Kirkland was a warhead. Either that guy destroyed, got destroyed or did both at the same time in vrtually ALL of his fights. The one with Angulo was insanity.
Arguably the Angulo fight was more brutal.. and i think it WAS

@@LucieOne yea the angulo fight is in my top 15 of most brutal fights. I was watching saad muhammad vs marvin Johnson the other day. I dont know how that scrap wasn't fight of the year in 1977.
@@exnihilio89 MSM - Johnson was the kind of fight that seemed like those guys probably peeled a few months off of each other's lives. Just a savage fight.
This fight ruined the kids' career.
He never had a career. He had horrible stamina. After round 4 he would drop his hands. He simply didn’t have the mental toughness.
Tapia was never the same after this! One of the best fights I’ve seen none the less

Kirkland was one of those guys who, when you had him hurt, you had to get him out of there. Because if you didn’t, you’d regret it in the later rounds.

I always thought this referee was terrible. If you’re going to stop it, you stop the guy doing the punishment. This hand in between the fighters looks like your trying to put space between teenagers from grinding in a high school dance.

Tapia didnt use his jab at all and Kirkland was so susceptible to it. It wasn't that great of a fight. Hagler/Hearns was the best ever in boxing monstrosities
He never had a jab. Thats why he couldn’t keep Kirkland of him.
