~ Bleach Anime ~
Rukia has accepted her execution, and gives a request to first division captain Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto to send Ichigo and his friends home after her execution. The sōkyoku, a massive halberd that transforms into a phoenix, is the execution method. However, Ichigo steps forward and stops the sōkyoku with his sword, and sympathetic captains Shunsui Kyōraku and Jūshirō Ukitake destroy the sōkyoku. As Renji arrives to take away Rukia, Ichigo defeats three pursuing lieutenants with his bare hands, and turns to face Byakuya who then begin to fight!

@@skullcruncher76 Ukitake made an appeal to central 46 which they just ignored (for obvious reason) so Ukitake decided to destroy Sokyoku to save Rukia. Shuinsui wanted to help Ukitake and also had his suspicions too about Aizen.

If you never watched this on adult swim around midnight then you just wont understand how epic bleach really used to be. I remember sneaking downstairs to watch bleach late at night to catch every episode.

This is the moment Ichigo being the superior being came into feeling. His audience filled with lieutenants, Captains, & the Captain Commander were all in shock witnessing this stranger dominate those that have been honing their skills for decades to centuries. Aside from being the random person that Rukia just so happened to run into, Ichigo finally felt like a main character at this moment & later on with his rematch against Byakuya
Lets not forget the brooding rematch building since the end of the first season. He gets ass kicked two to three times before hand by Byakuya. GAH though each subsequent time he was closing the gap. Here he shows everyone up, even inspiring two captains to attempt to save Rukia just from his deeds he acomplished in soul society. This was the climax of everything he endured since Rukia was taken away and he was stripped of his powers. Easily one my top three shows just from the opening arcs three seasons.
That’s what made his inevitable nerfing in the Arrancar arc all the more painful.

For everything that's come after this, this sequence (Rukia's rescue and Ichigo's fight with Bayakuya) remains one of, if not the best in the series. I think, anyway.

When it comes to hand to hand combat he was still trained by his father who was a captain it comes off as goofy in the beginning but you then realize his father was giving his son a outlet to work through the loss of his mother in his goofy way he was teaching his son about survival

Bleach and Naruto were 2 of the old school Animes that I watched the DAY they were released in Japan and subbed 😭 Words can’t express how hype me and my friends were when we saw ichigo pull up and stand up to Byakuya with his Bankai. That was straight up old school amazing anime vibes 😭

What I love so much about this isn’t the fact how he saved Rukia it’s the fact that he caught the lieutenant and captains off guard cause of how much they underestimated them calling them just ryoka and how moving forward in the story ichigo became a legend and a hero among the soul society to the point where ichogo thought they abandoned him when he no longer had his powers but was proved wrong when rukia kickstarted his powers again by running him through with the sword that all the captains put them power into showing just how much they respected him
I absolutely adore this scene. I get jittery watching it over 10 years later. Rukia is my favourite anime character and this entire sequence, hell, this entire arc, shows that even if Rukia didn’t think much of herself, a lot of other people did. 💕

There’s is also the fact that in the manga while talking to his Boss in the Fullbring arc, Ichigo says he’s got no interest in older ladies and the earlier parts of the manga especially the Substitute arc points out Rukia’s age as being way older several times

The moment of fear the other lieutenants and the weaker captains felt when seeing Ichigo stop the Soukikou is literally the most bad ass thing I’ve ever seen in an anime
Michelle Ruff really nailed the entire scenes completely and the way she says thank you's and her monologues really made me feel for her more than the Japanese version The manga panels are better than the flashbacks of the anime(minus the Renji bit), because we see Byakuya glance at her

Knowing now how truly strong the old man is, he really didn’t want to execute Rukia. Instead I think he was purely testing Ichigo’s abilities. Granted this was never stated but he definitely could of stopped Ichigo as soon as he showed up.
I suspect he could easily have dodged or blocked the hit, but he had time to look at it, realise Itchigo wasn't really trying to hurt anyone just rescue his friend and decided to take the hit because it would be more interesting to see what happened, he also clearly knew Byuakuya was already coming and that there was something between the 2 that needed to be hashed out. I also hold to a different theory, he and old man Yamammoto knew who Itchigo was from day 1, the moment they saw him it wasn't "wow this kid is strong" it was "huh, so thats Isshin's kid, seems just like his dad, lets play along for old times sake" as they could sense his spiritual preasure and how familiar it was. Hell consider this, he beats all 3 Lt's but none of the 3 seem to recover and reappear during the later fight. Likely he beats them, and then the old man has the other 2 just come sit and watch the fight, keeping them out of harms way and making sure the fight doesn't become a full on bloodbath.
Imagine being Yamamoto watching your THOUSAND year old LT who has a bankai, survived the first Quincy war and was the one to literally backstab Yhwh so you could get the (assumed) kill, getting taken out by a single uppercut from a teenager...

I've seen a lot of people asking what the song/ost starting at 2:30 is called. It's "BL_56 (Soft Strums - Bankai... Tensa Zangetsu" by Shiro Sagisu. I've been looking forever for it too and just found out. Hope this helps!

no body ever seems to realize that ichigo's original blade was basically a butter knife, then his shikai was a steak knife. i don't care what anyone says, his bonkai should have been a filleting knife! kubo broke theme when he decided to go for the kitana. btw, it blows that this is the ONLY time that ichigo uses zangetsu's bandages like he does when white possesses him.
I've recently been watching Bleach for the first time, and I do agree with the people who said the Soul Society arc was the best part of Bleach. The whole arc on the bounts didn't feel as interesting as when they were saving Rukia. Also Ichigo is very strong here but afterwards he becomes weak against the other opponents. I guess with there being so much episodes the story will run dry afterwards. Nevertheless Bleach is a good anime.
Well the bount arc was filler and not part of her manga. And he's very up and down. When he fights Aizen he is miles ahead but before he struggled against Espada. Ichigo just power spikes as he doesn't have years to train like others.

Yeah the Bount arc sucked butt in my opinion. Only interesting part was when the Bounts invaded the soul society. I thought the Zanpakto rebellion was cooler than all the other arcs. Aside from the taking down Aizen one.

Soul Society arc was heat but it’s such a hard pick between that and the 110 Years Ago Arc as a fav. They were both really good in their own unique ways.
I had never actually seen bleach but I had seen code geass and now I'm watching it and the first thing I noticed was ichigo's dub voice is the exact same voice Lelouch had and it convinced me to watch this anime full on because Johnny is one of the best voice actors

Most underrated anime of all time that was constantly drowned out by other animes and definitely the coolest main character of the big 3 and most iconic voice that can fit any character its put on without changing the tone. But the plus side is that although most people don't know this, it was the most influential of the big 3 inspiring shows like, mha, jjk, black clover, demon slayer, aot, csm, fire force, and blue exorcist. The biggest examples are mha and jjk cause the creator of jjk doesn't even hide the fact that he's one of the biggest bleach fans while the creator of mha started to draw because of bleach with his first drawings being zanpakuto he made.
Hands down, one of the best moments in the series. ^^
and not too long after this Ichigo gets an unexplained mega nerf that makes him barely stronger than when he first arrived in the soul society (also known as the Bount arc)

Imagine he trained with Yoruichi for hand to hand combat and Urahara for IQ more often
Sasakibe shouldn't have been one of the three who got rocked, imo. From what we learn about him later, he's easily past Captain level. The other two make sense, one is a member of the healer corps and the other is a weakling. But Sasakibe had a pretty impressive Bankai and was held in very high regard by the Head Captain.
Renji and Ichigo being tomorrow’s Shunsui and Ukitake. And not Byakuya with the saltiest facial expression! 😂😂😂😂
