Did the CIA Actually Sell Crack in the 1980s? | The War On Drugs

2024 ж. 28 Сәу.

The rumours have circulated for decades. Did the CIA flood the inner cities of the US with crack cocaine in the 1980s? Was the American government actually responsible for the crack epidemic?
Often dismissed as a conspiracy theory, but passionately believed by huge sections of the population - the idea that US intelligence agencies knowingly protected drug traffickers and played a role in bringing cocaine into the US is one of the most often repeated stories of the War on Drugs.
But what is the truth to these allegations? It turns out the real story is perhaps even stranger than the street-level gossip.
This is how one reporter exposed a web of CIA cover-ups, and how the rest of the media destroyed him for doing so.

He after Ukraine to get them to come to negotiations and free the southern region that doesn't wanna be apart of Ukraine after being bombed for 8 years nonstop and keep Ukraine neutral as a buffer between Russia and nato.

Nicaragua was a country of 2,8 million people and everyone knew the names of these Managua gangsters. (Which is also why the Sandinistas got so much support from the normal people - they did NOT want these names to be back in Managua). I can't tell if these guys are paid by the Government to spy on Americans or simply grifters. I suspect they ate camouflage games for Big Tech moves they are all profiting from right now. @dogbeardbirdbeer@dogbeardbirdbeer Жыл бұрын
    • This piece completely relies on what was said by 5 sources at the most, so what's up with the "tremendous amounts of research?" Your father made have done much research but Vice's piece leaves very much unexplained. They couldn't even describe how the cocaine was supposed to have gotten from the fields and smuggled into the U.S. The contras were encamped in Honduras and coca is not grown in those areas of Central America to which they had access. They had no ships, motor boats, or planes for transporting contraband from the tiny area where governments tolerant of them allowed them to operate. They were not like FARC in Colombia that were virtually the masters of much of the coca farming territory in Colombia. The street seller in this piece talks about making as much as $3 million a day but the Contras hardly had any money to purchase weapons after U.S. support was halted and some weapons shipments from Iran ended. So how was it that the contras made nothing from this lucrative trade? By 1989 their side had anyway won elections in Nicaragua. The easiest thing is to point a finger at the contras which the NY Times made into some sinister terrorist group at the same time as it kept whitewashing Sandinista terror and suppression of civil freedoms. You father did a great injustice by making it appear that the very few individuals who he heard connected to the drug trade were practically the leaders of the contras, thus throwing a stain on them. He didn't bother to investigate that their association with the contras was long ended and the contras themselves looked askance at them. It would be good if actual research was undertaken both on the crack trade and the contras. A report consisting of quick not taking on what others say is not what qualifies as genuine research.

I became interested in Gary Webb's work, and was shocked and saddened by his death. I don't know what the statute of limitations are for what the Agency was doing, but even at this late date, some accountability would send a message. Accountability is something that's been lacking too long in certain segments of our society. Thank you for keeping this story fresh. This needs to be remembered. 💔🤬

Look at Oliver North - he took the fall for the Iran-Contra scandal - where military parts were being sold to Iran in order to give money to the Contras. LOTS of conservatives see him as a hero. He never served time in prison. He got a "suspended prison sentence", parole, and a fine. Heck, the guy had a show on FOX News.

A part of that job was opening cavities in corpses and then shoving bags of white powder inside. He thought (or knew) that it was heroin. That was what he was directed to do. He got them from the Golden triangle area in southeast Asia and all of this information can be looked up online and of course in books. He got drugs from the Golden triangle inorder to avoid buying drugs at a much higher price from Italian mobsters and also to not have to deal with the Italians anymore.
