@@johnsimpsen5 With the time they spent on their final updates, it could be done. I kinda wish they admit they are not done with terraria. Its a large sandbox rpg game they could easily update from time to time with new items or something to keep things fresh while they work on new projects.
you right,there is some places that feel still empty after so many years.We need undergraund ocean caves so we could use all temated water breathing accsessories that we never used,also gills potion.Also I have no idea why moss minibiomes has no content,those pretty glowing places just has no usage exsept for decorative blocks

3:30 THE ORCA! I ACTUALLY THOUGHT I WAS INSANE! Okay so back when I was like 5, I would "play" Terraria with my brother on the PS3 (we had no idea what we were doing). But I vividly remember jumping into the Ocean, finding old shipping containers with chests, then either drowning or getting brutally mauled by an Orca. Glad to know I wasn't wrong for thinking Orca's WERE in the game at one point!
oh btw, i still have this copy of terraria and it's still on an older version. I will go try to see if it has Ocram (I never got past Skeletron). Is there anyway I can tell if it has old gen stuff without grinding?

The most beautiful thing is that at this state, terraria isn't a game anymore, it's a hobby. The developers just gather and work on stuff for fun, I think that's probably the best professional game development experience you can get.
3:55 imagine if they added ocram as a "joke" boss after moonlord in the new hardest seed, it's summon item would be crafted with an ocram's razor, 10 adamantite/titanium bars, 5 souls of light and night

9:20 I think the solution to this problem would be making the light pet slot into a utility pet slot. You could have light pets or other pets that give other functions like the storage gimmick. Could be a fun way to introduce more useful pets (like maybe one for fishing or something)
Ohhh even more slight automation additions? I love it. I know terraria isn't known for automation, but having the option to do some simple things like automating putting stuff in chests is so huge imo. I would honestly love to see a mod lean heavily into automation in this game instead of the usual heavy content/progression/qol mods that literally 90% mod browser consists of.
@@user-my7xm5rp3uI haven’t really used the mod, but does magic storage really count as automation? From what I’ve seen it’s just a pretty uninteresting storage system mod.
@@user-my7xm5rp3u Magic storage isn't automation at all, its another qol mod. I use it in literally every modded playthrough because it is kinda the terraria equivalent to AE2's digital storage mechanics from minecraft, but it lacks any of the actual automation that those systems have. AE2 is my favorite minecraft mod and the stuff you can achieve with that mod is so insane. If terraria ever got a proper AE2 equivalent mod, I would be on that shit in an instant. It defo is harder to add terraria automation i feel because at terraria's core its really never been about automation, its typically just ore mining (which is quick mostly tbh) or mob grinding, then gear up and fight the next boss. Rinse and repeat. So an automation mod would potentially have to purposely make some things a bit more grindy to make the automation setup actually make sense and be useful.
The thing with red not wanting to make a DST item meta, is that he basically did anyways as NO other pet in the game has any practical function except for ones that give light (even then, it's barely any), and Chester as a piggy bank
Agreed, the Light Pets though use their own slot separate from the non-functional pets, so you don't miss out on those by wanting to use a regular pet, maybe Chester should instead use that slot, since the convenience of the light pet vs the convenience of not needing to keep the money trough around is at least a tradeoff.
Perhaps the umbrella hat, when placed in the helmet armor slot, could reduce the damage taken from the sun? That would help with early exploration without completely negating the danger, also by giving up the helmet, you lose out on a considerable amount of defense, especially later in the game.
I notice how much depth Terraria devs want to put in their game and actually care for what players think, and then there’s Mojang that releases a mob vote and the rest is either unknown or is a small update that releases a couple blocks and maybe a mob if we’re extremely lucky.
Minecraft is the most OVERRATED game (post 1.16.5), and then theres terraria which has the nickname “2D minecraft”
i just wanna say that Re-logic, and even Redigit himself are absolute chads for not only making an absolute banger of a game, but also have awesome interactions with the community, and even invite the most well-known Terrariatuber along to help beta-test the game as well as have fun with them... their attitude is part of the reason why Terraria is one of my favorite games of all time

6:09 they should make the umbrella hat an armor piece specific to this seed (so it would work like umbrella but only if it's in the armor slot, not vanity slot; it goes into armor slot on right click in this seed but vanity if normal seed; idk how unrealistic this is though) still keep it normal for other seeds

Imho few biomes needs a little bit more revamp like sky/space biome, ocean and maybe something extra for the meteor minibiome? or more minibiomes that are spawning throughout the game progress like venom/toxic living tree that are spawning somewhere on map with mobs like venomous butterflies and toxic wasps. Materials could be drops or inside that tree (similar to altered blocks in meteorite biome) used for summoners/ranged playstyle. And that event could be unlocked after Queen Bee or just be additional content for Jungle biome in hardmode. Back to sky biome i imagine it would be nice to spawn floating temple (like golem tample?) after martian invasion with miniboss at the end. What do you think?

I would say that the umbrella hat should only work to protect from the sun if it's the actual equiped item, and not the vanity.
Every time i watch one of these i have to appreciate how nice the Terraria devs are, they just seem like fun people
I AM EXITED FOR THE ORCHA, they where when I played back on the 3ds. Also speaking of 3ds what if they added back the albino antilion, and made albino vertions of the other antilion variants, I'd also like to see the arch demon, arch wiverion, spectral gastropod, dragon man eater, and otheres.
Card throwing ranger subclass like yoyo for melee would be insane with some accessories like the bag and different card decks you can craft
I think a simple fix for the umbrella hat could be an added description like "appears to gave little holes in it. Wont do much to protect against the elements" something to imply it wouldnt work for vampires. But whos to say but red
A safe pet from the Pirate Invasion would genuinely be very useful and fitting, it could be a treasure chest or something like that.
i think a safe with wings like the one from battleblock theater would be sick
i really dislike actually useful pets, stops you from being able to use them cosmetically

Hey chippy. Thank you for covering these updates about the update. One thing I think we really need in terraria as a speed demon myself is a small speed boost in some capacity, perhapse an accessory that uses lizhard charges to gain speed, but the speed cap is so close to 300 mph, that i really want it. If you do read this and agree I would really really appreciate people spreading this goal for speed demons.
I don't play terraria much anymore, but looking at what they're still doing after all these months is still fun to see. This is the first time I've been convinced to buy any merch at all from a game-focused company; that Plantera T-shirt is admittedly sick.

As great as it would be to give us the old gen mobs for hard mode, i do have my doubts about the orca, considering its size. Not to mention, it now has the cute factor... yeah, probably closer to a dolphin. Just carry the guide to critter companionship. XD

I always like to take a long break from terraria, and watch chippy videos to catch up on updates, and every time I'm surprised and hyped with what I see Re-logic and Chippy never miss honestly
The concept of an Orca can be added with little issue. The problem is that the old gen content was not made by Relogic, therefore they don't have full rights to it. Red's thoughts aside, licensing issues are likely preventing its addition. Orcas are nice, but it's probably the only thing returning from those versions.

I'm so excited about vampire seed,it's going to be fun on my true mage playthrough.I wish they made special combination with hunger system if I combine both seeds,so my character has to eat only meat,and no veggies,also maybe catch critters and then drink their blood (gosh ,I know its too much)

The flying safe would be nice and along with that they could make a new item where you combine all three storage items to ether pick one to open or open all three at once and call it something like the storage wormhole.

Ocram pet can be obtained after defeating Mechdusa b/c Ocram's Razor spawner and all. Or post-ml drop? Just wait till Red adds it to the By Your Powers Combined Seed as a post-mech boss or post ml boss for the memes! and Arch Wyvern becomes a post-plantera wyvern variant for the memes! :) All enemies revert to their rare Old-Gen exclusive variants after plantera in Red's secret new meme seed! :)
the playing card item in the banner could be the "killer deck" weapon from DEad cell. the sprite is pretty similar. is weapon that trow cards as weapon and they stick to the ground and then u can recall them

If you can truly stack items with the same modifier, it’d be nice if with a hammer you could un-modify items, that way you make it so it’s easier to stack weapons in chests, it’d be a major QoL specially for modders since with mods like calamity I often find my magic storage with 20000 things inside and around 70% are just tools or weapons.
Can't believe they re-added the Orca back into the game, and with that in mind, It would be awesome to have Ocram as a post-golem boss to stop the bottleneck of weapons getting overshadowed after the Lunatic Cultist!

in the orca spoiler, you can spot some new birds in the background layer
maybe the umbrella hat reduces damage, like the obsidian rose (droping sun dps by like 30% or less), so you can kinda step out, but fighting or exploring is out of the question, maybe it gets upgraded by the eclipse up to 50% reduction or so, by a material from fellow vampires.
I remember missing Orcas so much when I switched from PS3 to the PC version. So happy to see they're coming back!!!

Minecraft Devs : we need to keep this deadline . I know , we will remove stuff for this update and add them in a later one . Terraria Devs : How about we add ... and never end this update till we are sure that everything is perfect even though it's was supposed to be a small update .
For the umbrella hat, and umbrellas in general, maybe make it so they have to be equipped as an acessory or in a full armour slot to work. Alternatively, make them way rarer, or late in progression
All I want, regarding Chester the mobile storage pet specifically, is for him to be available just by holding the eye bone, I don't want him taking a pet slot. I never want utilize it. I guess that's too meta.

I think being able to craft banners together would be such a nice QoL change. For example, all the dungeon enemy banners could be combined into one dungeon banner that can be easily moved around. It's always been annoying trying to place a ton of banners when I'm making an arena, and I think this would make banners much more usable
It would be cool to have a mech moonlord and it would be cool if they did something with the bosses and other events getting stronger and smarter and maybe randomly work together and maybe even show up to help moonlord

For the Vampire Seed with the Umbrella Hat, an idea is it could negate the burning but it should debuff you cause your going out in the light. In a sense yes you can be out during the day but your severally hindered in doing so.

A cool idea for a safe summon that is pirate themed would be a safe summon called Davey Jones locker that is a ghost safe.

Honestly, with regards to not making the player feel forced to use Chester, I feel like Red failed. I think Chester should get the Mech Cart treatment and unlock piggy bank capabilities for all pets. That may be too much spriting to do though.
I was thinking something more like a consumable magic pack or something that you can buy from the zoologist that gives your pets a bank inventory so you don't have to explain where the items go or make sprite opening animations. But really all they could do to not make chester meta is just make him like a money trough that takes up an inventory slot, doesn't follow you and stays out for the same amount of time the pig does. I don't think any of this is really necessary though.

Chester always gets in the way when trying to hook shot. He never stays around for long because of it.
I think you should get an item for throwing Chester into shimmer that gives the equivalent of the mechanical cart upgrade but for pets. Maybe it would make it so that any pet you equip can be used as a chest (and it could be toggled) which would incentivize using a pet, and not specifically Chester.
I've seen Chippy fight The Twins with a titanium repeater so many times now...
