"but he shouldn't have touched you!"
recently, my computer broke down, so i'm sharing with my mom for the time being. please be patient with my uploads, as they may not be consistent :(
anne with an e holds a special place in my heart, and the brief plot line about billy and josie really spoke to me. i have a love-hate relationship with this edit. at first, it had a lot of potential, but around the end, it kind of crumbled, but i wanted to get it done. i believe that the video still portrays the message that i wanted to depict, but it's not the best. i really admire this show and am praying that netflix or another tv channel sees the mistake of ending it, and renews it. more happy videos of this tv show will be coming soon :)
anyways, i hope you enjoy!

I believe she truly knows how terrible it is but she knows that in that time they had no choice, she believed she couldn’t stand up for herself and that it would ruin her. It’s terribly sad but it was the mother’s reality as it was too late for her as she’s gotten older because otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to do anything. In that time she grew up women were there to comfort men and she knows she can’t do anything

  • A few weeks ago my friend posted something about how not all men are terrible, but enough for all of them to be perceived that way. I’m a guy, but this put me in a bad place for a few days bc I realised just how many of us are terrible, and dogs, and pigs. I’m so sorry for all the women who have been traumatised or ruined in some way at our hands.

    @figthegiant9324@figthegiant93243 жыл бұрын
    • Don't ever apologize for something you didn't do. Some men are bad, some women are bad; what are we gonna do about it? Also, it's not that there are enough to be perceived that way but everyone makes it appear so. We talk much more about women's issues than men's issues and it makes it appear like men are just worse than women. However, if we addressed men's issues then we would have less women claiming that all men are trash. When do we ever hear feminists talk about how men are much more likely to commit suicide or be victims of homicide? I never do. That isn't to say all men are good and all women are bad. I'm just saying that men are perceived as terrible people because we never talk about their issues. This is giving the impression that all men are oppressors and women are victims of society when it couldn't be further from the truth.

He was not ashamed to be with her! Think about it! He was willing to give up EVERYTHING for Anne, including calling it quits with Winnifred, because he loved Anne instead. And when he called it quits with Winnifred, he didn’t even know if whether Anne loves him, but he just did it because HE LOVES HER!

  • Okay, I'm just gonna put this out there. Yes, Gilbert is great for standing up for women's rights but I find it extremely annoying that they ignore Anne when she talks about it but listen to him. They only all agree aftet a male explains it. For me this kinda defeats the whole purpose of the message.

  • I think it was clever to make billy this toxic masculine character to emphasise the struggles women faced in society from people like him. It's funn that Montgomery made the character of billy one that swooned for anne and wanted to marry her. As nice as that is, i think its clever the series really emphasised challenges in society particularly women's rights and social etiquette aswell as problems concerning segregation among race and religion. Its was very well portrayed even in a modern day show about a story set in a very different era.

  • It's a really nice edit 💗. Makes us really feel for women at that time. Not that the same things are not happening again and again in this day and age too but there's a lot more awareness for it now. I love Anne so much for showing empathy to Josie at a time when no one believed the victim. As much as I admire Gilbert, I hate that he just pretended nothing happened at the Barn dance while Anne stood up for her bully immediately. And the fact that no one listened to Anne when she was talking about it but everyone was all ears when Gilbert read the article that Anne wrote. Just goes to show how women are percieved as liars and stupid by other women too even when they are talking about their own experiences and rights. But still I appreciate that he fought for Anne and her beliefs.
