BMW 3 Series E92 Bavgruppe Round LED Angel Eyes and New Lenses - 335i

I installed Bavgruppe round angel eyes in my 335i's headlights recently, and in the process I also painted the internal housings and installed some new lenses. This project requires quite a bit of modification to the headlight housings, which may seem scary. In the end, I think its definitely worth the effort, as it modernizes the front end a ton! This product specifically works for the E92 and E93 328i, 335i, and M3.
Couldn't find a solid DIY on these, so I thought I would make one. The process should be relatively similar with the DTM style eyes, but probably slightly more difficult.

  • Hey, just came across your channel and i’m now following your videos. I’m just starting on building my headlights and using your video as my tutorial. Unfortunately, i also made the same mistake of plugging the oem plug the wrong way causing a short. Do you still have the link of rhe capacitor you used to fix yours.

  • Getting ready to install this same kit on my 07 335i soon. I am not looking forward to it lol. So how are the rings held in place? You did not glue them or anything? BTW thanks for the video man super helpful!

    @draytonPW@draytonPW3 жыл бұрын
    • Nope, literally just held in place from the lens. I tried out some double sided tape but that didn't really stick. Been over a year now, car is driven hard on some bumpy roads, its been on track, and no issues! Good luck with the install! Definitely not the most fun thing to do lol but well worth it in the end

  • Good DIY. Was there any error codes after? Also, the other angel eye ring really just sits there without any glue or 3M tape? Curious. Thanks!

    @wwin9776@wwin97764 жыл бұрын
    • Literally just sits there, hasn't budged since I've installed the lenses. I suppose you could put some adhesive but I had a hard time with the adhesive tape sometimes tearing up the paint. There are some codes but they're pretty easy to code out with the INPA software suite. I've been procrastinating and still haven't done it lol. Maybe I should make a video on the coding part.

    • Joshua Camungao Hey there, so my headlights are still looking like new since I did this back in december, and I’ve probably done about 12k miles since then. If you’d feel more comfortable you could try a tiny bit of silicone or something else but in my case everything’s still good. If you have any other questions feel free to DM me on instagram! Good luck!

  • So is your low beam at night now the angel eyes? Or are the angel eyes just daytime running lights.

    @candycornpeeps@candycornpeeps3 жыл бұрын
    • Just the DRLs, but they're also on at night alongside the low beams. And then the ones I have are also switchbacks so they blink amber next to the normal turn signal.

      @SamAbraham@SamAbraham3 жыл бұрын
  • Whats SwitchBack exactly mean?? After 2 years are there any dead led spots ?

    @tuxedojazz@tuxedojazz Жыл бұрын
    • Switchback means the angel eyes light up amber to match the turn signals when they are activated. And great question, the left side does have 2 dead LEDs unfortunately so I will be replacing them both this summer. Pretty normal to be honest after 2.5 years. I might ask them for a discount so we'll see

  • why can't you paint that inner lenses? I'm going for an all blackout 13:15

    @idrisu1@idrisu13 жыл бұрын
    • i’m talking about the clear portion (the lens). I mean you could if you wanted, but light is supposed to go through that so I don’t recommend painting it haha. I painted the actual shroud for the light behind it anyways so it looks basically black, but light still goes through just like it would’ve before

  • I ordered the switchback white/amber - do i still need to purchase a different bulb to get the white color instead of the nasty yellow in my rings ?

    @gotdemgoods@gotdemgoods2 жыл бұрын
    • No, the switchbacks completely replace the rings... Not sure if you watched the video but you have to fully disassemble ur lights and remove the existing physical rings to install these. Not trying to sound weird just a heads up haha
