Her career was so battered by injuries, but she continued to press on and had a great finish. I wish her the best. She was one of the first names I grew to know when becoming a fan of the sport and playing

I remember watching her play in Dubai in 2005 when she took out Svetlana Kuznetsova at this tournament as a tenacious teenage girl with this massive forehand which made Svetlana scamper for her shots. In that match, she gave us a glimpse that she will be a threat in the future. It was sad and humbling to watch her end her glorious career on the very same court where it all actually started great things for her. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
A lovely person, the best for her in the next chapter. I would have loved to seeing Martina there, they were almost invencible together.

Like many club players around the world I mostly play doubles. whenever I want to remind myself how doubles should be played, I just watch a game with Sania and Martina playing. There's always something new to learn.
