Maybe if Namaari wasn't Raya's abuser :( when I saw them together as children it was so sweet until Namaari like destroyed Raya's life and family rip EDIT: guys I'm not trying to condemn Namaari or smth. I agree that Namaari's mother is the one that should be held accountable. However, I was thinking from Raya's pov. She was also just a kid and to her, something bad happened because of Namaari. It doesn't matter if she is told about what Namaari went through and why she did what she did, the past trauma is not going to change.

Agreed, Namarri effectively killed Raya's father and way of life. She is most definitely Raya's abuser due to the trauma she caused. People would never force someone to stay in a relationship where their partner is abusing them but when it comes to a gay ship everyone hops on regardless of whether or not it would be healthy :/ All this does is let companies not need to put effort into lgbtq+ relationships and obviously now people are shipping two people that would have a very abusive relationship. Even if Namarri has matured her mere presence reminds Raya of past trauma.
I feel like they should’ve made raya and the last dragon a series instead of a movie to develop the characters more
I agree that a relationship between them probably wouldn’t be healthy, but there is definitely chemistry there. More so than a lot of other Disney ‘couples’ even.

ME TOO ME TOO ME TOO
Other than the teasing, their relationship has these shades of vulnerability and intensity that friendships don't have. Plus, I'm sure Namaari's undercut and masculine vibe was just innocent... 😏
these two give me catradora vibe
If those two were actually a couple that would be such a toxic relationship. Namaari betrayed Raya and gave her all sorts of PTSD and trust issues, she never apologized for anything by the end of the movie. All it showed at the end was that Raya should trust people regardless of how much they hurt her, which is wrong. Raya is right for not trusting Namaari. I'm sorry but they don't work.
I couldn't have put it better myself. It just wouldn't be a healthy relationship nothing to do with whether it's gay or not as the top comment insists.
