FC Schalke 04 - their relegation from the Bundesliga was finally confirmed on Matchday 30. And it wasn't just Schalke club legends and first team coordinator Gerald Asamoah who were speechless at full time.
It’s only the fourth time they’ve fallen out of the Bundesliga and the first since 1988. The Royal Blues from Gelsenkirchen have enjoyed great success over the last 30 years, finishing Bundesliga runners-up seven times, winning the DFB Cup and UEFA Cup. They were also known for their amazing youth development, bringing through a host of now household names. @Joseph Fayek they sold sane, Neuer, Draxler, Ozil, goreztka, McKinnie. If u want to stay at the top, u need to have some quality players. They are even the 18th richest club in the world. They just don't sign good players and often sell whatever they have. Sad for Schalke fans.

Most of these talents went to Bayern or very strong clubs. The bad part is that they basically didn’t get payed for all these talents that left. There were also way too many mistakes with coaches and Schalke didn’t make the right purchases, at the end, corona didn’t give Schalke any favours and they are now very high in debt, around 240 millions euros.

10 years ago they were playing in the UCL semifinals. 4 years ago they finished second in the Bundesliga. This is crazy. At least with Hamburg it was evident that they were gonna end up getting demoted for years before it happened, but for Schalke all of this was so swift that is still hard to belive.

I was a fan, but this is what happens. 2014/2015 they started to sell the majority of their best prospects. The team I fell in love with in 2010, disintegrated in front of my eyes. The team between 2010-2014 was amazing and had a lot of promise, I don't know all the details but it seemed to me they became a farm for Bayern and other big European clubs, couldn't stay behind that.
