Yuki Terumi the devs have talked pretty openly about not liking the malks in BL1. They want a more serious “oracle” kind of Malk rather than a fishmalk this time round.

I swear, some people want their games to look like hollywood movies and nothing else. Unless the graphics are utter garbage I really don’t understand that mentality. The criticism is that this game looks like current gen and not next gen, seriously? The beautiful universe and lore of World of Darkness is coming alive once again and it will hopefully come with great plot, great rpg elements and a chilling atmosphere. If you have never played the first game, I would advise you to give this universe a shot guys, you wont regret it.

What I just saw in the Trailer does not even look like current gen. Don't get me wrong I am really excited for the Game - Im currently re-playing the first bloodlines. BUT I dont appreciate false advertising thats the only thing I dont Like about it. The last game had an iconic story ... Why advertising graphics when you can advertise the REAL deal? this is better than the recent trailer. can’t believe they ditched the 5 years of work left behind by Hardsuit Labs for a half-baked one which spits on everything Bloodlines is. It’s not Bloodlines, it’s Lines of Blood. Being a thin-blood as a victim of a mass embrace makes more bloody sense than being a 400 year old male-bodied woman called PHYRE that awakens with a THIN-BLOODS voice in her head
Let's ignore the reason this project wasn't finished, it was because that studio you idolize it wasn't able to finish what they started, almost half year without them showing anything, so they had to go. Both have sense, except that the supposed Thin-Blood was going to be rewarded with Diablerizing a Lower Generation, wonder how a Thin-Blood managed to beat a lower Generation Kindred by himself, plus, Diablerizing someone it doesn't grant you a Clan welcome party, it has a lot of sense, because Hardsuit said so... Well, this studio had their assets, their work is copyrighted, once they got removed, unless you buy those assets, it's their property, given it's better to work from scratch and this project wasn't moving anywhere, reason why they stopped updating it, you just delete it. To each their own, but, the new project has the atmosphere right in the trailer, this was Hardsuit with yet another of their marketing tricks, "we don't take ourselves serious! Look! A stop sign!"

Fired and replaced with Alexandre Mandryka; the guy known for working on the "iconic" franchises of Assassin’s Creed, Warhammer 40,000, & Far Cry. Absolutely terrible decision. The quarterly reports will show.

tbh i dont mind the graphics at all, for example yakuza franchise was always known to have slight dated graphics but they are brilliant games overall, however they shouldnt really say ''next gen'' as if it does lives up to that quality
Next gen is more than graphics tho, maybe the gameplay feel and mechanics will represent next gen, Uncharted looked amazing but played like a last gen action game, gears looked next gen as well but played like all the other gears, everygame this gen just looks amazing and some have physics that would destroy a PS3 or 360 but overall it's mainly the fluidity and graphics that separates these last two gens, but TBH max Payne 3 as and Batman Arkham fluidity may have been ahead of their time

tcr have never even heard of the original and have zero clue why it's popular. They could not have chosen a worse developer to hand this off to. Their entire portfolio consisting of walking sims where you interact with no one wasn't enough of a clue that they are not equipped to handle a sequel to one of the most beloved RPGs of all time, apparently.

I was going to go for a Tremere on my first play, but people with ties to the Devs are leaving small hints that there will be some unique immersion in playing a Malk without a prior knowledge of the game :)

i think people need to realize that these dance animations were almost certainly made exclusively for this trailer. of course they look kinda janky, i wouldn't expect them to put maximum time and effort into some extra scenes for a 2 minute update trailer to get a little hype rolling when the animation talent is better used polishing the actual in-game cutscenes and animations, which already look way better than in previous footage. plus, if animation/graphical quality is all that matters to you in a video game, then you might be looking into the wrong franchise, lmao. and come on, just look at the environments. the final product is going to be consistently atmospheric and visually pleasing, regardless of the quality of the character models overall (which don't even look nearly as bad as some people are making them out to be in the first place), just like the first game was.
i seriously hope there's some interactive dancing in the clubbing scene not some "classic vtmb retro style" parkinsons that they displayed in the showcase, even has the potential to be a mechanic for feeding

If story and dialogue is what matters to you, you might be looking into the wrong game as well, since the lead writer, who worked on the previous game, was fired. The game was given to an entirely new development team to "finish". This is most likely going to be a trainwreck, if it ever releases.

To anyone thats complaining 'ugh, this is gonna be a flop! This looks bad! The animations are bad!'. Don't forget, the previous game wasn't even properly finished and it still managed to get a cult following in the end. As long as it brings to the table the same compelling RP, story exploration, character interaction and lore that made the original great, that is all that the game really needs. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Having said that, I too have my doubts, but only because I'm a hard sceptic of any games coming out nowadays. Though I'm still looking forward to seeing this game, and I know/hope a lot of other people are excited to see it too!

Hello again, it's been 15 years. I played your prequel on a Pentium 4 and GeForce 6600.
Such a wasted potencial firing the original designer/writer that made the original so special. And to have the credits song be Swamped XX by lacuna coil to bring back memories of the original.
I remember loving the first one so much. Like playing with all different clans and unlocking their different abilities. Kind of like making you play the game in a different way every time. It was still kind of linear-ish tho but still it was pretty fun.
I just want to make the "default club dance" from Bloodlines 1 everywhere I want and I will be happy.

They deleted Chris "Fallout 2" Avellone's work... They fired the original Bloodlines writer Brian Mitsoda after using him for PR conferences... They hired a former ubisoft employee to finish the game... And they delayed it (again) to 2021... Well like Obi Wan used to say, i have a bad felling about this (About the Chris Avellone story : Yes, the studio had to take distances with Chris, but delete he's work (which was whitout a doubt excellent, given it was written by Chris Avellone), really ?)

Man I can't wait to dive into The World of Darkness again, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines is definitely the best Vampire RPG and one of the best RPG because of its writing and world and Bloodlines 2 looks very much like it.
As long as it gives me the same feel and vibes of the first game, I'll be incredibly content.
It has the same lead writer, Brian Mitsoda (who also voiced Romero, the graveyard ghoul) and the same composer, Rick Schaffer.

Gives me Dishonored vibes. I hope dialogue options are still as prominent as in the first game. I love me an RPG with dialogue options.
I want to see an updated game play trailer or at the very least walking around scenes and listening to the street sounds and night clubs. The last game play trailer has almost numb all hype. It was too quite and felt empty. That was 1 thing I loved about the first bloodlines. It felt like a city even though it wasn't you could ease drop on conversation. Listen to the clubs on repeat or just sit in the apartment look out the window and listen to the radio. It felt alive. The last game play trailer lack all of that. I need to see they are listening to fans before my hype can come back.

I love the first game to bits, hell I make it a point to give it a playthrough every year, but I’ll be the first to admit that it hasn’t exactly aged well - while graphics are fairly low on my own list of priorities, it definitely shows its age - so I’m looking forward to this.
As a MASSIVE fan of VTMB, this is my wildest dream coming true. I finished VTMB a few days ago AGAIN over the last few years, and it's seriously such a darling.
Watching this reminded me of the loosely based TV series in 1996 titled Kindred: The Embraced. Sadly, it was cancelled due to the main actor dying in a motorcycle accident. I really adored that show. I'm sure I'm going to love this game just as much. It's been a long time coming.

Just started playing Masquerades 2004 on my laptop it goes 15fps...even though For Honor on minimal goes 20-50fps :/ but till playing it, for 2004 its REALLY impressive game, having a lot of options and dialogues + character design and their character

The game looks cool. I'm bummed out there's not an option for 3rd person though. I love being able to see my custom character in action, otherwise than why even bother customizing them? So I can see them in a cut scene once every few hours? I guess.
You've just given me a reason not to buy this...
Personally I like to max Charisma and Stealth in these types of games so if there is cool dialog / hidden passages I am 100% happy :)
In Bloodlines 1 you needed at least 4/10 points in chrasma and subterfuge to find willing... Blood doners

I think it got on the event because it has next gen ray tracing. But the art style over all is of current gen and maybe older. But really this is on here to generate more buzz for the game since the franchise has only a cult following.

I just heard about the delay of the release of this game and how 2 of the lead employees involved in its production were fired. I no longer have any faith in this game or in the people producing it. I dont believe it is ever going to come out. I think its going to be in Dev Hell forever.

My question is, if you start as a thinblood and later in game you can become a clan member, does it mean we have to kill and consume (diabelerie) somebpdy of that clan to become that clan member?
Hope they keep or have similar outfits from the first game, the clothes and outfits for the girls in the first game was fun and unique
Probably some will be DLC but def not all of them. The outfits from the first game were very early 2000's and this game takes place in modern day.
this trailer at least captured the flavor of the original: sexy and evil.

gonna play vampires the masquerade bloodlines 1 fast, before this game comes out. i seriously loved this trailer. kinda reminds me of bioshock 1 and 2.
No hurry, the release is faaaar off still. You'll have time to play Bloodlines several times as different vamps. Oh, now I wanna do that too. I guess this is next gen compared to the original. :-)

Wish we could get some system specs for the PC version so I could get my PC properly upgraded.
They say they want to assure people they are on track to release.... eventually, but are offering anyone who pre-ordered a refund. That does not instill alot of confidence in the project.
