  • I honestly love that Jaime makes a big deal of no killing, but all the adults in his family just straight up murder a bunch of people (to be fair, grandma already had a body count so it doesn't count)

    • At least people seem to agree this movie is better than both the _Shazam_ sequel that someone squandered both Helen Mirren & Lucy Liu and especially that _The Flash_ abomination, but, yeah, this movie is so poorly timed. Granted, pretty much every DC movie has suffered since The Rock's public pissing contest with the _Black Adam_ movie when the DCEU already still needs all the help it can get over a decade later just because WB is that coked out and incompetent.

I don't think repetition of the 'superhero' element is the key reason for the lack of interest - it's the repetitive writing full of stereotypes and cliches. Comically bad villain who dramatically fails? Love interest that understands our tortured hero? Etc. Hell, The Simpsons have been running for 34th seasons now and people still watch them.

Blue Beetle was the only hero who saw a Crisis event (I forget which one) coming but no one believed him, died because of it, and then the multiverse Crisis happened. • It was a decent movie. Honestly, I like Jaime Reyes reasonably well. However, Ted Kord is one of my all-time favorite comic characters. If they did a sequel with him, it would be great. I'm guessing he's lost in time and will appear in the Booster Gold show that so little has been announced for.

    @calebowens693@calebowens6937 ай бұрын
    • If it gets a second movie, that’s definitely what the plot is going to be: to find Ted Kord. The mid-credits scene was Jenny finding a message from her dad confirming that he’s still alive.

    • The only thing that annoyed me was Jaime's "call to action" was so stinking long. Like, 45 minutes of him freaking out and trying to not be the Blue Beetle, before his dad gets killed and he finally gets his motivation. I enjoyed the movie though. I totally agree with the Honest Trailer that the background characters were really entertaining.

  • 3:40 - 3:47 IT'S LIKE THEIR VERSION OF SAYING have You seen Back to the Future, Hottub Time Machine 2, Ready Player One and Crisis on the Infinite Earths then you'll get THE AVENGERS ENDGAME... Like not a single movie had the same things ever get repeated because THEY DON'T, if I'm eating a burger and the guy two days after eating a burger in the different restaurant and then another guy eats the burger somewhere else makes us copying eachother or we're just doing things on our own without noticing it will get criticised for just doing the thing we've seen somewhere else...
