"Predator 2" (1990): Urban Jungle and a Deadlier Predator
Released in 1990, "Predator 2" is a science fiction action film directed by Stephen Hopkins. The movie is a sequel to the 1987 hit film "Predator" and takes the action from the jungle to the urban jungle of Los Angeles. The film features an even deadlier and more technologically advanced Predator hunting its prey in a gritty and crime-ridden city. Starring Danny Glover as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, the film explores themes of urban violence, drug cartels, and police corruption, all while delivering intense action sequences and suspense.
Set in the near future of 1997, the movie showcases the Predator's adaptability as it uses the city's infrastructure to its advantage. The film also expands the lore of the Predator species, revealing more about their hunting practices and the existence of multiple Predators. While "Predator 2" didn't achieve the same iconic status as its predecessor, it remains a cult classic among fans of the franchise, known for its high-octane action and memorable scenes.
The film's blend of science fiction, horror, and action elements, along with its unique setting, adds a distinct flavor to the Predator series and demonstrates the franchise's ability to evolve and explore new environments. "Predator 2" is a noteworthy installment that has continued to capture the imagination of sci-fi and action enthusiasts over the years.

Gary Busey never dies - he just gets crazier.
2:17 “Okay, Gary, just scream at the camera as we run at you!” 😊
Lmfao!!!! Literally spot on. Comment made me laugh so much man
2:18 to 2:20 the predator: YEEHAAAA!!
Nom nom nom nom OK....😂
@@mohdfaizul481 😂
My favorite part of this scene is when it cuts to the outside, Harrigan is preparing for war. I thought those quick cuts arming himself was totally badass!
Cuts like this is what differs good movie and average
@@jibbanibba2000 That part👍
City Hunter showed major disrespect by shooting Keys without looking at him😂😂😂😂😂
😂
The moment the Predator found out the water destroyed his cloaking device😅.
I love this movie (still 2nd to the 1st) but there are small moments that make me laugh to this day. That wtf moment with the water, and the moment he sees there lights with another spectrum vision (I thought as a kid he said "WOW") 🤣🤣🤣
@@nanobreaker the feeling is mutual thank you.
Most advanced technology isn't water proof 😂.
I like Gary's Aggressiveness and tenacity in this scene, always going after the prize even after he Could have slinked away Escaped and disappeared in shame Since The predator's attention was now on, Mike. 😮
if its the tech that "bend the light" around object, than water droplets would refract that light, scatter the effect of "Cloak"
YOU WANT ME? HERE I AM!
2:08 こお言ってたのか。 アメリカンイングリッシュは、聞き取りにくい
reminds me of you
I don't understand why the team didn't look up. Harrigan clearly said "He's on the third floor structure" i.e. above them.
They were an idiot you know what's funny that when an enemy always says the right above you enemies never do f****** look up until it's too late so why the f*** should anyone look up
Because they didnt give a fuk about Harrigan😂
Because gary busey
because we wouldnt have had this scene. and so on...
@@jstick9980 which is hilarious that they can recognize each other
I used to own this on VHS. Thank you for showing this scene in hd 4k - it looks awesome on my computer 🙂.
2:17 The way the predator just incinerated Keyes (well almost incinerated Keyes because Keyes somehow survives and gets back up for a second shot at the predator but eventually fails) and jumped off that platform in the air after the explosion yelling yeeee hawww I finally got someone challenging to fight.
I can’t accept Animal Mother just sitting there and watching his comrades die!
Nobody's throwing grenades (at him)
"Better them than me"
You talk the talk but do you walk the walk
Remember what fishburne said on predators.. run run away live to fight another day 😂
Ain't nobody's gonna ignore the fact that Harrigan's as Badass and tough as any other Predator protagonists in the franchise! Although he's no soldier or highly trained spec ops member, but he's just as deadly as Dutch or Royce in some instance. The difference is, he's the Urban street level type of tough ass LA cop that no one should ever mess with! Danny Glover is Lt. Harrigan!!
Too bad Mel Gibson ain't with him though. They both would have wiped the floor with that thing.
@@-Emperor-84and Joe Pesci. He’d ask if the predator finds him funny.
This would be a great map for the game. This movie always gave up a special, unique vibe. Perfect sequel. That Predator is young and wild in the city dayummmmm
I definitely need to rewatch this!
Predator thinking damn i like this guy sorry still got to take your spine lol
Yep. Predator: "I'm afraid im going to have to KO ya and take ya spine"
I love how Harrigan has a M203 in his trunk.
Funny thing is this was not Harrigan's car. He grabbed the nearest police vehicle he could find after climbing out of the underground subway chasing the predator. I guess all police vehicles come equipped with heavy duty guns and body armor.
They're fighting well-armed gangs
@@Thunderchild-gz4gc That makes sense although only in the movies. To bad the police in real life don't carry these types of fire arms in Chicago and other major cities because they sure need it.
They copied what Cameron did with the Aliens marine scene and it worked just as well here. So freaky.
As far a sequels go this one wasn't that bad at all!!!
Seems like they would have tested the cloak with rain before deploying it.
The humans set up a trap with special chemicals because they had debriefed Dutch and knew what to expect. The Predators were not used to that kind of sophistication.
Even the aliens can’t make waterproof suits😂
Am i the only one who rooting for the alien?
Naahhh im buddy, iam for Badass Hunter Yautja Predator your xemomoprh doesnt had code of honor just blood thirsty killer and if that things exist it more likely kill u and breed u l.. unlike Yautja the real challenge of honor no bullshit for sci fci
I thinks everyone was. Keys and his crew were dicks.
eu também e até hoje nenhum venceu
I was rooting for Gary Busey
Chicago needs this city hunter predator to clean up the city.
Danny Glover was such a badass in this. His physicality in the role of Harrigan is very believable. It's a pity he didn't do more genre stuff, he could have easily had a Neeson-style latter career as an action hero
Saw
2:09 you want me? Here I am!
Danny Glover es el vengador de carl weathers 💪
O melhor da franquia.
Only question I have with this film is with all the times the predator left tech behind like the broken plasmacaster and its spear/combo stick wouldn’t those have been picked up by agents/criminals similar to the plot of the game Predator Concrete Jungle? Maybe they were useless but thought the Predators would have leveled the city to prevent the tech falling into human hands
Actually if you've seen the Predator (2018) you find that the government has a few bits of predator tech. Unlike Concrete Jungle, they haven't reverse engineered it, it may be too advanced to do so. One of the villains actually uses a plasma caster...badly.
Keyes could've survived. The Predator thought he was dead. He shows he was a true warrior to go back for Harrigan.
1:32 thats scary and badass
Owlf agents got killed off one by one by the city hunter combistick while being ambush dues to biomask switch to ultraviolet mode that he enabled to see them in meat locker
The predator is the goat 🐐 enough said 😁
00:27 ocorrendo uma matança em geral, toda equipe sendo eliminada um a um..... e esse me vem atirar com gelo ao invés de uma automática a queima a roupa
В любой непонятной ситуации вози полный багажник стволов
So... Harrigan just had one of those bombs that exploded the entrance? Should've saved it for the Yautja. 😅
Now compare this to the Prey. :D
Keys should have asked Jayne for Vera. She'd have gotten the job done.
Shiny! Let’s be bad guys.
02:46 e 02:49 desde que vi lá nos anos 90 reparei que usaram a mesma cena kkkk
You can't fool a Predator
Danny Glover as the replacement for Arnie...!!?? 🤣😵
A bit I don't quite get... he tries to cloak, but looks at himself to observe that it failed. I wonder what visual tells he gets from cloaking, given he was in infrared observation mode.
I'm gonna save you A$$!
2:45 if he could aim worth a crap, could have killed the Predator right there, he was at short range, target not moving, and as we find out, only moderately bullet resistant. Should have just took up position and just picked him off
2:14
2:49
That was disrespectful😂 Killed dude without even looking at him
@@jstick9980 02:46 e 02:49 desde que vi lá nos anos 90 reparei que usaram a mesma cena kkkk
I really feel for the redwing meat packing company drivers getting there in the morning after seeing this shit
of course they are all dead if you give animal mother an office job
What a load of
awesomeness
Ludicrously bad film. 😂😂
See how bad this movie is? Unless you're 15 it's just a live action cartoon. There's no real drama or tension, the characters are all one dimensional, and the acting is almost non-existent. It's just a cheap cash-grab sequel. It didn't even come close to films like the first two _Alien_ movies or the first two _Terminators_ or even the first _Predator.._
Cool story, bro.
Nobody is saying its the best movie. It rightfully received the bad criticism at the time due to those reasons you mentioned. Its still a decent action movie, with good grimey scenes.
yes the indepth charater writing in the first movie was shakespearian lol
I liked this movie. Not as epic as the first movie obviously, but a worthy sequel I think.
It was a damn good sequel.. the disrespect it has gotten is one of the reasons why we get trash movies today
