Who said for no reason ...plenty to go round...apologies for taking it down to such a low vibration...just wasn't Necessary....never ever again...4/13/24😪🤐
People are accountable for their own actions. When someone disrespects me for no reason, it says more about them than about me.I respond by denying them any futher access to my personal space.Empathy and kindness might work in certain situations with certain people but, many will take it as weakness and a free pass to disrespect you even more.
Agreed. We must care to choose our battles wisely.
Disagree. You’re torturing yourself and not having any boundaries bro
I do love this! Deny them any further access to my personal space. Very well said! 😊
I agree, war and empire building is different to the petty non life threatening crap we deal with in a workplace. You deal with disrespect in that moment and if you need to pull that person apart in front of others you must do it with some interest on top. Otherwise they own you and you know it. Never fear confrontation it's the best way to test the courage of your own convictions. If you are not prepared to do this, enjoy living for someone else's convictions. Fuck that.
Very well said and that is the right way to handle it, especially with someone who does not know you well and you don't have history with. They have shown who they are and if you continue to give them access they will do it again and again, expecting you to eventually allow their nonsense.
"We cannot control everything, but we can control how we react." - Epictetus
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, o“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Romans 12:19-21
@@James-gp5cwSo you have bad intention but pretend to be good. This is different from what Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." (Matthew 5 verse 7, NIV)
My sweet sweeeeeet STEPMOM passed away from Cancer, bacterial meningitis, lungs infection, kidney failure, fits, strokes internal bleeding and finally heart failure. She was only 48 year old ,but I know she’s in Heaven!!! She wasn’t just my mom, but my best friend. Please pray for her.

Love this saying!
This is very good video may help some people

I went through this in a one-sided relationship. After six months I decided my self-respect and inner peace were worth more than this empty relationship, I ended it and feel better for it

Forgive in leave it in God’s Hands, believe in Him with all your heart and He will repay: “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, o“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Romans 12:19-21
Good for you 😊
Yes I had to walk away from both of my adult children in order to preserve my peace, dignity and self-respect. The hardest thing I ever had to do.
Where people display their rough edges by being disrespectful - I walk away. I have come a long way in my 70 yrs. And will not associate with such people at all.
Is walking away vengeance?
@@ohenebaboahene3789 It's self protection, empathic people don't deserve to be yelled at or sworn at.
I always utilize this philosophy 1st; but w/life experience, I've found it's ineffective on a total narcissist.
I used to take it personally when someone was disrespectful to me out of nowhere. I didn't understand why I was being attacked totally unprovoked. I was often stunned silent. Not addressing disrespectful behavior isn't ok. Now I understand there are people who simply enjoy pushing people around. It's important to discern their intent in that moment of contemplation before responding. If someone is being a bully it's important to immediately, strongly let them know you wont tolerate disrespect. Calmly, assertively putting them in their place. Developing the ability to respond effectively in difficult situations is a very important skill.
Same here and people from work 💯 % for me.

I have been walking the path of stoicism for a while now. I have held up in many ways the principles I've learned. Today I felt disrespected and I lost my composure and exploded. I apologized for my behavior and reaction and from that realization and personal recognition I returned to this lesson to help myself handle it better in the future. I'm thankful for the opportunity to check my growth and continue moving forward in a positive way. Thank you for the video and I'll keep moving forward in a more controlled way. Refreshing stoic
Being that stoicism started around 300 B.C.E It’s amazing that even through technological advancements, We as humans always suffer from the same problems of our own emotions as did those from the Roman Empire. Even today that such old knowledge is still able to be used to help us understand ourselves.
I read that Stoic philosophy began w/Heraclitus, 500 B.C.
GREAT comment! Thanks Monk! ✝🕎🛡⚔🩸🪔⚖👑👑👑🕊

Thank you didn’t have to listen to the whole video
Instead of work relationships, some of these situations are family. Often times, I’ve calmly brought up the disrespect of their actions. The response is an “OMG”, or maybe a “oh mom”. I have been building on my inner peace for years. I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Being of a quiet nature has its challenges……I have a keen sense of intuition and discernment….
Exactly!! I have more problems with my adult children . Often my calmness gave them the wrong message that is not such big issue what they did. Im very calm and yes took lots of work, its not easy to just switch and keep focusing on my own life

I'm on a personal journey of self improvement. I find certain of these very thought provoking and enlightening.
Our grandparents did all this…right!
The nuclear power of gratitude ❤.
Yes.
My view has always been…”As if your opinion of me matters…I like me just fine” I started doing this when I was a kid with my bullies…I would laugh at them when they flew insults at me for what ever reason that their simple minds were choosing to be disgusting human beings on any given day. I had so much disapproval of their actions and enough confidence in myself to realize that they had the problem, not me, because “I liked me just fine.” I always knew that they were in the wrong. I would even seek them out and ask them if they had any other dumb things to say today and mock them for their ignorant stupidity. Yes..I got the crap kicked out me from time to time, but, most of the time when they saw that they couldn’t bother me and that I thought less of them than they thought of me…it wasn’t fun for them anymore, so these weak minded people would usually give up…and..I would still like me just fine. Be well.

@@StoicLifeLessons. Well look at that, I got two replies. I might be on to something. Be well.
To be able to think like that when young was a gift - and you used it. Well done.
@@SIERRATREES Oh, I don’t know about it being a gift, it was more anger in the sense of “Who the feck do you think you are!!?” kind of attitude if anything. They were losers in my view, so I didn’t think that I should have to put up with losers. It took me a few beatings by my bullies to get angry enough to tell them what I thought of them in front of the other people. I just learned how to make them look stupid, which wasn’t hard, and make the bystanders laugh at them and and agree with me. Bullies aren’t usually that bright and most of them are insecure so, it’s pretty easy to make them look like the fools that they are. Be well.
@@maxxwellbeing9449I'll never forget the look on my bullies face when he had the audacity... Long story short dudes 2 decades older than me and acts like a middle schooler. You know how in cartoons old fucks really be beefing with teenagers? Like wtf dude pick on someone your own size.

What bothers me is when adults decide not to take responsibility for themselves and they don't act like adults and I give them their freedom but they just take advantage and then it just shows me they're not adults. They don't need to be around me. I don't need to be around them
Honestly that been one of the best self improvement videos I've ever listened to. Thanks for that
Family and disrespected is tough. Weddings & funerals and text animations. Take it light.
When I am disrespected, I can’t really keep my cool. Before all of that, I’m very giving and loving, but sometimes people just don’t get the fact that you have boundaries.
This is the best advice hands down about respect. I learned so much!
Am glad to have this opportunity to learn this important matter. Is hatred alongside disrespect? I have seen disrespect that seems to carry grudge and hatred. This video has all the tools and dignity to handle any challenge that comes with disrespect and the kind. Thank you.

My sister, told me today that God told her all my crops will dry out. She said I need to learn to talk to God before I make decisions. She told me this is what God told her to tell me. & I just quit my job to start a business, & it was discouraging to hear her say that to me. Mind you I just lend my sister money the other day, I take her son to school and her to work every morning because she doesn’t drive. She even told me to lower my standards. She doesn’t drive, she’s living paycheck to paycheck, and her boyfriend is living with her rent-free. She spent her Mother’s Day at work, and I came over this morning to drive my nephew to school and to drop off a Mother’s Day gift, and fell into a discouraging conversation with her. Ima pray about this but it’s difficult knowing she said that.
Very Well Stated: Be Blessed / Stay Focus > AMEN >
It's hard sometimes, I can't shake that I feel worthless a lot. Perhaps I'm just too hard on myself? I've created a lot of problems for myself, it's affecting myself and those I exist with. It's going to be a long road. Don't mind me just journaling. 👀
Hang in there - you’re not alone in those feelings and action. Others have been their own worst enemy and receive disrespect as a result also, it takes time and concentration to fix, but by recognising your circumstances you have accomplished step one. So just keep going. I wish you strength along the way 👊
Thank you my creator blessing up.
Thanks for listening

Some of this I find hard to swallow (maybe pointing to my insecurities). This type of contemplation is not valued in the modern world. If we take the example of a work colleague belittling you. It doesn't infer that person isn't more secure than you, just that they have learned the skill of using others as stepping stones. They don't necessarily promote themselves, just demote all those around them by undermining them. These people have developed this skill. In a meeting nobody cares if you go and reflect. You'll have one chance to respond but the expectation is you demoralise the attacker. If you don't your going to be viewed as weak. If you allow the attacker the floor when your talking or presenting, your done, your owned, pack up your kit and go home. This is the Corporate Ladder, kiss the ass above you, step on the head below you. Show empathy for those below you and you have hit the bottom rung by your own design. This is why I quit Corporate life, it's nothing but shit and I'm too empathetic, so I prefer to help others now, it's much more rewarding and I've never felt more wanted, loved and needed I'm my life. Love to you all.❤
This right here is where my heart keeps sending me. Workplace culture is draining my empath energy. Thank you for commenting on this.
Thank you for sharing needed information ,I will use them to improve my life
I watched the last video on a stoic life .. the content affirming and real… aligning w my values …good for maintaining peace under the pressure of these days…
I appreciate the focus on setting boundaries assertively yet respectfully. By clearly communicating our expectations for respectful treatment, we uphold our own dignity while fostering a positive environment for constructive interactions. This practice reinforces the Stoic notion of recognizing what is within our control and acting accordingly.
Had to hear this video 3 times so it can sink in, I'm tired of putting up with disrespectful people, I'm very kind and nice but I'm done, time for a better change to have a peace of mind.
Stumbled on this, and i am so happy! I tend to be emotional and am working my way up the corporate ladder and the disrespect I have encountered has left me floored and frankly unsure how to handle it. Except responding in a negative manner. I usually get them back. You have a new follower, as I appreciate your content in this video. The explanations made sense. I will start putting it into practice today. Ty
