Making a Backlit Honeycomb Charcuterie Board
In this woodworking video, I’ll show you how to make an illuminated charcuterie board that glows using epoxy and LED lights. You’ll love this LED honeycomb serving board. This backlit serving board will impress your guests at dinner parties! I cut the hexagons using a homemade hexagon cutting jig and laid them out in a honeycomb pattern laced with epoxy resin.

hexagons are the bestagons
Very cool. I realy enjoyed this video.
That turned out great! Something like that could also be fun for a piece of wall art too.
Sure! I'm obsessed with hexagons so I might end up doing some wall art too 😜
I bet Glen from DIY Creators channel would strongly approve of this project!
I would be honored!
That is absolutly genius! I never would have thought to light up a Chacuterie board...BEAUTIFUL!
For future reference, I think CA glue would be the way to go for keeping the hexagons secure to the bottom. This would make them more uniform so you don’t have to remove as much material from that side when flattening.
,a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you……
Thanks, appreciate it 😊
@@DIYMontreal Thank you very mutch... have a nice Weekend.... see you….
well done young lady, charcouterie boards taken to a higher level. Love it
Thank you!
Love the cutting board but blown away with the lights that you added.!!!!! Excellent job.
Thanks so much!
Really neat, Marie. That will make your next party a big hit. Bill
Well I don't know about that but at least I'm super excited about it! 😊
A Honeycomb dining table like this, with the hex's either half or quarter the size.
Clever, nice, useful. Really a good plan. Pity I am too far away for your dinner-parties.
Maybe one day! 😉
Marie is a next-level genius.
Super efekt ✌️🤓
Wow, I’ve never seen a board like this before! Really nice
Cool, thank you!
Really enjoyed that one. I will be back to watch more of yours.
Baller!
Very cool. It'd be better to use handles that have two bolts per handle, though. Someone holding that loaded tray might have the handle spin loose and dump everything, including your marvelous creation, into oblivion. This build was well done and the woodwork came out nicely, too. Thanks for the video!
If you put some neodymium magnets on the bottom of the hex board and washers in the corners of the base, you could have this on a wall with the lights on when you aren't presenting food on it! This is a cool project, It really is too nice to just leave it in a cabinet 99% of the time.

Nice job Marie, c’est super beau !!!
Merci!
Amazing to see something truly unique on KZhead. Kudos and congrats!
Appreciate that!
That looks cool with lights off. But I will say this, you are the hexagon master. Your dresser with hexagon front is awesome. I would love to try to make that one.
Thank you! 😊 Once you've made the jig, the sky's the limit!
You did a wonderful job on this charcuterie board. The LED's make this so unique. Your next party the guests will rave about it for sure. Bon Appetite!!
Thank you! Looking forward to it :)
Nice job, you know what your doing. Very professional. Stan in texas
Thanks 👍
That was relatively easier than I thought and it looks awesome !
Love it! Love it! Love it! Great job, Marie.
Thank you thank you!
Beautiful work Marie.
Thank you! 😊
Nice job Marie. Great final product.
Thanks!
Great job, Cherry wood is so beautiful, that board is gorgeous.
Thank you!
That hot glue made a hot mess. Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week.
Well, now I know what some family members will be getting for xmas this year. So. Freakin. Cool!! Tfs 🥰🥰
Nice! Enjoy the build :)
What a nice & refreshing video. Especially the pushing sound when the hexagons got cut. Clear facts, super work and out of mainstream. Love it.
Nicely Done. Good tip on glue thin boards. Idea for holding the hexagons down ... a little dab on good old fashion school paste. Highly recommend putting a kerf maker on your holiday wish list. Makes table saw dados a lot simpler. I got mine from Bridge City Tools
Right! Think you mentioned this before.. checking it out now, thanks!
Wonderful project and a very professional video.
Thank you very much!
Amazing!!!!!
Nice work lady
Very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh my God !!!!!!!!!!
You have a workshop that would make any artist. Envious good job❤ beautiful finished product
Just wow...its simply amazing. I've been crazy lately about honeycomb patterns in woodworking and this just blew me away!
Cool, so glad you like it! Been wanting to try this for a while and so happy I finally did.
Amazing work, Marie! It looks fantastic! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Much appreciated 😊
Great idea! That looks fantastic!
Thank you!
That's really nice. The neopixels took me a bit by surprise. I always love seeing women combining creativity and tech, I'm about to embark on a laser cutter journey and this gives me some ideas. Looks like my 2023 hydrofoil moulds may have to wait a bit longer.
Wonderful! Clean and organized work area are impressive!
To help with sanding I bought a off cut of hall runner carpet, it stops the bouncing when sanding and it’s easy to vacuum the sawdust out of the carpet when finished. With the help of a heat gun warm the back of the mold and this will help with releasing it from the resin project. Like the cutting board defiantly a talking piece at the next dinner party.
Brillantcette idée pour coller les planches.
Two things. Awesome project. From the sled to the finished design! Sounds like you need a drum sander!! Slow, but you don't have to worry about knives and stuff. Also, alcohol dissolves hot glue! Scraper seemed to work, but maybe that will help you in the future. OK that was 3 things... lol
Nice Touch With The Leds!!! I find running my planner on the slow speed when planning epoxy boards its easier on the motor .
Hexagons are the bestagons
Wow! Just wow. That was insane. What beautiful work. Greetings from Nova Scotia.
That looks awesome. You did a great job.you are very talented 👏
I appreciate that!
Credit where credit is due I say.keep up the good work 👏
Well that was fantastic, love it! 👌
Thanks!
What an awesome and beautiful serving tray. Thank you for sharing your awesome project with us today, stay safe happy and healthy, from Henrico County Virginia
Thank you!
Great job, that looks awesome
Thanks!
Wow, you are so inspiring for a lot of us women out here. Subscribing??? MOST DEFINITELY!!!! Thank you for these videos. I'm off to watch & learn some more from you 🥰 Thanx again from New Zealand 💓
I really like this, great job.
Thanks!
Another great project, something I think my wife would love to have. Love your video's, please keep them coming.
Thank you, appreciate it!
Turned out amazing. Going to have to make the sled for my new table saw cause it will definitely come in handy
I highly recommend the sled. Once you have it you can create so many different projects!
Love how that turned out and the lights really make it unique!
Thank you!
I really loved watching you create this.
Great build looks awesome .
Thanks
Very nice! You are braver than I am sending that through the DW735. I wonder if a dab of CA glue + accelerator to set the hexagons in the mold would have saved the step of scraping the hot glue?
In hindsight I wonder that too. Definitely worth a try if I were to do this again. Don't want to do that to my trusty planer again!
Beautiful work, love the lights, a very nice touch. Cherry is always an excellent choice of wood, that finish sure did make it pop!
Thank you very much!
wow that's beautiful !
Thank you very much!
Wow that is a very aggressive. You did great
Can you add me to your next dinner party invite list???? LOL! GREAT JOB!
lol Of course!! Thank you!
I love love love the lights! You are so creative!
Very cool! Nice touch of class and great video! I really enjoyed watching your build process and narrative describing your thought process. Thank you for posting!
Nice job! If you want to get rid of hotglue, spray some alcohol under the dabs. It penetrates under and lifts the dabs off the surface.
Hi I found you on Reddit. Super inspiring to see another woman doing this kind of thing! The charcuterie board came out great btw
Thank you!
Always very thought provoking, your work(and really clean shop)...rr Normandy, Fra.
Super cool! Thank you for sharing your method- it's giving me a lot of fun ideas.
Beautiful job Marie, I love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
Such a cool build, and a great idea perfectly executed. Well done. I’d love to do something similar, but use several species of wood.
Came out very nice.
looks fantastic
this is such a unique idea, love it!
Thank you! Glad you like it!
That is so nice. Really good job on the build and sharing it. Thank you. I am in the middle up a COMPLETE shop upgrade just I can start producing resin projects. I think it is so amazing if used right.
This is awesome!
Thanks!
Thank you very much for sharing your work! It came out great.
Thanks!
Cool Projekt ❤
So when’s the party? I want to see the tray in action. 😁 It is beautiful and you did a fantastic job.
lol just as soon as I find someone who can cook and clean 😜
@@DIYMontreal The only time I got to visit Montreal was a class trip when I was 12 to see Expo 67. I really need to get back there. Even after all these years I remember it as a beautiful city.

Love it!
Nice job !
Genius idea, gorgeous product, great walkthrough - what's not to like??
So cool. Thx for the video
You bet!
WOW very cool !!
Just a little tip: If you are going to clean hot glue and don't want to scrap the surface... Apply a bit of isopropyl alcohol, leave a few seconds, and watch the blob of glue come off easy. I don't know how it works.... but works like magic.
Thanks! Someone else mentioned a similar tip and I look forward to trying it next time I find myself in this situation.
Love it 👍
awesome!!!
Very cool!!
Thanks!
Fantastic
Thanks
Awesome!
