The Brahman is an American breed of zebuine-taurine hybrid beef cattle. It was bred in the United States from 1885 from cattle originating in India, imported at various times from the United Kingdom, from India and from Brazil. These were mainly Gir, Guzerá and Nelore stock, with some Indu-Brasil, Krishna Valley and Ongole. The Brahman has a high tolerance of heat, sunlight and humidity, and good resistance to parasites. It has been exported to many countries, particularly in the tropics; in Australia it is the most numerous breed of cattle. It has been used in the creation of numerous taurine-indicine hybrids, some of which - such as the Brangus and Brahmousin - are established as separate breeds.

  • Brahmin breed Cow originates from India, this particular breed; its heritage goes back almost 13,000 years back since the TIME of Vedas this breed is mostly found northern, West northern, present days Pakistan, and nowadays in Sourthern India. The Cow generally produce milk max 9-12 liter with A2 chemical ingrediant A1 and A2 chemical properties are highly sought after, for human health, the Bull distinctlively have large hump shoulder and are predominantly used in Farm work their hump seem to make them slow but firm grip while pulling, (Torque) in old days. This breed of hoofs are strong and remain conjoined to each other, unlike Gir breed, or Mahiwal, or Surat; there are altogether 37 different breed, but the Brahmin top the score.

    • This breed was developed in USA using cebu cow breeds brought from India and its heritage is no more than 7000BCE. Zebu was domesticated during this period and today it becomes somebodys mother.

  • Good video …Brahman is a Cross of Gir Ongole n Sahiwal…these breeds have been there since time immemorial….:My family have been keeping last 60 years all 3 breeds for milk ..:::yes the Americans have developed a high breed for meat …..n we have banned in India Brazilian n American Semen as it of Brahman n Gir ….as it is not the original n has been creating havoc ….. Original Indian breeds live between 12-15 years ….:American n Brazilian Gir just collapses within 4-5 years ….: it’s a pathetic high breed in that sense….for meat ..::but best Pedigree has been going from India …::what I am most worried is we shud not loose d Original Genes of these breeds to the Americans n Brazilian variety….

    • @@saiadapa. you lose rights to all of your posessions , when you get colonized. in this case a lot of specimens were exported out of the country during the last five decades of british rule and this included animals , fine arts , idols , gold , gems, plants and grains, and a few animals were almost at the verge of extinction due to hunting. only cattle somehow survived. research on what india lost duriing that period. I am not saying the other rulers were saints , its just the establishment in subcontinent had a lot to lose when the british were allowed to collect taxes , and this cow was one of the animals shipped over. if not for internet and prride of the recipients one would never have known
