What I really love about this is the fact that even though the mom was made to be the bad person in this, she realized at the end that she was wrong and changed to help her daughter. I prefer seeing people change for the better than living life as the villain. Redemption arcs are amazing.

A few years ago my mom found lot buy presents & was behind on rent. She said to me and my sister, “well, for Christmas this year you have a nice house, food and water, and us.” At that point it hit me that Christmas wasn’t about presents but safety and family. (I was 7)
