Duran was such a smooth operator. He looks like he came out of the womb fighting. It looks so natural with nothing forced.
❤
He was a born fighter.
Nn de @@MakaveliRaider
he's the most natural fighter of all time
I never get tired of watching this fight. What a slugfest it was. Duran proved once again that he is one of the greatest fighters who ever lived.
Yes
Perhaps, the greatest😊@shuntavaisjohnson345
Imienso Duran.... Pero habria sido mejor un parejo ... Quizas.... Sin embargo una pelea historica... Una pelea durisima para los dos... Tremenda paciencia de Duran, capaz de re empiezar despues asaldos a favor de Iran...

GOAT
Duran what a fighter, Barkley was brilliant as well they dont make em like that anymore legends of the ring.
The last mountain the great Duran would climb came in this remarkable win at 37... round 11, wow.
One of the best fights I've ever watched❤️
Duran boxing skills are timeless 🥊🤌🏻👌🏻
Duran, high ring IQ, beautiful head movement and counter-punching despite his advanced age.
And a great chin. He was tough as nails.
Yes
Duran, one of the greatest fighters ever.
Roberto Duran a true all time great.
DUran is so relaxed in the ring, even though his facial expressions say otherwise lol
Lol but he was. If u watch many of his fights he always remains composed.
Controlled violence at its best. Duran was mean as a junk yard dog
Duran Really had no business in there With Barkley. But of course this is how legends are made.
I remember this back in the day, great fight. Tough to score.
No rehydration clause or any stipulations a real GOAT.
Great fight! A true classic!
I went to Duran's house in Panama while on vacation visiting my mom and took a picture with him and got a fist bump greeting by the champ. The same hand of stone that KO'd so many other great fighters.
What year? That's awesome.
What a fight!! Classic boxing match!!
When Duran was at his best a warrior
The best lightweight in the history of the sport
The greatest lightweight in the history of boxing and one of the pound, 4 pound greats
At one point wasn't he 72-0 ? Loco
I only watched this great fight yesterday but hear i am again watching it as it's one of the best middleweight fights you'll see.
Duran just outsmarted the great Barkley. Durans ring Intel, technic, generalship... really amazing...6xs I've watched this fight, at least...
Duran had a great deal of experience over barkley and he was just that good. Barkley wasn't the best boxer but the size was plenty enough to close that gap differential.😅
@@lime455boxing funny mate if you actually do it, for example you don’t need to be the best boxer to win a boxing match. I don’t mean it quite that simple but if say 2 fighters came out to box, stick and move style. Nobody knows who’d win. Boxing is about the finer details the things you either got or not, nobody can teach Heart. It’s why I got brought up doing it- being honest I didn’t like it too much when I was forced out running in the cold and hated it. But what does everyone remember me for as a child Jamie the boxer
This is boxing. No running
💪🏻💯
Everyone on their feet cheering the old warrior on to an epic victory - A breathtaking display of mutual inspiration.
Still thrilled watching boxing match of the legendary Roberto Duran a wordclass fighter from Panama. The hands of stone is truly amazing💪
Roberto duran and Mike tyson-these two fighters when in good condition were unbeatable. They should have retired with no loss.
I agree with you 100%. When properly prepared, there was no better fighter than Roberto Duran!
1989, Y Durán lo volvió a lograr... 🤜🤛
Incredible
Out of all Boxers Duran was one of my all time favorite boxers. He was considered one of the Kings of boxing. Out of the four kings, Thomas Hearns, Marvelous Hagler, Sugar Ray leonard and Roberto Duran. Duran was my favorite. Not many achieved what these men achieved. And Roberto won five title championships. He wasn't called fists of stone for nothing! Remember Barkley was in his prime while Duran was considered to be at the end of his boxing career. also Duran was only 5' 7 " while Barkley was 6' 1"
Duran had lost to Hearns by KO in the 2nd round in 1984 while Barkley had TKO"d Hearns in the 3rd round in 1988 and won by SD over 12 rounds in 1991 in a rematch 2 years after he had lost to Duran in 1989.
@@JAG8691And Iran lost to Duran in this fight. What is your point?
The Weight Difference on the Night 🌙 must've been HUGE, I mean there was 3 pounds ⚖ at the weigh in. Duran was NO 160lbs Fighter - nor 154lbs for that matter, the fact he competed at those weights 🏋♀️ is Amazing, the sheer Grit & Tenacity of the Man 👨 was well worth applauding indeed👌👏
And with no catch weight or rehydration clauses nonsense they do now a days to get a advantage to win.
@@ThePeterReyes Not to mention those Tinpot Alphabet bodies whom demand outrageous amount of cash from a Fighter's purse to defend their useless/worthless World Titles - at the same time they have the nerve to introduce "Interim" & "Super" of their Divisions as well, no wonder the normal guy on the street doesn't know sweet fuck all about Boxing, and thier Fighters
Never cut weight for wrestling, huh
@@montewold2223 huh?
Ever get involved in a street fight? You want Roberto Duran on your side.
In a documentary I watched about him he says he was not a boxer, but a fighter.
He would be one of the best street fighters
@@astar23_ yeah boxing was so natural to him. When it came to inside fighting he was the best.
Foreal!!!💪🏻💯
it's actually a mismatch, I don't think the promoters had the right mind doing the contract, but Duran is a great fighter who was at the top of the game despite his age....
Duran was incredible!!!!!!!!!
Best fight between two warrior
I tell ya, its a real joy seeing DURAN When He is happy and victorious!! 😂
I was for Duran both are good fighters, watching from Philippines
Not the same Duran, but still a force to be reckoned with.
A younger Duran would have destroyed Barkley. The fact that Duran won clearly shows how great he was in one of boxing's golden ages. He, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard went at it. No ducking anyone.
@@dustylover100Duran challenged the other 3. He was fearless.
One of the best greatest upset in boxing. They won't allow this kind of matchmaking anymore of age discrepancies, kind of boring nowadays...
RDURAN is one of my best favorite boxers since 1980's knocking out big opponents just like our own MPacquiao.
This division is surely the king of all divisions. You just can't beat it for entertainment.
My All-Time favorite fighter winning my all-time favorite fight!
Roberto to był prawdziwy mistrz. Nie dał sobie zrobić krzywdy, a dodatkowo dawał rozrywkę widzom.
Wow...kudos to Barkley on this one....can't figure out how he got up and still dominate the last round. Fantastic video...keep rockin
Hands of stone ❤
Duran has beaten the odds again in this fight
Great boxing thanks
Duran going the distance with the great Marvin Hagler says all you need to know about his own greatness in the ring...
Notice how Gil Clancy honed-in on how he couldn't believe its Duran fighting for a MIDDLEWEIGHT title SEVENTEEN years after winning the Lightweight title.
RDuran is one of my best favorite boxers since the 1980 just like our very own MPACQUIAO KNOCKING OUT BIG OPPONENTS.
Quackiou has nothing on manos de piedras
When boxing was good
Duran, a true LIGHTWEIGHT. Barkley, a true MIDDLEWEIGHT. DURAN A TRUE LEGEND.
Duran, the LEGEND.
Duran Dios te de larga vida y bendiga 🙏🏻 a tus hijos y seré queridos 🙏🏻 Amen 🙏🏻
Such a great win for a legendary career. Keep in mind Barkley was coming off a TKO win against Thomas Hearns
TKO? Hearns was knocked silly!
Oh my life....I've never seen this bout of boxing before. What an absolutely stunning fight. Surely one of the best 12 rounds ever. The result was fair I believe....both boxers were evenly matched, both fighting like their lives depended upon it. At the end Duran looks like he had a real workout...Barkley looks like he got beaten up.....and Duran put his man down....if the fight would go to the death, I think Duran would get the win. Incredible stamina by Duran.
Roberto Duran! DU RAN DU RAN DU RAN!! BOOM!
The most amazing thing about this fight was Duran was 37 and Barkley 28.
Floyd was 36 when he whooped Canelos ass
You got to realize Duran came in well under the 160 lb weight, and Barkley probably cut weight and put 10-15 lbs back on before the fight.
comparing 23 year old flat footed mexican to a prime 28 year old black american boxer lol @@LOSTGPS
@@LOSTGPS he only out pointed CANELO but he never had CANELO in danger like Duran who would knock you out into a coma. Duran is still the greatest lightweight of all time.
A QA! QA no mo mo ok@@LOSTGPS
Duran in a free flow state
Lets get REAL. Duran, way way past his prime. Barkley, current world champion and in his prime. In the end, look who wins.
Please! TOPRANK! Before I die I need to see Duran v Sugar Ray Leonard 1 in this quality! Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase!
Why? That's when Duran said "No Más?
@@sammyoyola2042no, that’s when Duran won. The rematch was when he supposedly said no mas
I can't help but wonder Julio Caesar Chavez, And Duran in their prime lightweights. That would be one Hell of a fight
Thanks for the Memories
How do you feel, asked the refere.Like shit, answered Barkley. 😂
Incredible fight. Wish I could hear the crowd but mute the announcers.
Duran 1,68 m vs barkley 1,87 m Duran 37 vs barckley 28 years old Duran 🐐vs barckeley great champion
Duran is the history
Gracias chicos muy bueno ese combate vintage
My personal goat
Classic
Commentary by "Al" is ridiculous!
Tough to score? Barkley saved by the bell otherwise it was over, then he did not know where his cnr was.
After watching the slow ponderous heavyweights box it is so refreshing to see two amazing lightweights going at it hammer and tongs for 12 brutal rounds of boxing. Absolutely amazing fight. It should have been a draw .
Duran10x
Steel vs Stone
In my opinion Roberto Duran is more Technical fighter than Floyd Mayweather and his defense is so natural
Bruh 😂
HAHAAHAHAHAHA
@@Origin510 Duran is a legit top 10 maybe even top 5 ATG…what are you giggling about goofy??
@Gus375 Lmao you're all butt hurt because of why ?
@@Origin510 you can’t even answer the question..🤦🏽♂️
El cholo es una maquina
it's so funny to me that boxing commentators will just never say "Iran Barkley the black guy and Roberto Duran the Hispanic guy". they always gotta say trunks color. like it could be Jartavius Jenkins vs. Tom Smith and it'd be "Jartavius Jenkins in the white trunks... Tom Smith in the white trunks with blue trim"
lol it’s just the polite thing to say 😂
😂
legends
Fight of all time
Barkley looked too tight. Duran is "Hands of Stone".
Roberto turn pro August 3, 1967 at 118 pounds and winning 160 pound title in 1989 amazing
Won his first big fight by punching Ken Buchanan in the balls. Almost Kilt him.
Maybe he had a Sporran partner.
Trying to be funny ain’t funny, Roberto really had no right being 160lbs but his superior boxing, I mean his head movement is on another level and the timing of his punches, which was needed because he was 5,7 in against a 6 foot 1 guy! He never won every fight but my god did Duran have his nights. And this when he was 37. My fravourite of the 4 Kings due to his boxing IQ
@@jamiecarlin-KINGThats why he's my greatest lightweight ever bar none.At lightweight he was blazing fast,Crushing power, savage,Iq, extraordinary output, and rough house tactics that kept referee in limbo.
😊@@jamiecarlin-KING
Both great warrior .
Bernstein and Gil Clancy must've been watching a different fight, it's like they didn't see Duran's body punches.
Wow. Awesome
Al Berstein was so one sided when he announced fights. He wanted Barkley to win so bad you could smell it through your TV screen. He was terrible during this fight. Gil Clancy told you what was actually happening in this fight. Duran, outside of a couple of shots from Barkley, wiped the floor with the kid.
MANOS DE PIEDRA🗿🪨
The tall guy with all the reach misses every shot seems the best he can do is graze Robbie..
Duran was a great defensive fighter.
Duran is better then Leonard, never ducked anyone and had a much longer title rain
Much respect to Barkley
It’s like Pacquiao vs Margarito
man you wonder how they can take that punishment
From looking at the date of this fight I've worked out that on the very next day in Las Vegas Mike Tyson would defend his heavyweight crown against Frank Bruno. This was in Atlantic City, New Jersey right? I'm so pleased you've uploaded this! Thanks a lot. Hello from Britain.🇬🇧
he was my favorite boxe when i was a teenager hehe (betamax)
What a great fight. I think it was closer than any of the judges scored it.
I agree, but Duran still got the nod which I think was correct.
Funny how Hearns could not beat Barkley ( fought twice )but Duran knocked out Barkley, and Hearns destroyed Duran !!
knocked down*
@@betovilla2807i not agree with you about the scoring after Duran - Marvin, becouse Hagler won rightly the match. I agree with you about Hearns vs Roberto, fat and absolutely not ready for challenge Thomas, in my opinion Duran still needed as minimum 25-30 days more of hard training for challange Tommy. Here while, Roberto 37 years old destroyed and gave a lesson of inside boxing to Barkley. By the nine round Roberto seems brand new, full of energy, Barkley while had gave already his best not enought for beat Duran. A true masterpiece in his incredible career..
This version of duran destroys hearns.hearns knew it that's why ther wasn't a rematch
A@@betovilla2807
Duran was The GREATEST the second best thing WAS, I COULD MUTE THE COMMENTARY.
