Keanu deserves every success for being a guy who finds his own way to give Hollywood the finger, by being a good dude who makes successful movies & Hollywood cant corrupt or discard him because of that.
Keanu is lowkey really based. You have to take some hints from his interviews, but you can tell he’s not like the other Hollyweirdos. Hopefully it stays that way.

I am a 21 year old guy who is lucky to be an uncle to a 13 year old nephew. My nephew has a deadbeat dad who really isn't part of his life so im the closest thing he has to a positive male role model. Last year we binged all the John Wick and Matrix movies and on his birthday I took him to watch the John Wick Finale. I was holding back tears cuz he was holding my hand and telling me how this was the best day of his life. Best movie series I have ever watched.

When I watched that scene in Osaka I felt the same as when I was playing cyberpunk 2077. And that overhead scene was brilliant. It felt like John wick was the main character of a classic top-down shooter game just mowing down enemies.

that was something I noted as well. His character doing all the stuff with the make up was just great. At first I thought that they had a double for him. A fat guy who knew martial arts. But later on I found it that he was actually the actor. Great work indeed.

Saw it on Friday. The 2 hr 45 minutes went by so soon, it's shocking that a franchise in its 4th installment manages to be raise the stakes, elevate the action set pieces above everything that came before it and still end on a satisfying note. Hiroyuki Sanada, Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Ian Mcshane, Lawrence Fishburne ❤️ Bill Skarsgard has worn the best Suits I have seen in a long time, that's the class a villain should have. This is a Masterpiece
Bill Skarsgard's suits makes me want to be a billionaire just so I can afford to buy one of them. Now I understand why women are such big fans of Sex And The City. Bill's suits were a fashion feast for the eyes.

It won't happened because Keanu and Yen are too old now to play their younger selves. And it wouldn't work with other actors
You want a prequel? The writers have ran out of good ideas since the third movie.
Personally, I feel like a prequel that explains these things would take his mythical past that everyone is so in awe of and burn it down. No filmed events could possibly live up to the mythic hype of John Wick's early years. Let these events remain mysterious and badass.

What made for me the viewing of the 4th a less annoying experience than the viewing of the 3rd is that I expected A LOT from the latter, having LOVED the second installment... and Halle Berry's character was just ridiculous, as was everything desert-related... but one of the few qualities of the 3rd movie compared to the 4th is that it's not UNBEARABLY LONG. ^^;

The overhead gunfight is one of the coolest action scenes ever. It reminded me of playing an old '80s arcade shooter where you're running all around and smashing the attack button

I'm 100% on the same page with you on pretty much every single point you made. From it's comfortable, respectable, and very well-earned 2nd place in the franchise behind the first one, to the jaw-dropping Dragon's Breath fight, to Donnie Yen absolutely stealing the show, to the magnificent ending. This is already one of my all-time favorite action franchises, and it's now been given a worthy ending. Loved the film.

Yeah. Wasn’t the biggest fan of 3, and sure this one needs a bit more suspension of disbelief but it’s a straight up raw guns blazing action movie. A decent ending to Wick’s saga. However idk how I feel about a spin off where they replace Wick with a 100 pound nothing tiny Asian girl expecting us to believe she’s just as good if not better than the Babayaga himself. Seems kind of woke to me…

Scott Adkins performance as the rotund villain was so enjoyable, had to double check it was him.
Everytime he laughed I laughed, his voice, the environment and the fact that a fatass can actually fight was so funny lmao. Great character and acting
It warms my heart to see aging martial arts pros like Scott Adkins (JW4) or Mark Dacascos (Zero in JW3) having a blast playing these over the top side characters. I'm sure they had a lot of fun and it really shows. The best compliment to them is that I remember these characters not because of the martial arts scenes but their quirky personalities from dialogue scenes. Top job!
The overhead room to room shoot-out is probably the best action scene I've ever watched
I was really impressed with Donnie Yen in this one. He's definitely not doing the stoic Ip Man type acting. (He also drops an epic F-bomb right at the end). I also liked how much of a blast Scott Adkins was having with such an over-the-top character. Oh, and Bill Skaasguard makes an awesome baddie. You just wanna punch him SO hard.
The opening monologue by the Bowery King with the heavy practice punches was enough to pump up adrenaline for the whole 3 hour ride in the cinema. Amazing opening to an amazing movie.
That scene is even better in 4dx. Honestly I've seen the movie twice now once in regular and once in 4dx and I honestly can say it's ten times better in 4dx.

I saw it in a Dolby theater and it felt/sounded like cannons were hitting the building with every punch. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a movie that loud.
I like "John Wick" movie. But the bad thing is that every new film of the franchise is getting more and more like a sci-fi or a superhero movie. The same thing happened with "The Fast and the Furious".
The shot with Jon standing next to a sakura tree drowned in blood red neon lights was beautiful, the entire movies cinematography is beautiful
I think the cinematographer knew this too, since they lingered on that particular shot for longer than they normally would. This film took the lighting and cinematography to yet another level.
The movie was beautiful, and brilliant in many ways. The cinematography the action, the comedy showing up in the action sometimes, the touching through lines of both bringing up Lance Riddick's character, and Wick's "Loving Husband" wishes for his headstone.
I don't think the series has ever topped the club scene from the first one, but that top down scene in 4 definitely recaptured that magic
The cinematography IS absolutely spectacular. It probably won't get an Oscar nomination since it's "just" an action film, but it was some of the best I've ever seen. The bar was raised so much higher than even the previous films did with each installment.
Yes! 100% This! If I was a film school teacher, watching this movie would be homework. Set design, lighting, camera work, camera rigging, even down to camera selecting - I swear they must've used an 8k camera on some of the sequences. It is truly a beautiful movie to look at. Throw in the chaos of glorious action - spectacular!

No joke... Every shot in this movie was so stylish and the sets were exquisite. The movie just looks so sleek and expensive. Most fun action movie I've seen in a while.

It was a satisfying ending to a great franchise. I didn't even realize the movie was 3 hours long That's how engaged the movie has you during that entire time frame. You're invested the entire runtime of the entire film

@@sedohema gonna be honest, i would respect the hell out of the creative team if they were to say 'yes, this is how the story ends' One of the massive problems in modern hollywood is endings. The writers simply do not have the balls to finish a story when they know the studio would happily milk it dry. Ir frankly ruins many stories because a good ending is just a beautiful thing. A good writer finishes the damn plot. frankly it's why i prefer anime so much to american television. The series might be short, but they rarely just peter out into white noise
This movie is not Only Gun Fu. But The commitment to the high level of choreography Fight...all The actors... it's unbelievable... People praise Keanu...but all cast made a huge effort... Great Movie. Set a high bar for next action movies
I’m so happy for this film and the cast and crew. They put their hearts and souls into this film. And it paid off. It was not only the best Wick film but it’s one of the best action films ever. The Paris Circle scene, Dragons breath from above scene, long staircase scene and the Osaka Continental were amazing fight scenes. Especially the last 30 mins or so of the film when he’s trying to get to the church and all the Paris hitmen are trying to kill him. So good. Idk how John survived for that long. He’s been dropped from a second story balcony, he’s been hit by a car multiple times, shot at guys while on a horse n them on motorcycles, fought with crazy dogs, had a fight with medieval weapons, shot off a roof, jumped out of a 3rd story building landing on a car, fought like 15 guys up a staircase only to be knocked back down, then got back up and fought another 13 guys only to be knocked back down again lol. It was so cool
I had NO IDEA the movie was almost three hours. It’s just that good. You’re hooked from beginning to end and never bored. Shit’s awesome

everyone was great, back at the Osaka Continental, my jaw dropped at Rina's archery, split shot and dagger feral stabs but Donnie Yen is the real star of John Wick 4. His blind acting throughout the film and combat scene is ----- brilliant. Its a movie that i stopped breathing so often because of these amazing scenes.
When he did the ip-man punches was an incredible moment.

When I saw the scene of him throwing himself out of a 4th story window, hitting a car, then the pavement and slowly getting back up I knew the franchise needed this to be the last movie. Hollywood action movie sequels always try to outdo the stunts of previous movies and you can only suspend disbelief so much.
Thank God we still have people who love their job in entertainment, and understand what audiences wants more. Thanks Keanu and all the people who worked in this saga 🙏 Great review Nerdrotic 👍

I just hope they end it here. I'm willing to accept him never suffering bullet wounds thanks to the 'bullet proof suit', but they seem to have gone the 'Fast & Furious' route and just made John completely INDESTRUCTIBLE, able to fall off the roof of a high rise & land on the roof of a car without a scratch, walk it off, and keep fighting!

@Stan Lee I noticed all that too! Now, as a harsh critic, I could tear the John Wick series apart, but I suppose whatever sins it has it respectfully makes up for through the story, characters, and creativity. The idea and execution were great, and they clearly put a lot of work into the series. So, they get a pass from me, as they must be enjoyed for what they are-and I do. Obviously, as is the case with any of the John Wicks, you have to suspend your disbelief at least a little, and I will gladly do that if a movie is good. You can make up whatever rules you want, really, the trick is to keep the rules consistent within the confines of the universe you’ve created, otherwise, the audience will get suspicious. Take the Kevlar-like suits, for example, they may ward off bullets, but (sheesh!) there’s still the sheer non-stop IMPACT of firepower being rained down on you. That still counts, no? Now, I’ve never been consciously shot at, but in John’s case, I would imagine it’s like being rapidly punched by multiple strong, metal-fisted people, while being stung by a thousand hornets all at the same time. Ouchie! Okay, bad example, but you get the point, right? Plus, John fell from the roof of high-rise, and again later from I think a 3rd-story window unto a car; then later he fell down a mile long flight of stairs! What the heck!? Like a blind terminator, this dude will not stay down. The spirit might be willing, but the body? Anyone who’s ever had to go through anything close to those things knows that there isn’t enough adrenaline in the world to keep any human from walking away clean after what he’s gone through-and yet! Anyways, I found myself rooting for him the whole way! Forget “superhero fatigue”, what a refreshing ride!
The one shot of John going through that building with that shotgun will be one of my favorite examples of cinematography. Also Gary, does the Paris fight scene remind you of Nightfall? Since John is just going through hundreds of people and gets worn out by the end.

I didn’t realize the movie was nearly 3 hours until it ended, I looked at my watch, and was STUNNED to see how late it was. It honestly left me beyond satisfied but earnestly wanting more.
Nerdrotic always has excellently narrated content. Never a disappointment to tune into the show.
A quick side note: You dont have to watch anything previous to JW4 if you just are looking for incredible action and fight scenes. The story and characters are easy to connect with without any prior viewings. Gary is correct to recommend watching the first three films if you want maximum enjoyment, but it is not necessarily the only way to enjoy this film. I believe it stands alone.
I went do watch all three and was just starting the 3rd when my phone beeped me to remind me I had a ticket - for Thursday, not Friday ooops I was out the door quick
Yeah, I'd seen all 3 already and still didn't understand exactly what was going on anyway! lol And I think this is ENOUGH Wick. No matter how great the action scenes are, I was getting a bit exhausted by the end, and I still don't know if anything can top that 'KNIFE STORE' set piece from the last sequel!
Basically John Wick 4 and Puss In Boots The Last Wish accomplish rare feats where a sequel is so great that you can watch it without prior experience with the previous installment?

Only last 12 months we watched movies like Top Gun: Maveric, John Wick: Chapter 4, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Pinocchio (not the Disney trash), Northman, Elvis, Creed 3, Bullet Train, Whale, Batman and maybe some not so mainstream films like Downton Abbey, Thirteen lives and The Banshees of Inisherin. The situation slowly becoming way better, although not for garbage companies like Disney and Netflix (mostly)

Keanu Reves is a sweetheart. He has been through a lot of heart ache. Lost his wife, child, friend, and had a bad childhood, yet he is not letting that make him a hardened person. He gives most of his money to charities and others and staff who need it. SUCH A HUMBLE AND GREAT MAN!! I HAVE WATCHED HIM ALL MY LIFE AND ALWAYS LOVED HIM AS AN ACTOR AND STILL DO TO THIS DAY!!! KNOWING ALL OF THIS SND MORE, MAKES ME CARE FOR HIM SO MUCH MORE!!!! 🥰❤️
Man I am so glad I returned to the theatre for this one, I was hoping for a badass old school action movie and that’s what I got. The overhead action scene was amazing, it was like watching a gameplay clip for a game I really want to play. The fact that Donnie Yen was practically co-lead had me smiling even more. Seriously it’s about damn time we got another movie like this.
The Osaka continental was soo damn beautifully shot and hiroyuki sanada was perfect as always love that actor, scott Adkins in a fat suit was great. The birds eye view scene was epic as hell
Keanu reeves is the reason why I love this character so much. I can't imagine anyone else playing it. There is something about the character that resembles alot about his personal life too and that shows he understand the character so much and able to bring A game

I just watched it yesterday in Dolby Cinema. JW4 freaking rocks. Every set piece blows me away. This is the best so far as the modern day action/martial arts movie. Every character is outstanding. Please, bring us JW5. Keanu did an excellent job. He has earned my utmost respect at his age (close to 60) and did most of the stunts himself. Donnie Yen also did a fantastic job. 5 out of 5 in my book. Don't walk, run to watch it. My son and I had a blast.

I’d rather not have a John Wick 5, I thought the conclusion to this movie was a rather definitive way to end the series, despite them leaving a potential route for a sequel.
They should leave it after this one. It was the perfect ending for Mr. Wick.

This all started as a B-movie dog gimmick in the wake of The Raid. Just so well done...
Yeah. Even the cast didn't expect the first movie to spawn another 3 sequels.
The last 40 mins really hits hard, the action sequences in Paris blew me away, what a ride.
Speaking as someone for whom this was the first viewing of a John Wick film, you don't need to see any of the first three to enjoy this one. If you pay attention, the movie drops subtle hints about previous movies that are good enough to fill things in. So, in that way, I would give the film even more credit. There a couple great moment of some pretty dark humor that the audience I was with wasn't sure about until I started laughing and they all realized it was OK to laugh at dark humor.
This movie was incredible. That scene where he has the gun with the incendiary rounds was amazing. 👍
It's so nice to see people filling up theaters to see real action and stunt-work. Hearing the audience react to John Wick action is like watching a good Horror movie in a theater, it's so much fun. After Ant-Man and Shazam underperforming and John Wick 4 and Top Gun: Maverick surpassing expectations, I think Hollywood is finally starting to learn what people want more of.
It's refreshing to see that some films give audiences what they want instead of pushing a narrative or talking down to them. Both Top Gun Maverick and the John Wick series have delivered good entertainment and I hope that Hollywood gets the memo.
At my theater they had lance riddick blue ribbons to pin on your lapel. Nice touch to remember a cool guy. RIP brother.
It didn't feel like 3 hours. Vs other movies like antman where you feel every minute of those 6 hours. The characters stayed true to their motivations and characteristics and the action *chefs kiss*. It was very satisfying. The stuntmen were great and I still love that dog. It was easily one of the better movies of 23 so far.
Watched it yesterday and wow what a action spectacle of the highest quality, sad to see Wick come to a end but it makes sense. And it was. Kinda poetic what happens with Lance Reddick and his character. May he RIP
I think it's always better to have an audience regret that the story ends, rather than have them wishing it would end. They could probably "Fast and Furious" this franchise, but that would ruin it.
No spoilers. But all I’ll say is that “Hotline Miami” sequence was possibly the best shootout ever put to a film screen. Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin are smiling down on Keanu somewhere.
The Constantine Dragonbreath nod is sublime. 🙌
I was fatigued from some of the repetitive action but that overhead dragon breath scene brought me back into it to help finish a great franchise.
It was a great scene. Total different vibe kicked in.

The Quills insert was masterful, Scott Glenn was awesome as Stick, nervous to see what happens to the character
4:38 "Some roundabout" while it's the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysee. It's like saying "Some random, crowded square with too many LED ads" instead of the Time Square in NY haha
Just saw it, it was an awesome movie and the wife and I walked out of the theater wondering why there aren't more movies like this. It was fun, and reminded us both why we enjoyed going to movies.
The action in this movie was amazing! Stuff I've never seen in another movie. Good stuff.

I don't think he actually died. If you saw the 3rd movie, remember the scene when the doctor requested John Wick to shoot him in specific areas above the collar bone and somewhere in the stomach. John got shot almost in the same areas, so it would make sense that in the end he survives
The 3rd shot he took is definitely a life taker

@@visisydandthevoid The 3rd shot was at the bottom right of the body. Probably punctured the lung or damaged the kidney but it wasn't fatal assuming he didn't die of blood loss

I’ve been a bit of a critic of your channel of late. But I can say that this format and spirit of the episode was way better. I can understand that there hasn’t been much to celebrate on the movie screen, but I think it is very refreshing to have a positive take on a new release. Keep the balance and highlight the good, bad and ugly of the industry.
I posted on Mr H's review of the film that the Berlin sequence was my favorite of the movie and the Dragon's Breath sequence was my favorite of the whole franchise. Glad to see others feel the same way as both scenes were undeniable gems that will go down as two of the best scenes in any action movie.
As for the Dasvidaniya, Winston had the Roma cross tattoo on his wrist when he touched the grave.
Loved the movie! Great story and finale to the series. Donny Yen as Caine was easily my favorite part. He was absolutely incredible in the role. I hope the movie makes tons of money!
Me and my partner chose JW4 to go back to the movies after a long time. It was long but enjoyable, some scenes were just so over the top and cool I was jiggling in excitement and fun. The bird's eye shot was so awesome I wish I could roll it back to watch it again on the big screen. Donnie Yen was absolutely awesome, just pure charisma, loved every scene with him and the character he portraied. The all cast was well chose and the characters so cool. All around, even if I think the first will always be the best one, this was the ending I was hoping for. Long story short, if you wanna have FUN, go watch it!!!
Got to see it opening night and to be honest I am shocked it was 3hrs long. It seemed it could have been longer. Time flew by with the action and great story.
This franchise just keeps getting better and better. There is hope out there to make great films.
Just hope they end it here. It gets a BIT exhausting when they make John COMPLETELY INDESTRUCTIBLE. If he never suffers bullet wounds and can fall from the roof of a high rise without any injury, then the fighting can feel exhausting since you know he'll kill everyone sooner or later...

Literally just came home from watching it in cinema. Any fan of the previous 3 films will enjoy this one. A great last hurrah for the character and Keanu as i dont think he will ever be able to play such a role again. Simple mindless action film and i enjoyed every minute
Man now I need to binge all the John Wick movies now! RIP Lance Riddick we will miss you!
Just saw this masterpiece in IMAX today and I was having fun the whole time I was watching it. This Wick Saga has never failed to keep the audience glued to the screen 👍
John Wick's Baba Yaga era deserves a prequel series. Sign me up for that ANYTIME. We need to watch it. How it all started.

Love that Spanish henchman with the silver suit, he has so much energy and dynamic movement it made you feel it when he went toe to toe with John
The blind guy is almost certainly a call back to Zatoichi, a Japense character with a far, far longer history than Stick from daredevil, or even daredevil himself.
Donnie Yen was 100% my favorite part of the film. I’m not as high on any of the JW movies like everyone else seems to be, but Donnie Yen was the man and I’d really like to a prequel involving Keanu and Donnie that explains the lead up to the impossible task and finally shows us the damn pencil incident.
I absolutely loved this movie on ALL levels down to the Marques dress style was in true gentleman fashion! Kudos to the costume team, action sequences, and writing were on point in all areas!
Saw this movie yesterday and it was a fucking masterpiece! Brilliant performances by the entire cast and wonderfully written, its the best movie I’ve watched in years!!!

Best action film I've ever seen. Bar none. John wick 4 is legendary. The soundtrack, the cinematography, the action, even the side characters were all absolutely enthralling. I watched it twice opening weekend and I already wanna watch it again.
'The Highlander' references. The Gathering, the hotels being neutral ( like the churches) where no killing is allowed, A final duel where there can be only one survivor( they even said it in the movie), just outside of a church (Holy Ground) and featuring Clancy Brown (The Harbinger) who played the Kurgan.
Donnie Yen stole the show, and that Dragon's Breath scene was everything I wanted from Hotline Miami
I strongly believe that the top down sequence is a nod to Hotline Miami, John Wick and The Continental have become core parts of the Payday universe which also hosts Jacket from Hotline Miami. Also I hope John comes back for Payday 3 and is actually voiced by Keanu this time.
loved the call back to "the warriors" movie. getting from place a to place b fighting the get there and the DJ scene replications. same song even. awesome.

Seen it twice and probably see it again in theaters. Maybe if the spin offs don't do well they will do a john wick 5. I hope Keanu has one more in him

The roundabout is the one at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. And it's no little roundabout. It's a pretty huge one. And yeah, the traffic there is as crazy as it looked in the movie.
