Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican filmmaker, author, actor, and former special effects makeup artist. He is best known for the Academy Award-winning fantasy films Pan's Labyrinth (2006) and The Shape of Water (2017), winning the Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture for the latter. Enjoy!

    • "Directing, no matter who you are, is the art of orchestrating accidents." & quoting the Zen saying "The obstacle is the path." An obstacle is only a path that has been looked at wrong. These are great truisms of film making that can be discovered or learned more easily through experience and maturity.

    • @@MegaKamandi in economics , every single aspect has thousands of definition , so we can't deny all of them . Same in filmaking - every mind makes movies differently some do layered work like Nolan some do linear work like Spielberg and some do storytelling by technical work like him, we can't deny he is not a good filmaker. It's totally how u percieve his work @megakamandi. Marvel geeks never understand him today but future generations will be.

  • Dealing with Harvey Weinstein on Mimic, Del Toro should know! Peter Jackson even stepped in to help him push Weinstein away because Guillermo had such a bad experience making Mimic.
