    • I actually did do a test like Peterson said. I pushed my man verbally to nearly a breaking point. I needed to know that even if he lost his temper, he wouldn't hit me, like had happened to my mother and grandmother. He didn't loose his temper. His voice got very low and he said slowly, "Shut. Up." The he walked away. I never did that again. Didn't need to. He's been an amazing husband of over 3 decades and I have made it my job to bless him in every possible way. He's been an excellent father. I don't regret the test.

    • Worse than liars. If only that was the case of a couple wrongdoers or thieves here and there looking to start trouble, no it’s much more sinister than most people would think, these guys have their own private islands and devil worshipping cults/agendas and they’ve infiltrated themselves all around you and your children smiling and waving at them shaking all your hands and brainwashing them using the tvs but you’re all too blind to see it. You’re all being controlled by them, everything you see and hear. They’re coming for your kids all of them. It starts with them, they have their own beliefs and everything. They have a very strange obsession with children it’s part of all their rituals. At this point i know i sound batshit insane but this really is the truth idk how much longer it has to be right in our faces before anyone does anything about it. It has been reported numerous times by numerous people and still people still think it’s some kind of myth, wether those things exist or not is something else, this is what these people do at their gatherings. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn they even make live sacrifices at those fucked up gatherings

"Testing" your man with mind games completely undermines the foundation of trust and gives the man no option but to (1) treat you as a child with no capacity for integrity or (2) stop associating with you. Furthermore I'm becoming increasingly aware that it is often the case that when men "fail" his partner's tests (usually by giving her the benefit of the doubt, giving her the trust and openness she claims to desire) she comes to resent her man for showing such weakness and starts to abuse him psychologically and emotionally.

    • I whole heartedly agree. If my spouse or a friend of mine try to test me with those "games" then I will definitely walk away. Personally, I think most people who set up these mind "games" are unconsciously insecure about themselves and deep down, they are afraid that their partners would leave them one day. In the very core, they are afraid of being alone. Trust your gut feeling when it comes to relationships and just be your authentic self, always. Because when we truly accept and love ourselves, we will atract people with the same frequency who will accept and love us for who we are. When we truly love ourselves, there is no need to create any "games", "tests" or drama, because we realize that Life itself has enough challenges for us and our relationships, and those who are not meant for us will naturally fall off as time goes by.

    @CourtneyCoulson@CourtneyCoulson Жыл бұрын
    • It's not about being manipulative, it's just an unconscious behaviour we have as a woman. Pushing the guy to see his reaction is important and can save us if he has not the right behaviour. And only in conflict, you can learn a lot about somebody.

    • @@isis6256 if that's true, then why doesn't every woman behave like that? I don't do it, my friends don't do it. We were raised with male siblings, that could be a factor. We went to unsegregated schools, maybe that's it. Who can say, but what I can say is that this isn't instinct, it's learned behaviour, even if it's unconscious. Does he sound bitter? 2 - is his tone sarcastic often and rude, belittling, defensive, arrogant, etc...Does he boast a lot? 3 - Does he renegotiate promises and deals often? Bad signs! Here is an ex: even w/ business men, a client will agree to give me an hour to get ready to have them come over for an appt and then call that next day and say "I'll be right over in a few mins" and you say, "what happened to our agreement to have you give me an hour's notice so I could have time to get ready and plan this?" And he quips back, "you don't need an HOUR do you?" BAD BAD SIGN! This kind of disrespect and rudeness is his deep insecurity as a weak man and strong women w/ integrity sure don't need a weak baby-man to have to correct or raise! NO thank you! 4 - do they speak highly of ppl or put others down a lot? Do they act jealous of others' successes? Bad BAD sign if so! 5 - also - body language...if they give you looks like you're not worth their time, and they snarl or roll their eyes alot in a dismissive way, RUN for the door sweetie! Interact w/ him at restaurants, at events, to see how he treats others and how he REACTS to others. If a man never hits you physically but harms you emotionally and that is often - you are dealing w/ a narcissist! Never marry a narc or someone who is mentally ill. Oorrrr displays of aggression and dominance is attractive to women maybe she wants to feel some sparks - she done one check in early stages of dating and it was attractive so she got into a long term relationship and then he stops doing the thing that attracted her in first place and she’s just trying to find it again Ooorr maybe she just genuinely and earnestly disagrees with something and is trying to speak up and it’s not some sort of check at all Oooorr maybe the women isn’t as submissive as the guy originally thought and she’s actually low in agreeableness and he didn’t run his checks thoroughly Plus men will also keep checking women are still submissive to them throughout the whole relationship, especially after kids as he wants to know his kids are being raised how he has envisioned My husband definitely comes up with random things for me to do or new plans that to me look fairly unimportant and I’m sure he’s subconsciously testing to see how I respond to his command Sorry for the massive paragraph! • True. Also how a man treats people in service/servers, others children, the elderly and animals, sometimes especially animals because a kicked cat won't spread the word and expose them where a vocal human might. I had my first proper date after seeing a man a little for a few week... and through playful teasing and joking, we were BOTH testing each other and I have some green flags and 'yesses' of course, but also, some reservations about how he copes, manages and takes care of himself too. I'm going through my own stuff and I understand him....But I'm not going to stand by while he goes off the rails, nor be his mother, nor his rehabilitation centre or saviour, or project manager. I am my own project right now. However, from a place of love, I can support him, be his cheerleader, help him and help take care of him but he has to take the initiative himself mostly, pour back into me/us or else it's unfair, one sided and I'll have to break my own heart to keep myself going and evolving. I'm not going to be dragging him through life, but if he wants to walk alongside me, he's most welcome. I'm not ditching him, that was my old, trauma based defense mechanism sad way of being.. However, I'll address and see a few things, see what happens, have some fun too of course and learn some new things. He's going through a crisis, I'm going through a transformation after my own crisis. We may not work out but it had better be for good reasons. Everyone deserves a chance, grace and love. But not at our own personal detriment. I used to be attracted to horrible men who were just cruel, not in control (raised in trauma and abuse so it's understandable that my radar was off), but I'm being more realistic and sensible and yet admitting that this strong, masculine energy viking like man is SOOOOO appealing to me and yet, he has to have balance and be addressing and healing his demons. I'm happy to walk that road with him. And if not as his lover which is more intimate and intense, then I'm still happy to help as a friend and stand back and see. I can't overthink and worry too much but also not be over romanticising and excusing either. I find Dr Peterson so helpful. Men have needs and because of a fairly toxic society and maybe for some, a broken upbringing, they're tainted and conditioned and find it hard to heal because in toxic masculinity circles it "not manly". The other week, his shoulders were tense and just a little rub and he virtually melted, I cooked for him and he said he's not used to it, that almost broke my heart.. we need each other in so many ways and it's time we realise some truths. And I need to ask more questions about the interesting foster parents he had. There's treasure in there.

Pretty much every man would have a sour taste his mouth AT THE VERY LEAST towards the latter.

    @zelda12346@zelda12346 Жыл бұрын
    • This is behaviour that has extremely deep roots into our subconscious. It is not exactly that women plan out to test someone's boundaries or men plan the testing of her loyalty or whatever. This 'testing' is not a bad thing. You would probably condemn women for making a bad choice in partner when anything goes wrong, which would be seriously hypocritical.

    • @@gusjeazer if you're trying to argue against my position, then you're defending people acting out because it's just a test. • @@zelda12346 no I don't defend people acting out because it's a test. That is not really what Jordan Peterson is talking about either. This '''''testing''''''' is part of how men and women interact with each other on a fundamental level. Your example is a single instance that seems to have happened once in a single relationship you probably know very little about. This is not what is meant by either me nor by JP. Yes, clip and clear contrived tests would of course fall under this testing, but that is not the norm and not what is meant.

    • I have never intentionally tested a man and maybe that's been my problem, as it does say in the Bible to test the spirit and to test a friend. Instead, by situations that arise let's me observe the reaction of a man 🤔... although some can fake it until you get into a relationship with them, then they pull the rug from under you, or maybe that's just been me🤔

      @judithbenitez8866@judithbenitez8866 Жыл бұрын
    • @@zelda12346 Thank you for sharing your comment! It was exactly what was on my mind. As a man, if a woman delivers a contrived test and does not have children it is a definite red flag and I definitely will not be looking to initiate a long term relationship with that person. And if I did continue the relationship it would be so that I could conduct a few of my own contrived tests just to prove a point. I feel as if I would never initiate a test without being tested first as I normally rely on observations. I think introducing your partner to your family is the natural way of "testing" them and should be obvious. Most of the actions you decide to take in the presence of your partner are actions that you are saying that you would want to have continued so think on that before acting impulsively. I think if you were to contrive a test of your partner's aggressiveness (because women can be aggressive too) then you are wanting to see more of that and would then build a habit of experiencing that, which is the exact opposite of what most heterosexual males are looking for in a female partner. Contrived testing of your partner's traits in any relationship is probably one of the worst things you could do in my opinion. You really just have to have patience and not be in need of a relationship all the time so that you can get a good look at your prospector. And if we were as a whole society able to build patience and practiced abstinence from sex without the intention of possibly having kids then we will all experience better intimate relationships because we would have learned to focus on the things that bring us together and not the things that divide us. If any one reading this feels as if they are a codependent being all the time, just take some deep breaths in those lonely moments and practice breathwork daily so you can learn to handle your stress better because no one will be able to do that for you.
