Galaxy S10 is GOAT Samsung. Full screen design, three camera setup, expandable storage, headphone jack, fingerprint sensor under screen, edge display. Just doesn’t get any better.
i go back and fourth between my note 20 and note 10, the newer having 120hz display is a big advantage but i still miss my headphone jack. also the finger print sensor on the 20 seems more accurate but maybe thats just me
So far as I can tell he makes no mention of the s10...
It is outdated Especially the audio jack when you have a USB C port and the software
Keeping my LG G8 for all this + Quad DAC and Awesome Manual cameras with cine effects
@@Roukos_RksThis is such a bizarre take. No one has ever been disappointed about the presence of a headphone jack on a new device, but enough people are disappointed about the absence of one that we're still talking about it years after it started to disappear.
S8,S9 & S10 is peak Samsung design. The S8 is probably my fav phone ever, it made me switch from iphone to android - the front looked amazing.
Still use a S8+ as a work phone. Great phone. Other than speakers I don't feel that my newer Samsung's were vastly superior considering how many features have been dropped since.
I agree, they looked so much better than the iPhones of the time, S10+ is still a decent phone today.
Love my S8. It was really handy to use the iris scanner during the covid years when everyone was masked up.
I used a s9+ for 4+ years and that phone was built like a brick(I have butter fingers(like linus) and my mom actually threw the phone multiple times with anger and there were no cracks in the glass)
I've had the S10+ for almost 4 and a half years and I wanna buy the S24 Ultra but to be honest I don't have a good reason. The phone still works very well. I guess the cameras are getting old but I watched my vlogs on a laptop and they we good. I've fallen victim to marketing, honestly.
I WAS LIKE Obsessed with Glaxay S3 at that time I was a kid back thenn... THIS LITERALLY HEALS my inner child
Yessss sameee
i feel like everyone had it except me lol
same! I switched since HTC fell off and I loved the s3! Never one issue with it.
S3 made me nostalgic too.
What j models stand's for?
Going from a samsung s3 mini to the s7 was like a whole new world opening up, don’t think there’ll be a feeling like that again with phones haha
The reason you felt Samsung play safe on S20 - 22 was because around the time they tried foldable phone. They needed to play safe on their flagship as they were going crazy with new form factor.
And typical samsung that went well too and here i am using a s22 plus, which is just plus size, no 1440p screen for me!
It’s time for a humane update
Or hear me out they hit a good form factor that didn’t need to be changed. In the same way that Apple hasn’t been changing up the iPhone design from the iPhone X really
@@parthpatel9602biggest scam ever. I'll never willingly get a phone with 1080p. Especially on a plus sized phone. Glad my s21 ultra has a qhd
Yes. That's exactly right. This guy does acknowledge every feature of iPhones as if it is innovation that never existed 5 years prior to that on android. But here, he failed to give One UI any mention at all, and not even foldable phones.
01:33 I'm a Korean. Fun Fact, Externally, the 'S' may stand for "Super Smart," but originally, it wasn't so grand. The 'S' in Galaxy S stands for the first letter of "SK telecom." In South Korea, there are three major Carrier : KT, LG U+, and SK telecom. When the Galaxy was first released, it came out exclusively with SK telecom (SKT), hence the name Galaxy S. There are also models like Galaxy K (SHW-M130K) and Galaxy U (SHW-M130L). If Galaxy had been released exclusively with Verizon in the United States, it would likely have been named Galaxy V. haha.
Wow 😂
I didn't know that before. Tks for telling us this funny knowledge. Love from North Korea.
ohhhh that makes sense why Samsung is a sponsor for T1
Wow thanks for the info! My brother is also from South Korea but we didn’t know that about Samsung 😁
@@hanschen3861haha..wait what
Woah, the S8 back then was a game changer, and this is the phone that brought me back to Samsung. And then, OneUI came and changes almost all of the things. Still on my favorite among them is S10 Plus 5G with all of the goodies like microSD, headphone jack, four cameras.
the SUPER battery saving mode on s5 was the best!! went full b&w, basic features, but would last FOREVER. i could go to sleep with 5% battery and be confident my alarm would go off & i could text the next morning
The S8 and S9 gen having a physically moving touch screen home button was underrated!
I loved that feature, sad to see it got removed.
you mean that vibrating pressure sensitive area?
Yes no need for tap or lock key . Good days .
I remember this, totally forgot about that!! My friend had an S9 not too long ago, I'll have to ask him how he liked it
I used to quickly unlock my phone by pressing the pressure sensitive button while I took it out of my pocket and did a swipe without ever lifting my finger. The iris scanner did the rest😂 felt smooth
I'm from Singapore and our version of S2 was a physical rectangular home button with 2 capacitive button. Even the camera was rectangular in shaped.
Ye I think only the US version was different because in Europe it was the way you explain it
same for Germany
Yes I think other than the US, we all got the GT-I9100 "International" version with the textured removable back.
Similar story for the S1. The one we got in the UK had a physical home button, more rounded on the sides.
Yeah, this version with a button has much sleeker design
17:20 seeing him try to swipe up for all the apps then realise that didnt exist yet was hilarious
Wow, this made me nostalgic. My first phone was an S Duos, my second phone was a J5 and my third and current phone is an A20e. I still remember when all those news came out like the S6 edge. I'm only 20 years old, so this nostalgia feeling of something that still feels so new being old is new to me.
S10 will always be peak for me. It was the phone with the most, it had all the things the current phones have, like triple cameras, under screen fingerprint scanner etc. still had headphone jack, Micro sd card slot, the heart rate monitor and 1440p screen. Every model after this they slowly removed all these features... I really want a new phone with better cameras, but it's hard to let go of the s10 and lose all those features.
Yea it even had the variable aperture camera and stereo speakers too, it also had a great quality dac for the headphone jack
Note 9 was peak.
I agree with you, the last Samsung Galaxy S with both headphone jack and microSD card slot, plus still has a lot of the modern features like full front screen (almost). In fact it's my main phone to this day. My biggest gripe is the sides of the phone curving over the edge. Almost wish I got the S10e with the flat screen with no curves. I get a lot of missed inputs that can be frustrating at times because the screen simply won't respond because some of my fingers are 'bleeding' over the edges and touching the screen. The curved screen may have been popular for looking cool, but functionally it was annoying. Many people agree including Marques himself.
Note 20 ultra is peak
Using it currently. Still holds up incredibly well!
You forgot about the Universal Remote feature on the S5 & S6 phones. It was super clutch and I used to ALL THE TIME!!
I had it on my S4 mini as well. It was very useful.
And removable batteries
He forgets about a lot of shit now days
The IR blaster was so useful 😔
Going to bars or restaurants and changing the channel was always fun.
23:46 The galaxy S9 plus had a dual camera setup (main and f2.4 2x telephoto), so the S10 was not the first galaxy S with more than one camera! I think S10 had dual aperture as well? The heart rate sensor was present for many years too, S20 was where they removed it! Great video!!! I had S8 and S10 and loved them
I switched from iPhone to the s7 Edge when it came out, I was hooked on Samsung and on Android immediately. I loved that phone. I loved the s10+ I upgraded to even more and used that phone until it died, the s10 is still my favorite Samsung phone. I'm using an s23 Ultra now, another great device that can handle everything I throw at it (which is a lot) without any major issues.
28:51 Fun fact, the S9+ was actually the first samsung S phone with multiple rear cameras with a total of 2.
Yes
Sure but this video is about base models only. S9 - 1 camera, S10 - 3 cameras
Y'all right 😊, tho he meant the base models only, i had the same concern until i got what he meant
The variable apperture was present in later mobiles...isn't it ?
@@rahuldiddy yeah it was in s10 too
The S6 model I used to have had an IR transmitter in it, which made it possible to control your TV (the phone could act as any remote). This was such a nice party trick to turn on a random TV on the streets.
This feature was first introduced in the galaxy S4 as I remember showing it off to my friends when I was in school
Also had that card cloning ability without NFC I used to pay using my phone everywhere before NFC was even used
Some new phones like the redmi note 10 pro also have it
Xiaomis still hqve that
@@mogee6417even worked at Walmart where they still don't have tap to pay. I think S8 was the last to have that.
Ive kept my Galaxy s6 edge all of these years to check in on from time to time because that one has still most impressive feel in the hand. Stunning convergence of engineering and materials.
HAAA! I AM SO HAPPY YOU MENTIONED THE HTC ONE M8!!!!! 😂 I miss that phone!! It was phenomenal for its time! So under-appreciated! I took a self-timed photo on that phone and still use it as my profile picture on a lot of apps😅
Mistakes I noticed: - the S8 isn't the first galaxy S phone to have exynos, but it's the first in a while where the exynos is worse than the snapdragon - the S9 wasn't the last galaxy S phone to have dual aperture, the S10 series also had it - the S10e had the same charging speed as the S10 and S10+: 15W
Yeah my S7 edge had the Exynos varient. At the time it was better than the Snapdragon varient.
Also, the S9+ was the first Galaxy phone with more than one camera lens
@@prayashshrestha I think he meant that we haven't seen it in galaxy s phones.
Yep and 13:44 the heart rate scanner wasnt an s5 exclusive, it lasted all the way to to the s10 5g
@@prayashshrestha 4K, I believe
S9 plus was peak, notification LED, swipe down finger print reader, heart rate monitor, camera leap, headphone jack ❤ a gem
Peak for me was the note 2. That's only because I had it though
Agreed the S9 was reallt really good, i came from a s7 edge and pretty much everything with the s9 was better.
Dex
And a screen that easily go green
I use an app to put an RGB circle around my S23 camera cutout to emulate the notification LED from older phones. Not as bright and it is a 3rd party app, but it brought back an important feature
havent seen these kind of cool videos from mkbhd for sometime now.keep it up!
S3 was my first Samsung phone and I loved it. I eventually upgraded to the S10+ that I loved too. Now on the Z fold 5 that I love. Their evolution is crazy
I loved the IR blaster on my s5, I could control any TV anywhere whenever I wanted. It was glorious
Yea...i remember that. IR on s5 !
@@mohdismin8325 I wonder why he didn't mention it in this video
I just got a OnePlus 12. IR is back!
@@foxargen I'll have to check that out
I have a Xiaomi 13T Pro. Still enjoying IR blaster!
As an iPhone user since the 3GS, I feel the Galaxy s8 was the first time Samsung indisputably outshined apple, the insanely narrow bezels (for the time), home button removal and camera performance legitimately had me jealous. With the iPhone X’s release later the same year, 2017 really felt like the start of modern smartphones
Dude, they upgraded everything with the s9
Lol Samsung has outshined Apple most of the time, they use Samsung's parts for their phone LMFAO
lol samsung S series always outshine iphones, better display, better cameras, better features
Haha
@@eazypeazy4842 you are stuck in like 2009, bruh. The only Samsung part Apple uses is the display panel (but they also use LG panels). Apple has almost complete control end-to-end of the iPhone. It's literally why they've been fighting anti-competitive lawsuits for years now. Samsung uses Google software, Qualcomm chips, Sony lenses. Did you think they built their own parts? lol
I enjoyed this video alot... What a Rollercoaster of memories.... Good work man
Fantastic clarity. You are an amazing communicator Impressive!
Man seeing the S4 again reminds me of that special era of the HTC One and the Moto X 😍
and windows phone
ye
Both awesome phones for their time.
Man the Moto X! This comment brought me back. I remember how innovative it all was. Shaking the phone twice brought up the flashlight. So convenient. Amazing phone.
Dang those dead brands were so fire back then
I miss the days when Samsung phones had that unique design, they were truly one of a kind.
Now their latest one copied the iPhone 15 pro exactly
Ngl the curved screens were annoying if you had bigger hands as if you used it without a case, you were going to touch the edge.
They are
they should have stuck with the s21 design
Ok
My first smartphone was an S3 and I still have fond memories of it. Then I had an S5 a few years later, and now my current phone and the one I've been using the longest is an S9
I had the exact same progression. I've bought 3 s9s because it's cheaper to buy a new phone than repair the curved screen when I broke it. Finally moved onto an s10 this month
Needed this before upgrading. Thank u.
S10 plus user here. I love the size, form, horizontal camera setup, 3.5 jack, sd card, everything is exceptional. But now all the things are gone
Right?!! It sucks. It just seems so lackluster now a days sure the chips are great but for me the s9 - s20 line were the pocket knives of phones lol they had so much and great specs
I got s10+ in 2019 i believe and since day 1 till now i dont ever wanna change it, im sure one day ill have to but i wish they wiuld just keep making them because this is the perfect phone for me. The storage space the extra storage you can keep, dual sim 3 cameras the size the shape everything.
Man I loved my S10, esp when I was using the iris scanner to unlock the phone when I was wearing gloves at work. But I was swayed by the trade in offer (and dying battery) to an S21 U, which I also really liked, especially since it had S Pen functionality. They gave me a free upgrade in internal storage too, which I accepted and turns out that tbh I didn't need an SD card anymore since there was so much internal storage (for me anyways) that I could ditch the SD card and not have to worry about it possibly dying on me, and having to move apps back and forth. Now on an S23U cause I thought battery would die in the S21U in 2 years like it did for the S10, but it surprisingly didn't, so gonna wait for longer than my 2 year cyclic upgrade routine since the S4 (that, and the built in stylus was better than clipping the pen on the side). I still missed my iris scanner though, especially during covid with masks.
I think we can easily consider s8 to be the first step into moder era of smartphones. The first phone ever chellanging the bezels
One of the actual trends samsung put ahead and others followed
Ye I remember when it first launched. I was absolutely astonished by how it looked. It looked so "futuristic", in a sense. It was a completely novice thing to just remove the bezels, so seeing that happen was just so damn awsome
@@xatime2833Yeah same. All things aside, it was the first phone that really made me go "wow".
LG was first with G6
@@Rico-oz4ct not quite right because the S6 (launched 2015) started that trend. S7 Followed and then the S8 flexed its 80%. S7 had 76% while the G6 had 78% a year later. Samsung challenged the bezels first.
I'm glad it was a lot of fun because it seems to me like a ton of work to make the video! Thanks for making it!
Your podcast is my go-to podcast for ALL my Samsung Galaxy devices. Thanks! 😊
13:46 The heart rate sensor stayed around until it got dropped when the S20 came out, six generations later, which was almost half the life of the Galaxy until then. Seemed like it lasted a good amount of time. Samsung got rid of physical menu buttons before they got rid of the heart rate sensor.
S2, S7 Edge, S8 Plus, S9, S9 Plus, S20 Ultra, were my previous Phones from Samsung Galaxy S series. You know what! They were perfect.
i had all of them up to my current s9 + the Alpha and not one of them failed! only minor software bugs
They were so good, you had to upgrade all of them 😂
S2 was loveee back then
S1, S3, Note 3, Note 4, S7E, Note 9, S10E, S21U, S23U, with a few other brands in the mix. at one point I averaged a new phone every 8 months 😅 my favorite, aside from my current S23U, was the Note 4. removable battery, headphone jack, etc.
@@EricJCaraballoso the note 4 was super awsome, got amazed with its pixel density anyway the note 4 edge was so rare back then. Since it wasn’t available in my country.
It's incredible how you kept me stuck on the screen for 45 minutes watching a video on the history of Samsung smartphones. I never had a Samsung phone, and I have ADHD, so congrats, you're VERY entertaining
first time of me watching full youtube video. amazing one! thank you :)
Great video! But small correction, the Galaxy S10 does also have variable aperture. You can actually hear the physical movement of it every time you open the camera.
Yep my s10e has that
Another correction, there was no S7 Edge PLUS! only S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active. 3000mAh,3600mAh,4000mAh
@@StarMan_1367yeah i think he got confused with S6 Edge +
You'd think he will get these things right 😅 but anyway
Also the heart rate sensor did live for quite a while from the s5 to the s10
S4 and S8 were absolutely mindblowing phones for the time. I still remember seeing de S8 for the first time. Probably one of the best designed phones of all time
It was the perfect comeback after the disaster of the Note7
Really love my old s8+ ❤
S8+ was my favorite also
was thinking about Samsung with the S8 but went Huawei at that time with their P10 (then the whole getting banned from android happened and I switched to the S21 instead of another Huawei)
Thoroughly enjoyed this journey. I have never owned a Galaxy S, but used the S3 back in the day. This video really ecapsulates the past 15 years of smart phone flagships and the industry.
The three button layout was standard since the S1. It’s just the US carrier versions that went with the 4 capacitive buttons until the s3.
For me, S7 - S9 was probably the most iconic generation. The S10 was cool, but something about that S9 design just has me loving it way more.
S9 is no different from s8
how old are you?
@@Pleasing_view the s9 has some subtle differences, but it was clearly a refinement of the S8 design rather than a leap forward. But to me, that was already the peak smartphone design so why change it?
I miss the bixby button and having the volume button on the left
for real, i used s9+ before and i still love that phone before
38:01 S24 is back to Exynos again with the Exynos 2400 (in Europe). But the Snapdragon chip is still a bit faster.
this is also true for Latin America. however, s24 ultra does have the snapdragon variant. idk if that's also the case for Europe
@@HansArteagaRomero yes s24 ultra also has SD instead of exynosin europe
SD is quite a bit faster (~10%). Inferior speed would be ok, but Exynos has also worse thermals and battery life.
@@ikuturso7570 For me SD always was just bit better not because points in benchmarks, UI was slightly smoother on these, which made experience more pleasing.
@@towb0ati think the s24 ultras are Snapdragon-powered worldwide. but the normal & plus models are back to Snapdragon/Exynos separation routine.
I've had the S Blaze, S4, S5, S7, and currently S20. My immediate family all carried Galaxy S phones the past 13 years as well. Felt good going back on memory lane.
I went from the s4, to the s5, s7 edge, s8 plus, note 9, note 10 plus, s21 ultra, s22 ultra, and now currently using the s24 ultra. Love samsung phones.
S4 also had my favorite long forgotten feature, the ir blaster. I still miss having the ability to turn down or mute overly loud televisions in public places.
Oh man, I remember using my phone to turn off the projector in class, I thought it was the funniest thing at the time
Broo 😂 I still have my s4 till now, still using it to turn down volume
i remember my note 4 had that
Didn't know about it 😂😂😂
You missed some really important stuff regarding the S5 IMO. S5 was IP67 WITH a removable back cover (i went snorkeling with it, filming underwater). It also had the option to preserve this AND add wireless charging. Samsung provided replaceable back covers, one of which added a coil connecting to predefined pins on the back of the phone. Thus the S5 was the first wireless charging phone in the S series, not the S6. I had that exact setup, awesome times. The S4 could sense your fingers from 1 inch away off the screen, it had animations on the lockscreen and other preview features in the software which eventually landed on the Note with the S pen. It also had a high sensitivity toggle which allowed you to wear any gloves and still use the touchscreen. The S3 launched with the "S Beam" which, provided you would tap the back of two phones, would make a transfer of the selected files/links/apps, similar to what Apple introduced with the iOS17 update. My S7 Edge is a true hero, it is still being used as the main phone from 2016, marking its 8 years anniversary. Its only downfall (aside from the battery and the lack of software updates) is the AMOLED screen which burnt in eventually. Fingerprint sensor works like new, camera looks fine, great piece of technology.
Samsung fan spotted😂. Joining the club, bro🙌 Samsung has been killing it since the beginning.❤🔥
Yes i remember it did sense your finger without touching the screen, why no other phone ever did/do that?
The first wireless charging phone in the S series was not S5, but S3 - it also had 2 pins exposed and you had to buy a back cover with Qi coil. It wasn't the first mainstream phone to have Qi charging though - Nokia Lumias were ahead of Samsung with this, and IIRC the Qi was ready-to-use there with no fiddling or paying extra.
The S4 also had optional wireless charging with an optional rear conductive cover.
S5 was very underrated in my opinion. I remember how cool it was to have water resistance back in those days
S9,S10 series and note 9 and Note 10 series goated
I know these videos are specific to each brand, but I think a year by year comparison of GalaxyS and Iphone would be really cool. You touch on aspects here and there, but I think a deeper dive would be really interesting. Really cool video though!
28:49 the Samsung S9+ had a dual camera setup, which made it the first samsung smartphone having more than one camera

true, those 3 are the best looking Samsung phones ever
True back then each year a lot of advancements were being made and newer phones had newer designs. Now they're all the same. I'm still fine with my almost 4yr old s20 as it feels basically the same in day to day usage with the newer devices

The death of the removable🔋battery went with the LG V20, which i'm watching this video on. 5.7in 16:9 screen. Wish that was still around. It was also 7.7mm thin. That's thin for a removable back phone.
Thanks for the review! Has been using Samsung's phone since the S2. Interestingly, coz the S2 you've got is different from mine, didn't know it also came with different variants too. The home button on the s3 you reviewed was already added in the s2 that I've got. They look quite different😮

I could not agree more that the S9 was not only peak Samsung phone design but I also think it was the pinnacle of smartphone design in general. The slimness was literally unmatched, the curved edge was amazing to feeling the palm of your hands, The fingerprint reader on the back where your finger naturally rests was literally perfect. I still have my S9 in a drawer and every once in awhile I pick it up just to feel it in the palm of my hands and it just blows my mind that nothing has even come close to feeling as sleek and perfected as this design.
100% agree, best phone I ever had.. now on the s23, also nice but nothing like my old s9..
I'm also still in love with that phone! mine died a long ago but I still keep it in its original box, in my room. I've just got the s24, a great phone, but it doesn't feel as perfect as the s9.
Agreed, it was the pinnacle of smartphone design with just RIGHT bezel size. The color options was top notch as well. I felt lucky to ever owned this phone.

Note 9 was the perfect phone
My dad got an S9 in 2018 and has used it heavily since then. It's still amazing, the photos are still good, which he needs for his job (Architect), it's still fast, storage holds up (256 GB) and after having the battery changed, which was the only issue, still feels like new
S5 had an IR blaster. Loved it, allowed you to run any T.V., stereo, vcr or dvd player. Easy to program. Didn't need a stack of remotes next to me and though remotes always seemed to grow legs I always knew where my phone was. 😉
Just upgraded from my S10 to the S24 Ultra. Some of the best phones on the market. It's honestly amazing how good they are.
Wow. Was the battery of the S10 still holding up ok by the time you were ready to upgrade?
@@robertfan332Actually, yeah. It still lasted quite a long time. Definitely not as good as the new S24, but it was still enough for a normal day's use. With the S10, I would leave for work with 100%, come back home with 35% left. Plenty of battery in case there was an emergency, the work day was longer, or just to have as reserve. The S24 on the other hand, heavy use all day? You're only down to 85% after the work day is done. It's insane how good the battery is. I would have kept my S10 longer if it weren't for some snotty toddler hitting me with a shopping cart at the store. Somehow it cracked the corner of the screen. Really can't do much there, to be honest.
Did you feel they hv reduced saturation from s10 to s24? How is your experience with the display compared to the old one?
Wow, i upgraded from S10 -> S23 Ultra last year. My wife got S10 but her phone is in much better condition, will upgrade hers for S25 i guess.
@avigamer7285 I think it feels the same-ish color-wise. Definitely, the S24 display is superior, though. Higher refresh rate and resolution.
While you emphasized the S23 switch from Exynos to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ has the Exynos 2400 chipset so it is more like a one-off exception rather than a significant change.
I came to the comments to mention the same thing. The international S24 & S24+ has the Exynos 2400 chipset. While the US/Canada/China models have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

I've had my S10 since the week it dropped and have no desire to want to upgrade even 5 years later to this day. To be fair, thats always my feeling for all tech and I'm hoping to squeeze another 5 if that is possible. But man what a remarkable phone. The S2 I knew was different from the one showed in the video
@@marcospsoares yep same
@@marcospsoaresExactly! I was wondering what's going on in this video.
maybee european version. because i also only remember the three button ones here in germany
20:14 factual error - There was never an s7 edge plus. It was only the s7(3000 mAh) and the s7 edge(3600 mAh)
Wasn’t the S7 3,000 mah? It was smaller than the edge (5’1 and 5’5) so battery wasn’t the same capacity on both models
@@stevee1989 Yep, I still use my S7 and it is 3,000 mAh. Looks like the S7 Edge was 3600 mAh.
🤓☝️
Another factual error : “First usb type c” (yes it’s first on S8, but first samsung was Note7) “First more than one camera” - galaxy s9 plus had 2 cameras “Dual aperture gone next model” - s10 did retain the dual aperture
@@joenathanz7474 Usb C is not an error. S8 was the first S series to have usb C, the video is only about the S series. Note series are irrelevant here, even if the Note7 was indeed first samsung phone with usb C.
I still have my S2 Korean grey-market-into-China phone in my drawer because I loved it so much. Great memories. It was an amazing leap forward. Mine had an antenna too for analog TV 😅
I had the S1 Vibrant from back in 2010, too. I am on the S23+ now. Yep, I love this series. I went to the S1, S3, S7, S8+, S21, and now S23+.
"Iconic to static." I love this phrase.
S7-S10 was peak Samsung
Remember when the 7s were exploding lmao
S4 will be forever da goat
The Note 7 exploded, but the S7 was fine @@skyoimiya
When these phones were introduced, they were some of the most powerful you could get. Nowadays the s24 barely competes with cheaper phones like the oneplus 12.
@@skyoimiya They weren't? tf are you talking about?
Great video. You gave a voice to these phones.
Thanks for your time ! I appreciate it ! 😊
I remember the hype when S6 edge came out. It looked so different from the other phones at the time, so sleek and futuristic. A friend had the S7 one and while I admit the grip was bad and I was afraid of it slipping, it just looked so pretty and premium. Who of you also got into *AMWKToken* after this
The s4 and s6 were actually pretty awesome
The S6 was my first smartphone. Wanted the edge, but wife said no😂
Is the scam still available ?
I remember my mom getting the s6 edge and it was awesome!
The s6 was the year Samsung stepped up to be the android iPhone alternative imo. Big step up in design and build, both in hardware and software
-S3 has a 2100mAh battery -S9+ had dual camera -Dual aperature camera was also present in S10 series -S10 Main camera has 12 MP, the 16 MP lens was the UW one
True. Note 10 series also had the dual aperture
Thank youu, i was searching for this comment, i noticed the slight mistakes and thought i was losing my mind
as a previous S10e owner, can confirm. Mine had 1.4-2.4 aperature

Banger video, recently switched to samsung and I'm really glad I did
I remember when the first Galaxy S phones came out and every carrier had their own variant. I was jealous of the one with the keyboard at Sprint(?) I think.
14:25 That "special" USB 3 connector was not only a Samsung thing. It's a USB 3.0 Micro-B plug. My 8 port USB 3 hub for my PC has it too, and that unit I bought a few years ago.
I have an external hard drive with it as well. Its a terrible port, cable constantly falls out.
Yep, I have some external HDDs that have those connectors.
Almost all external HDD without usb-c has that port
Yeah, it's an absurdly popular port. I honestly visibly cringed when he said it was a "weird" uncommon connector.
@@nitrobearAnd you would think he used more external drives than the average viewer since he's a video producer. He can't possibly not know that plug exists.
Still using my S9 daily. Absolute gem of a phone
Battery 🔋 changed?
@@baburo101 in device care says its " fair ", it drops off at 10%-15% for me. but not complaining. using mine with official/unofficial s20 firmware on it. android 13 one ui 5. i only lost the iris scanner functionality since s20 dosnt have it. its faster then the offical firmware. and have alot of new options that i didnt had.

Enjoyed the video. I had the s1 to s3 phones then got the s8 plus. Now, i just have the a54 because of battery life and portability.
watching this vid at my S10+ ❤❤❤❤❤ i can say, for the camera this one is the only one design than others just show the back and everyone can recognized it love this phone, no regret at all
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the S6 (the flat screened version). I had it for three years before getting it snatched. Loved. Every. Bit! It was sleek, capable with the crispiest display. Apart from low storage space, it was a unit. Again, it looked like a piece of jewelry 😅
It looked beautiful. Battery was horrible when when it was new though
Man, S6 was my first ever smartphone. I still have it and it still works (somewhat). The only thing i hated was its battery life. But the display was unmatched! Even after 2 years from its release with countless new flagships coming up, the display was the one thing that never felt outdated.
@@barracklawyer5483 From what I remember S6 was released in the year of snapdragon 810, probably the only time when exynos was the best processor especially efficiency wise. So maybe it had bad battery life but still was the best of all flagships that year.
22:00 Watching an S8 review on my Still working S8 feels trippy💀💀💀
7 years...
I remember owning the s8 and DAMNN THE SCREEEN LOOKS GOOD AMOLED IS GREAT FOR THE TIME,SOOOO VIBRANT
I switched from an iPhone 5S to a Galaxy S5, and that thing was so cool to me. USB 3.0, water resistance, removeable battery, 1080p AMOLED... That was before 4K TV's and maybe before OLED TV's, or at least before either were attainable. I remember watching a video on my phone and looking at my laptop and TV and thinking "it's kind of annoying that my phone is technically the highest quality display panel of any device I own". One thing you didn't mention about the S6 is that it also lost water resistance. I worked at an Apple-Authorized Service Provider at the time, that also worked on PC and Android Phones, and we had a *lot* of S6's come in for liquid damage, at least a few unfortunate customers who did not realize that Samsung had walked that back. The S7 was water resistant again, so it felt bad knowing that the customer picked precisely the wrong year to upgrade to avoid that problem.
I had the S2,S4,S5,S6,S8 Note 9. And they were all real nice. But the S2 and S8 were special. The adamantium S8 was so awesome.
Proud S10 user here. I almost bought the 21, almost U22, U23, and a month ago U24. Everytime I'm about to do it I remind my self how I use this device daily (smaller hands) and I can't part ways with my S10, after 4 years it's just been sooo good as entire package. No more updates means I may have to switch due to security purposes but hoddang do I like this phones design\size\features\quality. S10 and iPhone5se are by far the best 2 phones I ever owned and every year I get the hype bite and postpone long enough to be logical. But all good things come to an end at some point ...when and what to get next....
I used the s10 since lauchr up to like half an year ago ehen i got s23, such an amazing phone, the only problem i had was the battery, had to change it a couple of times and it was still pretty short. Other than that best phone experience i ever had.
Only reason i had to leave my note behind was it was broken beyond repair
you will miss the headphone jack I'm very sure of that. not Samsung, but I switched from a Pixel 4a 5g to a Pixel 5 and the fact that there's now a somewhat flimsy dongle attached to my earbuds is ever so slightly annoying.
I had an S10E for 4 years and upgraded, 2 weeks ago, to the S23. The S10E was probably the best phone overall when compared to its competition at the time.
I still use the S10E (Snapdragon version), I honestly fell in love with it 5 years ago and that is still true. Absolutely perfect size. I’m planning on using it until it breaks, no new phone looks enticing to me compared to it.
I started with the S2 and have been a Samsung user ever since. I had the Note 3, Note 8, and currently S23U. Every single phone is still functioning.
I used to have an s4, and I still remember that it had facial recognition. truly a great piece of engineering for the time it was in.
Coming from an iPhone user. That Retina display on the S4 was a cultural shift! I was addicted to the water graphic Lock Screen and the way the phone flowed and operated period. PEAK design aspect 🔥🔥🔥
The S4 didn't have a Retina display
Aero design
Not talking about the iris scanner on the s8 and s9 is crazy
I love my Galaxy s10e. Smaller size, fits perfectly my hand, has enough horsepower to never lag in daily use and has a nice screen. Maybe the only large issue is the small battery size, as the phone has trouble lasting for an entire day without charging. It also haaates the cold weather here.
Crazy to see all of these and remember having all of them.
The s24 has now gone back to the 2 versions with the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variants.
I'm glad someone also noticed. He mentioned the S23 was a single all-snapdragon version worldwide, but he failed to mention how they went backwards with the S24. The world is not just America... sighs...
Not to mention the horrible screens on the Ultra.
@@rvnx horrible?? Are you blind or did you get duped and got a fake?

Can we all agree the S10 series was the best of them all?
No
Yep
Most definitely not. The S10 sucked compared to the S9+ which was peak Samsung. The closest thing was the S22 Ultra. Although the Samsung Galaxy S4 will always hold a special place in my heart since that was my first change over to Android from iPhone
Do we have to?
still using mine and it runs like a charm
S8+ was my phone for 3 yrs, a cracking phone with next level everything, and the best looks to this day of any phone. Bring back small bezels with space for cameras and proper speakers. Agree on the HTC ONE and S8/S9 best lookers.
i still use my s6 edge for controlling things around the house! its awesome sized and i use a different launcher. it has expandable storage and a bixby button. and the fingerprint reader in on the back next to camera
The S10E's power button with the notification swipe was so unbelievably convenient.
S10e here, I can afford a newer phone, but this phone still feels great, has expandable storage, a headphone jack, and the screen to body ratio is perfect for my hands. I wish a manufacturer was making something like this nowadays, some come close but I'd always have to sacrifice a feature I use dtd so I can't commit to a swap yet.
Fellow S10e dude, hey! I wish they made small phones like this. I really miss the time when they made smartphones that weren't pocked TVs. I hate the huge phones of today.
lets go we still exist 🎉
I adore this phone! I'm retiring it for the s23. Somewhat feels like a downgrade - I'll miss the headphone jack
Hii fellow S10e user!! I too have small hands and am not looking to change my phone anytime soon. Although I'm not using the headphone jack anymore, the phone is still so valuable for everything I need day to day. Might change my mind if a new """small""" size samsung is coming up 🤔
i miss my s10.
Galaxy S3 is still probably my favorite phone I've used to date. It was also the first phone I had that could use two apps at once so I could split the bottom and top and listen to stuff on KZhead and read online
