Loved your content throughout 2023, but dang you saved the best for last Andrew. "The watch basically pays for itself" and "even the watchmaker rubs one out onto it." Comedic gold. Oh and the Vacheron 222 is unreal.
These ones blew me away 😂😅
I haven’t stopped laughing to this one 😂❤
yeah the 222 is a mandatory grail piece for annyone thats into watches
"The watch basically pays for itself" I didn't get it can you explain please?
@@michele_The joke is that by the time you’ve regaled all your mates down the pub with stories of how the hands on the Grossman are heat purpled, they will have left, and you can finish all their drinks for free.
Andrew: once again, you nailed it. All of your selections are damn near perfect. I almost spit out my tea upon hearing a couple of those similes! Well done. Well done.
Dazzling collection ! Hillarious narrative ! A video to watch several times to soak in all the verbal comparisons, to appreaciate all explanations, to relish in all the macro shots and minute details of the world's top artisans' work ! Terrific stuff !!!
You are so very fun! Love your writing, Andrew...oh, and the watch commentary too. Happy New Year!
Every time I see that Credor, my blood pressure rises. It's absolutely perfect in its simplicity. And that Grossman, stunning. The VC 222 is also beautiful.
"Since the Rolex Store has nothing to take away... I'd call that point, proven" 😂😂😂
Thanks for a great year of wonderful content Andrew. You saved your best ‘til last. A well considered list of great pieces.
Andrew just doesn’t miss does he? Love your content thank you!
Fantastic, great bunch of watches and laugh out loud humour. Keep up the good work. I love it!
First video I've seen of yours - hillarious AND informative. Loved it. Subscribed.
Happy New Year Andrew! This is one of your best independent videos for 2023! I loved your picks, and your sense of humor is off the charts!
Thank you very much, and happy new year to you too!
So entertaining I'm tempted to buy one of your novels to see if it's as full of running gags. I'd swap out the Longines for the Omega CK859 as a sector favourite. The Explorer is that friend who never says or does anything to offend or upset you, is always there when you need them and never upstages you. If I wore that VC, beautiful as it is, it would be like Marty Feldman accompanying Uma Thurman.
Excellent content and production as always Andrew! Looking forward to more in 2024!
Oh my, I just discovered this channel! You upped the game with jokes and pacing - wonderfully entertaining, and some great watches, of course. Thank you!
What wonderful writing!!!! Only from an language -loving engineer can abstractions lead to such witty analogies! Great fun! (Talking) Hands down, the best watch channel on the internet.
No flashing images of watches that make you feel nauseous, just about one of the best reviews i have ever seen.Makes you want to buy them all.Not a bad word for any of the timepieces, just a matter of personal taste.A wonderful, just under 20 minutes, watch education. Can you choose another interesting bunch, you know your subs,to the above lot?Thank you,Andrew for your time.Just wonderful.
Nice to see you highlight some obscure brands. The process to make the Credo is fascinating. You should do a video on similar small, obscure or niche brands. Great video. Keep up the good work.
Best writing in the watch world by a nautical mile no doubt. What a perfect video to close off the year! To me the part about the 222 was the best bit 😂
Happy New Year! I always enjoy your videos and clever & insightful commentary.
Happy new year to you too!
Andrew just reached peaked narration with this video. Truly a masterclass in wit and metaphors.
Love how you show off the beauty of Credor and Seiko. The history on the earlier watches was also terrific. You get watches, humor, and history. Thanks
Nice Tommi Makinen WRC reference you snuck in there 👍🏽 Happy New year Mr Morgan 🎊
Just a perfect presentation of a perfect video about perfect watches!
Nice video with some exceptional watches for their simplicity, high quality and good taste!!! But for me, the perfect watch on that list is the Omega Speedmaster, I had 19 different version of it, and of all of them, the one I liked the best was the one with automatic Caliber 1045 in a Moonwatch case. It had Day-Date at 3, Concentric minute and seconds chrono hands, 24-hr indicator at 12, 12-hr counter at 6, and running seconds at 9, was water proof to 100 meters, beat at 28800 VPH, had Column Wheel and Vertical Clutch, anti-magnetic, and had luminous indicators. Lamentably, I stupidly sold it in 2009...........
Love watching your content, perfect combination of fun and learning about watches
Mastery in narration and video. Thanks mate.
Thank you for recognizing Moritz Grossman, now let's talk about Marco Lang and his brands. Great video as always!
Great choice, Andrew! I'm really not into dress watches but that JLC Reverso and the Credor I'd happily wear
It's my birthday today and the best way to start the day? A new Talking Hands video.! Loved it Andrew. Thanks. And yeah, I've got a couple of those, age brings wisdom :)
Happy birthday Chris, have a good one!
Happy New Year Andrew. Thanks for your content. When watching your videos, I am completely focused, to the point that I ignore everything. Oops, I just went through a red light.
Amazing as always I Could argue the simplicity of the Omiwatari would be my GS choice And I think even if it might feel main street, patek world time (5231) enamel dial is a perfect watch I would throw in a curve ball as well such as the Casio Ca-53W-1ER, ie the calculator 😊 Happy holidays
Great video with a good cross section of watches it was great to see that Grand Seiko and Credor featured so high in your video. This video brought a smile to my face and will imagine some other You Tubers will make some silly comments about your choices especially as Rolex was lower than Grand Seiko 🙂 Happy New Year
Thank you, happy new year!
Great collection presented with a witty commentary. Absolutely Perfect. Greetings to you and yours
The Credor dial is absolute perfection especially when compared to my Octopus Kraken Barakuda knock off which I have skilfully improved with a Dymo printed 'Barakuda' logo in place of the factory dial logo. Would the Credor artisans be interested in a one off cash job? Will cover postage both ways.
This is my first time listening to your videos. I absolutely love your British humor! It’s spot on and refreshing! I have a titanium Hamilton Khaki that I love. I also will be purchasing an Omega Speedmaster next.
Very informative and entertaining, thank you for the insight.
I love your reviews: erudite and entertaining! I do wonder however, why watches that are not-so-good one week, become fantastic the next!? Whatever; I love you! Keep it up! 😁👍
Happy new year Andrew. I hope next year will bring you good fortune. Cheers!
Top form today Andrew, top form! (And the watches weren't too shabby either). Happy New Year!
Big fan of the channel and first comment here - maybe your most brilliant commentary ever. Wicked smart and funny as hell. The Grossman watch quips had me laughing out loud and sending this video to my non-watch guy friends. All the best for a stellar 2024.
Andrew, you nailed it again! Amazing list, specially when it arrives to the JLC😍 Wish you an awesome 2024!
OMG, the back of the Credor watch is unreal...it is beautiful on a different level...!
Nice to see how your list differed from mine. Obviously I also had to name the Speedmaster too, the pinnacle for me!
Brilliant as always - Happy New Year 👍🏻😁
A fantastic selection! Happy New Year, Andrew!
Thank you, you too!
The near perfect watch for me is my recently gifted to me for Christmas Citizen NY0040-17L promaster diver’s watch. Day date, good lume, decent accuracy with a handwinding and hacking movement, 20 bar water resistance, ISO Diver’s certification, well designed hands and indices that make it very legible and a sixty click bezel that like the chapter ring aligns up properly and all for just over €200.
Your constant references to Formula 1 really chuffs my bits, absolutely love your work.
Super shocked when you mentioned the SLGA021 as one of the watches on this list since thats the watch im wearing right now. 🥰 Thanks for the justification 😂
My picks for perfect watches from this list are m Grossman, grand Seiko and definately the Credor all three of them absolutely stunning!
You have just referenced Echoes by Pink Floyd. A fabulous track, even in the 21st century 👌
We have a winner!
Bingo John!
"You know a watch is good when even the watchmaker rubs one out onto it" Classic!
very cool video. The Explorer 36 has been the one and only that I have had my eyes set on for so long.
It's gorgeous, believe me. The best legibility you can get, much much better than my Wimbledon, especially when the hands overlap.
I was shopping for a GMT watch. The choice is the Rolex Explorer II or the GMTII. The explorer II was about $5,000, while the GMT II was about $7,250. Cheaper or what i really want. Cheaper or what i really want. I had just survived a heart attack, a 5 way by pass and heart valve repair. I said the hell with it, go for broke. Got the GMT II. Never regretted it. Such a gorgeous watch.
I'm kinda new to the whole luxury watch thing but one brand I've been fascinated by is Jaquet Droz, but I never see any coverage of that brand. Are they any good? I especially love the original Grand Seconde.
Own 2 Grand Seiko right now & working my courage to move towards Credor soon…love it but just couldn’t justify myself to get one yet. 😅
Some ppl are just meant to be , and you were born for this , judging how watching you and seeing your hands moving and explaining things better than any watch out there mate 😊
A masterclass in writing and watch selection. Bravo Andrew.
love your content and jokes. Can't wait for more videos and more watches in 2024!
Some of the best writing I have ever experienced online. Nope, the best. I appreciate the effort.
Nice video. Some beautiful watches. I'm lucky enough to own two of them. The explorer and moon watch. Love them.
The unexpected roast of Bernie Ecclestone is top notch. While football has Peter Drury, horology has Andrew Morgan. Keep doing what you're doing mate, it's delightful. Have a great 2024!
Wow, you mentioned This Mortal Coil, the 4AD supergroup 👍👍👍👍
Love your list. But my personal watch is missing: Lehmann Intemporal with date and power reserve indicator. Its beautiful and at the same time it only takes 10years to save on it.
Arigatou for including the Eichii 2!
What a great storyteller. Love this guy!
Credor Eichii ii is my perfect watch, too... I'm off to Japan in 3 weeks and hoping to visit the Seiko museum in Tokyo to maybe see one in the flesh ❤
"Tefnut... a non-sticky testicle..." Holymoly. That is something.
Perfect combination of wit and knowledge. Great video! 😂♥️
Truly a great collection, showing good taste.
Cant fault your picks. Id also pick the Lange Saxonia Thin in either pink gold or copper blue. Elegant and simple
Andrew, can you do a review of the latest Maurice Lacroix AIKON Automatic Skeleton and Urban Tribe Skeleton watches? I think they are underrated and deserve appreciation within watch collectors.
This was a good one very good 🌼 Keep it on
Guinand Flight Engineer is a legitimate masterpiece of a tool watch . Love the Credor .
Any thoughts about the Corum Lab One or Admirals Cup 44 or 45?
Agree with a few of your choices, but the top of your list 4 me is the 222, singularly THE most perfect watch design EVER!!! I also like the the Explorer and the SpeedMaster. I've owned all 3 and have sold them along the way. Actually owned 2 222's, 1 with gold dial and another with gray dial and dauphen hands, unfortunately both were traded many moons ago. The Credor is pretty cool too!
“Chris Brown” and “non stick” hahahaha! Brilliant video mate. And outstanding choices. So glad I stumbled across your own channel!
Great list - For the JLC Reverso chrono, IMHO, it's not perfection 😛 - they really need a little more contrast between the hands and the open dial on the chrono side. Something obvious like having blued hands might help for the steel version since the gold version doesn't suffer from the same hands/contrast issue.
Having handled one, I agree. The steel version is a nightmare to read with so many greys and white. The gold version is much better, but they all suffer from being too large and thick. I only have a Duoface Tribute, but that watch is already very large to me.
The limited edition (10 per year) hand enamelled version is much prettier
Credor You nailed your list
Amen to the Tudor Black Bay line. I've found that the Tudor BB 58 GMT, which is a true GMT with two-tone bezel and its companion, the Tudor BB Chrono (which such engine was developed in conjunction with the Breitling B01 column wheel engine) with locking pushers (like the Rolex Daytona) and with each being 41mm in size, having in-house engines, 200m water resistance, locking clasp stainless steel bracelets, COSC specs, screw down Tudor rose stems, tasteful snowflake hour hands and minute swords, and 70 hours of reserve are for than 1/2 of the price of their Rolex counterparts are a relative bargains and yet are timeless and very respectable to wear and depend on for the time of day. Oh, and did I mention, unlike their Rolex counterparts are generally available with very short or no wait times to obtain the Tudor.
Fantastic list! Unfortunately, I will MAYBE only be able to afford some of the first two or three.
Can’t believe you didn’t mention the Omega Seamaster, the IWC Ingenieur, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut, the Audermars Piguet Royal Oak. Those are pretty much perfect to me!
That reference would be : Echoes😊 ...and I now need to play it ...
The proper version, not the trimmed down "Best of PF" version!
The title was a bit assertive, yet you made very solid choices, my leige. I may have changed maybe a couple of them for my taste but they are iron solid nonetheless. Great video and great taste!
I'm still wondering what song you were referencing in the VC 222 section haha 🤔
The song that dominates one side of the LP with a weird bit in the middle: Echoes by Pink Floyd? Love the video, as always!
You got it!
Hi Andrew. What made you pick the Bb58 over the Bb54 for this list?
The 54 is tiny.
One musical track that takes up an entire 2nd side of an LP is Tubular Bells Part 2, but not a song though.
“The birth of Bernie Ecclestone”.. oh, that got me good 😄. I follow F1 since 1983, so I truly get it👌🏻
I absolutely loved the “rubs one out onto it” remark!🤣😂🤣😳
The vc 222 is a thing of beauty, everything vacheron does is beautiful,
This had me laughing from start to finish. To the extent that my mug of tea is cold because I knew if I took a mouthful, said beverage would emerge as an aerosol and some it from my nose. Thank you
Ok. That was endlessly entertaining. You win. I subscribed.
Thank you ❤️
Cartier Tank Normale in platinum is pretty perfect I reckon
Great content!!
Andrew, this list is brilliant. I hate Grand Seiko's scratch-on-the-chalkboard-clashing-fonts logo (clearly seen at 12:17) on the Lake Suwa but the water effect on the dial is stunning. I love your unwavering passion for the Credor Eichi II. There's an argument for the Eichi II as the most beautiful watch ever made. I would also add to this list the Kikuchi Nakagawa Murakumo. In an entirely different category I would also include the Citizen 0100, especially if "perfection" is your requirement.
"I don't want a Rolex, but I want a Rolex..." So true! I too don't want a Rolex, but want a Rolex. And if I were to ever get one, it would 100% be the 36mm stainless steel Explorer.
Great choices Andrew, But any list of perfection has to include an A. Lange & Söhne somewhere. N’est-ce pas?
You had me dying in this one man , i think you’re onto something
Great to see Moritz Grossmann getting some love. I'd love to see the Hamatic movement in the flesh because it looks sensational and completely different to almost anything else around. Was about to also mention the Floyd reference but checked the comments first and I'd be late to that party so I won't bother. I've been listening to that album since I was about 10 and I still can't figure out if I like it or not. bit like my feelings about Rolex.
You still get points for knowing the PF reference!
@@AndrewMorganWatches As an Everton fan living in Anfield I could never forgive the fact that the Kopites got to appear on a Floyd album.
All great choices 🙂👍
