Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign. Apes are the dominant species living harmoniously with one another and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape will undertake a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

This all happened because James Franco wanted John Lithgow to remember things.

One of yes, glad u didn't say the best..there have been so many it's impossible to select one definitive. Before the new apes movies the older ones were still amazing and still stand up I think even now esp conquest, battle, and the one they come to 70s earth and are treat like superstars , for a while anyway...lol ..great film series , new and old.
The original Planet of the Apes doesn't get enough credit as being a classic sci-fi movie because it doesn't have space or technology involved. But it's purely a sci-fi story.

After many generations, the Apes will eventually have their own ideologies and split into different factions, which unfortunately will cause even more conflict with each other. Caesar wouldn't have wanted that.

Rise, Dawn and War with Andy Serkis are masterpieces in my opinion. I adore Caesar ❤️ I saw them in the cinema and still rewatch them again and again. I can’t wait to see Kingdom in the cinema in the UK. I hope it’s may 10th too. I already have a fave chimp from Kingdom and i haven’t seen it yet. It’s Noa❤️ #ApesTogetherStrong❤️

That's because he is the true descendant of Caesar. Throughout human history. A lot of human rulers claim to be descendants, when they are not. I feel this is when we are starting to see the deception of rule within the ape kingdom.

He's squaring off with him at the edge of the cliff and the orangutan hits him up with a "ahhh but ape not kill ape" then Noa spartan kicks him off the ledge whilst musing "Gingers. Are. Not. Apes."

It all started when Ceaser wanted to bring peace and co-existense towards humans and now Noa will continue his legacy and I'm pumped for this
I love the reverse. The humans are hunt by foot and she's rescued by an ape riding a horse.
I just hope this installment fulfill our expectations, and carry on Caesar's legacy the way it should be.
This one is set long after the events of the last one. Ceaser and his descendants are long gone. This is going to be more in line with the originals.

I know all that guys, what I meant, it's my fear that Disney might ruined it.
Noa will be the one who will follow Caesar's legacy and teachings and Proximus Caesar will be the one who will corrupt Caesar's teachings and legacy as a means of domination and conquest over other apes and humans.
Proximus Caesar has a very wrong idea of who Caesar was, even adopting the same name as his hero. He thinks Caesar was a conqueror who went to war with the humans to free the apes, ending up slaying most of the humans but we know that Caesar was a pacifist who wanted a truce with the humans, only fighting when was to defend the apes from the humans who collapse by their own hand because of the Simian Flu and not because Caesar killed them.
That action scene at the start is so good! Like you genuinely feel the sheer terror of the human trying to hide and run for her life

And I bet this will not get as good critics as the first trilogy and will not be as successful. Because it’s another director etc. studio wants to milk the cow and this often doesn’t work well

I have faith for this movie because they took their time making it and not a cash grab made in 2-3 years. but neither of us truly know so why don't we wait?

Those apes have the capacity to dominate the whole world. They're essentially one of the fiercest animals known to mankind.
To think it all began with a little book from France, how that book’s adaptation created a franchise that has had more good then bad, and is still continuing to bring great works each with a message and social commentary that keeps being relevant even 40 plus years later.

@@chelulehillary411 dude, this is going based off a timeline, so first 3 are the beginning of the end of human civilization and this is starting to get to the mark Wahlberg/original movie timeframe meaning that this is 100% hundreds of years in the future, because there's no way it takes 10-15 years for apes to learn to ride horses and become somewhat civilized

When a movie trailer gives you goosebumps you know it is going to be good.
This truly brings some nostalgic 1960s Planet Of The Apes vibes from the trailer itself! Excellent work on the film's most intense scenes, plenty of pure action sequences, terrific characters and a absolute fantastical world where humans were enslaved just like the '60s characters bringing light and breathing new memories of that exact 1960s film! Also, I loved the entire trailer for its stunning CGI, beautiful new artistic looks, and definitely vast locations that I can see in the blink of a eye! This looks EPIC!
I hope they bring in the missing space crew storyline from Rise.

While the marvel movies have been floundering flop after flop, Planet of the Apes have literally made banger after banger.

@@J4sse the title was not very accurate. i'm sure everyone wanted a big LOTR end battle to finish off the trilogy, which is not what happened. it was far more emotionally and character driven and i believe that was the better choice IMO.

God, Proximus looks like he's going to be great. From what I've seen of him, he's probably just as violent and ruthless as Koba, but far more... collected? Civil? Point is, he's probably going to be very interesting. Can't wait for this movie.
i believe he will be worse than koba because he possesses the worst sides of humanity within along with his ape strength. koba’s hatred began out of fear and pain inflicted on him by humans. proximus’ hatred is born purely out of his own free will. he has no current pressing reason to hunt down humans. he does it simply because he can. very human like. i can’t wait to see what they do with him!

Why do I have the feeling that the human woman is a time traveler and that this movie will play very similarly to the original Planet Of The Apes. I mean, just look at her clothes, compared to the other humans in the movie she got modern clothes
Well, she is definitely different from the other humans. The main ape even asks, "Why do they hunt her?" in one of other trailers.
She isn't a time traveler let that bs go
Or maybe humans are getting smart again and she is the first of many to come.
I know time travel was part of the original, but this franchise has been fairly grounded and that would ruin it in my opinion. The only other explanation would be cryogenics which is slightly more grounded than time travel.
I think it was a left over from the human past that Noa gave her to wear.
This is movie my favorite in the year and in front of Deadpool & Wolverine next to Alien Romulus
