall, attractive and slim and they still say " he has to lose some weight" - what a fucked up industry
to chisel jaw as much as possible
Nah, he really wasn't that slim..
Brennan Donavan lol I know so fucked up!
EQUALITY
I was scouted three times, all within half a year of each other, when I was 15 (2-3 years ago). None of them hired me, maybe because I wasn't talented at modeling, but most likely because I was too tall. Back then I was already six five, now I am nearly six eight. I often wonder what my life would look like had I become a model.
Basketball plan B?
Thank you for opening my mind... I understand now.
He could move to a $700-$900/month apartment, and save a lot of money. Also he can't simply be successful as a model by working very little and doing no work. Some of the more successful models in this interview obviously are smarter than him and know how to use their other strengths to find opportunities that actually pay.
I really need to attend more music festivals
Moist Girth so brutally honest
Lmao, you made him change his profile pic
Watching this to try to understand what a couple of my mates in the business go through. They should be equally compensated for the work they do.
Im walking down the street , someone called me from other side said I still her bag . Shit happen
Wait wait... I didn't know that Pedro Andrade was part of an American TV show 😮 Representing Brazil very well 👏
That blink effect at 3:37 creep me out
That happened to me, i was walking aoutside a 7-eleven when a werid guy came to me and asked if i was into modeling. i replied: ''No, why?'' then he gave me his card, he was the founder of the best model agencys in guadalajara - Mexico (Where i currently ive in) and i know, it's not New York or France but now i'm making a well living and i'm about to drop off school
OMG, so I was walking in NY the other day, own in my own business and this from the video was walking to me, with this particular expression, looked directly to my eyes and I knew she was going to say something to me and suddenly she said "can you move? you are blocking the door or the store"
Definitely shows some aspects of the model industry!
Oh shit Barrow County? I wasn't expecting that.
Wow working so hard and $10,000 in debt. That is awful. He's just trying to land some sort of ad campaign so he can start actually making money for a change. That's dedication.
2:52 resident evil 4 merchant on background!
not every woman model is paid that extensively, its the same situation for both men and woman.
Is that a smite badge I see on his hat?!?! Fucking dope man
TristonGats I noticed that too, yea it was smite's old clothes brand
#GenderEquality
Insightful informative and most importantly projected by a professional publication network guaranteed!♂️✈️
Clark Bockelman is so handsome. Glad he made it
That anchorman looks like he got his hair from a lego man...
+Tetopp Looks like someone have it a coarse sanding too
First thing u need to buy: a good looking face
Liel Flamingo skin too
Liel Flamingo Check, what's next?
Whatever happened to the model at the end of the video, Max King? Tried searching him up on modelmayhem but I found nothing. I take it he never made it? :(
the last one was a complete ashton kutcher look alike thats why he is lucky
why short guys with good looking can't be a model in runways not all guys are 6 feet or taller
Gosha Rubchinskiy's models don't look so tall
NO excuse for guys to be under 6ft. Hit the gym fatass
It Aint Hard to Tell Did you study a single hour in your meaningless life?
It Aint Hard to Tell the human height mainly affects by Genes , no one can control his or her height
Male models have to be tall, Mostly because the clothes look better i think
I've been watching videos all day about the ugly truths in the career of a male model, and it almost scared me away from the path. But I'm gonna have to take the risk, as I believe I can make it in this industry. And I hope other aspiring models like myself achieve great things.
How's it going
@@andrassbb bad
is it any better now?
pedro's amazon show is sooo goood
good documentation .......
Look at this pay gap! Smash the matriarchy. . . . that's how it sounds to normal people
One person soaks up all the wealth, the vast majority make next to nothing. That's called the illusion of meritocracy folks. Luck has a whole lot to do with it. You think our system is fair you're deluding yourself.
Nice, he represents GA! Good luck Cameron........
They really don’t make much. I dated one and he simply worked as a UPS driver. But I seen his past work when he was 19, walking the runway of Lacoste amongst others, and now he’s a 33 years old UPS driver who still looks great but he even knew that he no longer had youth to work like that.
damn yo, you got to struggle to get where you want to be. don't give up guys. promote yourself.
my dream gone just like that 😢
ola ola thank God, now you can move onto something you'd actually enjoy and be productive
“Follow your dreams” they said “it’ll be great” they said .
Largely in part to the greedy agents! It's all a scam! The models apartment fees (ridiculous!), plus the enormous amount of costs for the agency handling the model is outrageous. I've been there. There are a handful of male models who do well, if they hit a big Advertising campaign, or are working catalog models, but it's rare, and especially now that the market is saturated.
" I thought it was easy money, doing nothing"..SMH. Hope he's doing better now with an actual job that requires skill.
Anyone know pietro boselli
Connor Collins lol now he’s famous af
Thanks for the news, Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Yo, I'm 16 6'0 72 kg I've been going to the gym for a while I would like to start at the age of 18 Do you guys think this is good?
The male models I know and have seen, even many female models,... they do not look very special but they have the height. There are plenty of super looking people who are short too.
***** Then you are dumb as fuck. You think only people who are 6ft tall are beautiful?
Leon didnt u just see this segment? these guys have much better facial features than the average guy
obi_the_president dude having facial features THEY think you need for being a model does NOT mean that you are actually great looking. Like this guy... he looks very very normal even ugly but he got the height and body and the face for doing what he do. It works anyway. Now imagine the same face and body but 5.6" tall. He would NEVER be the same model and get the same hype and jobs like a 6ft. Thats the brutal truth in this business. So much for "features"
Leon lol u sound like a triggered manlet
obi_the_president at least give me an intelligent reply. No instead you gave me a very stupid one saying they got the "features" As far as I know there are measurements of a good looking face but you don´t need to measure a good looking face since.all you have to do is looking at one. I see a ton of ugly models but they are model mostly because they got the size. If you got a good makeup artist and good stylist... pretty much anyone could be a model.
Someone need to address this gender wage gap!
jungenbum noone needs to do anything, thats normal, its the same thing on jobs where man are paid more
Why do you think videos like these are made...? It's to show the discrepancy between genders in the modeling industry so it can be adressed.
Kaoskadosk There's nothing to fucking address though
No one will listen because the inequality benefits women
She said looking for people 6’ to 6’ 3” and i’m over here in the 5’ 8” club
I feel you
I still don't feel sorry for them
We men must demand "equal job equal pay"!!!
I totally agree and I am a woman
Well spotted! Yes, it is probably much more difficult to get paid good money if one grew up in a trailer park than if one is a NYU student or a university of Denver student. Those dudes are from different social classes, it seems. And for some of them becoming models will be easier than for the others. Social mobility in the US is not that great.
I keep thinking "Blue Steel" when I look at these guys posing for photos
i look good and people try to capture me in thier pokeball, im tired of being treated like a peice of meat....
It's not really a high cost factor, this guy is just financially reckless, he should start by finding a cheaper apartment.
They already showed that he is sleeping on a bed in a tiny apartment with several others. NYC is expensive.
His apartment was huge, he could look somewhere a bit further and commute.
Sorry dude but you got no idea of this business as I see. Your not the one who really chooses where to stay. Its the agency which does that. And if you get send in a city you have over 20-30 castings a day. No fucking time to search for a cosy, comute and cheap appartment. You need to be central and reach the adress your given fast.
Mads Mikkelsen Sometimes you have to live in a cheap dump of an apartment, dude. If he doesn't like his agency apply for another. This guy wants to have a sulk at how bad he has it, he has so much freedom to make change in his life.
I get you dude and I would do the same. But the model business doesnt work that way. If your not in an agency you dont get a job. So first you need the agency. The agency then sends you somewhere and places all the models at one apartment and let them pay it back when they earned money. Theres no choosing.
wow really got sense of modelling industry no so glamor as i thought
I agree. Simple economics, supply and demand. It's the same with women and sports, they don't tend to earn as much because people don't watch them as much and hence companies don't sponsor them as much.
I think I could be a model if I got in shape and shit, but you know...it is hard to tell what you would look like if you lost weight. I could still look average. Oh well.
***** Lmao I will for sure!
they all do look average in person, they only look superb after makeup upon makeup and then photoshop lol.
For being a model he doesn't know how to dress
Tommy Keogh being aesthetically pleasing does not equate to having an exquisite sense of fashion.
Tommy Keogh Well, models don't choose the clothes they wear when they shoot, I've seen lots of models who actually have no sense of fashion at all, but at the end I guess it's about using something that makes you feel comfortable
The reporter really knows what he is doing because he used to be a model. Thank god he decided to change his career.
Modeling is a profession wherein Physical beauty is not must but having a beautiful face is necessary. A man or a woman needs not to extremely beautiful & exceptionally handsome. What is needed most is attitude, character & most specially a beauty from within. May the male modeling industry flourish more in success ! ROM(a Model):-)
Don't talk like you know shit

oh no poor me i only made $1.5 million
MapleLeafGaming You know that's only the top models they listed right? With high price shitty apartments and who knows whatever living expenses needed in their lives, the middle status models make shit.
Have you seen all of the actors/musicians that started out as models? The reasons listed in the video are why they used modeling as a way to get their name out there and meet people they would never have been able to.
He seems really smart, like he could just easily do anything other than modeling. Bruh if I was that good-looking, I would never consider being a model. Ima be all over the music industry like JB.
THIS IS SEXISM! TALK ABOUT WAGE INEQUALITY.
you can find a room for $800.
harlem
i dont think ill ever be not baffled cause theyre just ordinary people but they're genetically blessed in the eyes of beauty standards
From What I've heard from someone who was had a massive career in professional modelling. The top male model earns over $600,000 a year. And the top female model earns over 6 Million..
