  • This is truly a cinematographic masterpiece. It has given me so many different feelings at once, very hard and visceral. The anger, the sadness, the fear and desperation feels so real through the whole journey, and really make people more aware of the trauma and pain the people that had abusive experiences are going through in life. Fascinating! The actors deserve so much recognition for this. I’m obsessed with this and it’s been such a long time that something didn’t touch me so much like this series did.

  • Just watched this and ... I cannot believe some of the incredibly complicated feelings he goes through as he is being stalked. The brushing off by the police, denying him the dignity a human being deserves. The friends who worsened the situation when he so badly needed to feel that he didn't deserve what was happening to him. It's just ... he so badly needed someone to empathize with and believe him, but the people he was close to turned away from him because it was easier than facing the danger of his stalker. To fully comprehend so many complex intricacies and then to be so effective in depicting those different thought processes he was going through is so immense and raw. I felt like he put words to things I'd only felt in the past but could not fully give words to. Very cathartic. Worth the watch/cry. 10/10

I am truly speechless. It had been years since a series didn’t take me this much, almost autobiographical and visceral. I know what it's like to grow up with physical and psychological abuse trauma...With a sense of shame, we guys tend to never report and talk about it. • I am very grateful because Richard Gadd wrote this story and played it very well. The fact that this story comes from his personal experience, made me cry a lot while watching this series. As a viewer, of course there were several parts that annoyed me because Donny's decisions often made things difficult for him. However, as a human I understand that life is complex and does not always consist of straight lines or curves. This is one of the best series on Netflix. Jessica Gunning is very special, just looking at her eyes as Martha makes me feel nervous and anxious. Sent from my iPhone

  • Initially, I tuned in with the expectation of encountering a run-of-the-mill dark comedy, as suggested by the trailer. However, it swiftly evolved into a masterful display of disturbingly beautiful storytelling, evoking a myriad of complex emotions within my psyche. I found myself pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed by the experience. Rarely do I indulge in binge-watching entire seasons in one sitting, yet this show held me captivated throughout all seven episodes.

  • What a masterpiece it is!! Absolutely mind-blowing. The amount of all sets of emotions while bringe watching it is overwhelming. The pain, shame, self distrust, abuse not only from the stalker, the pain again... And then the scene with his family, when his father reveales his own abuse. This cracked me completely into uncontrollably sobbing. And still the glimpse of love, humor, support and strength he finds to overcome all of this to make something so unrealistically perfect out of ot. The way he still perceives his stalker and reflects his own mistakes. I was completely blown away by this series. Forgot to mention the great acting of everyone else in the series

  • I just came here to say that for someone with very little acting experience he did so well. I was in awe at one scene and I was thinking that it was a very difficult scene and I was like ok what an actor. I didn't even know at the time that this was a true story and it actually happened to him.

I just couldn’t stop watching it. I ended up watching the whole thing. This is proof that you don’t need big explosions, sci fi, naked people, guns or hardcore violence to be fully engaged and entertained!! It’s so intense and cringy and sad and upsetting.😂😂😂😂 And I fking loved it!!!

  • Just watched it in a full sitting. Sensational acting, amazing script. Very dark, also the trauma bond that developed throughout it was so sad, the part when she described why she called him little reindeer as well given him more of an explanation to why she acted the way she acted. Just goes to show about the meaning of that phrase: "hurt people hurt"

  • I think this will be the next fleabag! Not as funny and much darker but hell this is a gem! Absolutely brilliant! It's true art when a comedy can deal with dark topics like grooming, stalking, rape self sabotage and self hatred so geniously that it touches you deeply and entertains you at the same time without getting cringe or uncomfortable. The balance between comedy and dark twisted drama is so well crafted here its like a good therapy session that opens your eyes! the monologue in episode 6 with him on stage hit me! " I loved hating myself more than loving anyone else" damn. This is profound wisdom. Maybe the solution of my problem I had for decades. I'm flabbergasted!
