Insane match! Rublev managed to come back from being 5-0 down in that first-set tiebreak and win it all. I couldn't believe my eyes! Kudos to Davidovich Fokina, he showed such a high level today. 🔥
And very good grace in defeat for such fine margins. A good man.
Good. Handshake at end. 🎉🎉🎉
he did it before in 2023 aus open i guess
@@dsavkayyes but that’s to 10 not 7 so you have more time to come back
Nah not a good guy. He is dishonest. In the 2nd round against Shang he pretended to pick the ball up correctly after a second bounce. And that was a very crucial point of the first set
I loved that handshakes of both players at the end.
It looks rough from Fokina, are they good friends?
@@DurianSpikes yeah they are good friends
Fokina: “We’ll played but you know you had luck on your side today 😅” Rublev: “I know bro I I know 🤝”
Happy for Rublev. His fighting spirit is what got him through the match.
He deserves to win D Fokina is not equal quality player!bye bye D Fokina, btw he is more Rusian then Spanish so crowd love them equaly
@@vesnacupic-basha5238 No, if you watch the whole match, the crowd was very loudly on ADF's side.. but they weren't overly disrespectful towards Rublev like a lot of other crowds are
Crazy stuff. Loved the embrace at the end 💞😂
Look at that moment at the net! Two extremely likeable players, & a hard-fought match.
Yeah, Foki must have said something to him in Russian.
I love seeing Andrey's fighting spirit is back. Vamos boy
Bravo Andrey!😊❤
fried rice
from 1-5 to win the 1 set..this is Andrey.
From 0-5 , I have watched the whole match
From 0-5 actually, even more impressive
This is rather Foki's mental weakness
I would say is This is Fokina ..
Bravo, Rublev!!!
Fokina is so talented. His variability is insane. In an era of many boring hardhitters it's an enjoyment to see some elegant talents like him or Musetti.
As with many things in life, superficial "elegance" may be attractive but it's often ineffective & shallow.. especially in tennis, unless they can actually be consistent - which neither of them have proven to be so far
BWEEEH is back.
Rublev shown us nerves of steel to come back like this in this tie break , and win the game against a very good Fokina
Glad to see rublev finding form post dubai default. Good level from fokina as well
ADF seems to be physically incapable of winning a tiebreak against Rublev at this point, that is now 13 match points/set points he has wasted against him 😳
typical Foki-match: can easily keep up with a Top10-player like Rublev but makes bad (and sometimes even comical) decisions during the big points. He definitely needs a good mental coach.
Bad mental management.. this is what keeps him out from Top 10. He has skills and tennis to be inside the best ones but he lacks mental part.. 😢😢
Agree, Foki is more versatile than Rublev, but he ALWAYS makes wrong decisions at critical moments. The underarm serve against Rune at deciding set tb at Wimbledon last year is a perfect example.
I am always amazed how Fokina's groundstroke is like iron but his mental is like glass.
Once a gain ANDREY Congrats🔥🎾
Andrey is starting to come back🎉
Lets go rubweh!! 🎉
Keep going Andrey!!!!
Rublev is TOP🔥🔥🔥
He yelling bravo! Bravo! To himself after winning tiebreak from 0:5. The feeling when you work so hard and finally get the payoff. Wonderful match
Foki was really amazing, he should have won the first set. He deserves to be in the top 10, he seems to have a fear of winning, he looses at the end the very important points
Players only "deserve" to be in the Top10 once they actually make it and stay there for a long period of time.. Can't say he deserves it unless he actually does it (which he may still do if he becomes consistent & works on his mentality)
i like this new version of rublev, less emotional, more focus.
more concentrated, he should practice Yoga for mastering his emotions.
Andrey king!!! :D
Panty bot going crazy
Lol, the best way to put it 🤣🤣those panty bots are taking over every comment section now
Good friends. Good match.
Good win for Andrey but he's still screaming after every point he loses lol
He was actually very calm in the 1st set breaker where he had to fight off multiple break points
@@alexlackner1945set points *
@@17cit yes exactly thanks
Mr. Fokina, don't try to use drama to win the game AGAIN. There is a hawk-eye system for in or out, unlike double bounce in your last game
But realistically do u think that ball can be in? Hawkeye will have margin for errors and such very close calls even hawk eye can't predict it 100% right
That call is weird. I didn't see any overlap of the ball on the line. It was next to the line.
@@STHoodu gotta look closely it was there
ahhhhh davidovich is so useless under pressure. Props to rublev for recovering after such a tough month but if we're being honest this was a disasterclass in pressure management from adf more than a win for andrey
I’m surprised that Rublev doesn’t even use backhand slices, his game is really one dimensional. Enough to beat Fokina today
Tough for Davdovich Fokina. He often always comes SO CLOSE to beating the top guys.
Buena Fokina y buena Rublev, tremendo match
ADF has a legit trauma facing rublev! He had 5 match Points in Doha and lost, last year had 3 set points in the first set Tie Breaker and lost and now this year up 5-0 in the tiebreak and lost again. Not sure when he can ever recover from this it seems really really daunting
* it was in Dubai last year, not Doha.. but yes
I don’t know how he won the tie breaker from 5 points to nothing? Amazing attitude today but still not his best. Too many unforced errors.
At least he's moving in the right direction
The 6-6, 9-9 ball!
dam Fokina could’ve had that couldn’t convert the first set and that challenge
to be fair, by eye, such a ball could easily have been seen as out, since the mark probably is exactly against the line, fully visible without actually touching the line and not on it. Only hawkeye could see it was 1mm on the line ;-)
Davidovich Folkina, during the handshake: "No, Andrey, I can't dance with you."
Rublev is unstopabble
Foki is absurdly talented but he needs to be more focused.
why are linesman still being used?
Rublev only now starting to move a bit better on the clay...🤔😒
His movement was really good on it last year
@@yasdrums Exactly...I don't know what is wrong this year?? He seems like he's scared of falling.😣😒
@@warriorson7979 maybe he is idk. It did seem to get better as the match went on today, so hopefully it’ll continue to improve Edit-just seen in an interview he said the courts are more slippery than at other tournaments
Madrid courts are also more slippery than the other clay courts, so some players might end up being more cautious
my BWEH
I want to see Struff and Humbert but it's nothing.
The biggest choke in the tournament
Davidovich Fokina for third time against Rublev. 5-2 on serve in tb, 6-1 in tb and now 5-0 in tb.
I've never heard that commentator make a single intelligent comment why has she got air time she's terrible at her job.....
i didn’t understand that match…🤔
Are they good friends? why they did handshakes like that awkward?
Yes they are
Fokina is so hooooot
"ye lucky sonofa..."
2:27 Rublev returned ball. Why did Davidovich win?
It actually bounced on Rublev's side. The camera doesn't show it well, but id you lokk closely, you'll see it.
@@leumas0412 ok. It looks like Davidovich's side
0:13 that Rublev's look at a line referee 😝😝😝
Umpire needs sacking
The challenge at kzhead.info/sun/mLSkh5ugpXSglqs/bejne.html shows the problem in tennis even when "hawkeye" is used on clay. There is always a measurement error with electonic means of determining ball position, which surely was exceeded here, thus the ball should have been called out. Tennis needs to decide whether a ball whose landing location can't be determined to better than 5 mm can be called in by 1mm.
If the margin is so small the tech can't call it accurately, wouldn't they go with the original umpires call of in anyway tho?
Raspando, Rublev.
It's so cold here in Madrid, please kindly get a warm coat for these Ball boys and girls. Just feeling for them
Spoiler blocker
Tough loss!
three times,from2-6,1-6,and 0-5 to won tiebreak with Fokina, how stupid the Fokina is !!!
BWEHHHHH!
The double bounce from previous match with Zhang - god decided it is time to pay for it.
Fokina always finds a way to lose.
I know for Kina is a choker, so I’m just waiting for it to happen and sure enough if you double fall on Southpoint against them and he’s up 51 in the tiebreaker and you don’t see those points but how many of those did he miss?
menudo robo
How on Earth are we supposed to believe Fokina honestly thought this ball 3:10 went out. It is such an absurd way to stop a point ffs
I clicked this to see Rublev freak out. I didn't get my money's worth.
That Russian is so tedious...hope he never wins a GS!!!
very strange hope
yea because god forbid an athelte to be pissed in tense moments of a game 🙄
I'ma just leave this here. Davidovich Fokina - Rublev Rome 2023 1st set tiebreak 6-3 --- 8-10 Davidovich Fokina - Rublev Dubai 2023 2nd set tiebreak 6-1 --- 6-8 Draw your own conclusions
