Let me get this straight; they have to hold their breath, smile, count in their heads because they literally can’t hear the music, be aware of where everyone is AND control their breathing? THIS IS PHENOMENAL!
All of this except the music part, there is an underwater speaker they can hear. Keeping time to the music is crucial to the routine.
@@chrisd530 thank you. I was wondering about that. The whole thing seems hard enough without being able to hear the music.
And somehow keep afloat underwater at just the right height 🤯
My mind is blown!!
And ofcourse.... swim. Swimming alone is already hard, and dancing as well. What more if you danced and pranced around the water while trying to stay on beat😂
There’s something so... unnerving and alien about synchronized swimming.
It does seem a little unnatural (but I won't deny that it takes talent).
probably because I can't even do regular swimming
I thought im the only one who thinks about this... they r aliens OR maybe mutants😂😂😂 these people are so talented
It's because humans aren't supposed to move that _well_ in water.
@silent night Just swim? That's like saying to a professional dancer "just walk" lmao
I'm just impressed that they did all this coolness without having to touch the bottom of the pool
My thoughts EXACTLYYYY
BERY strong swimmers, that’s how
Uhh yeah. That's the whole point lol
More like spookiness
And with the smile😁 I would get lost how to do what exactly, and they did everything perfect with all this smiling all the time.
3:38 was insane, she still managed to make her legs looks like a mermaid tail. 💙
Synchronized swimmers are amazing athletes. I’m so fascinated by their ability to hold their breath underwater upside down and still able to perform their routines.
I was thinking something similar about their ability to hold their breathe AND perform at the same time while upside down 🤯
@@jayem7208 also the fact that all their moves are in time with the music even though they can't hear it most of the time
Lots and lots of practice and training
@@angelikaklaer6198 they use speakers that can be used underwater! I swam for 6 years, and being able to hear the music is very important!
Plus they use tiny nose plugs
I’m not gonna lie: I really don’t know how I ended up on this side of youtube at 3 am but I’m not complaining
same here...totally the same time period...03.07 am
Same 3:08
same 03:19 am
18:28 Berlin time
lmaooo sameee it’s literally 3 am and i’m watching this
I'm an actual swimmer, and I have mad respect for synchronized swimmers/dancers. We can easily hold our breath longer than most of the synchronized swimmers (that we see at our pools, probably not these ladies) and probably can swim faster/longer, but we would never be able to do anything like this. It's a lot harder than you think to lift someone up out of the water while swimming. Also, they are really flexible. We were comparing our swim group with a synchronized swimming group one time, and though we could barely touch our toes, they easily have the flexibility of gymnast. Plus, they have to do everything in sync. I can't even imagine how bad we would be at that. So much hard work and dedication goes to this sport, and I respect anyone that goes in it.
Bro, we can’t even do a single lap with a couple of people in the lane without bumping our heads/hitting each other. LOL
I felt this on a nother level because im also a swimmer lol
Synchronised swimming tournaments not only consist on the choreography, you need to have certain gymnastics, resistance and swimming skills. They test you on sooo many things, including how fast you can swimm
this is so backhanded
❤️🤩👍
Welcome to another episode of "Where quarantine has lead me today"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 innih
Yes ❤️
As a simple quarantine KZhead wanderer who knows nothing about the Olympics: this was cool Edit: this in no way deserves to be top comment
Hahaha same.
Same with a touch of I wish I could try that then realize I'm out of shape and cant hold my breath long enough.
@@snowangel92100 I was thinking the exact same thing.
Right
@Rei Ly is snycro dance swimming and is really hard to do that even me i cant 🤣🤣
SeaWorld should use performers like this instead of dolphins and orcas
Yassss
I think they are gonna charge high for that
Thats a great idea actually!
Then they’d have to pay the performers XD
Sea animals = free labor
That was INCREDIBLE!!! I can’t imagine the amount of strength and coordination it takes to achieve that routine. I’d be out of breath.
And sinking to the bottom upside down LOL
The amount of stamina this takes is astounding. The camera shots were amazing. Fantastic performance 👏
Meanwhile I slipped in the bathtub once and almost drowned
😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol!!!!!
Lmaoooooo
Lol
And here is me, that chokes while drinking water from a bottle.
your not the only one (i'm not saying that i choke, there just needs to be someone 👁️👄👁️🖐️)
I sometimes choke on my own spit 😅
Saturn yup me too
Haha I died... Toooo true really 😂💀
Or me that chokes on my own saliva every 10 mins
I didn't know fish could compete in the Olympics. This is insane and I love it.
Play
Imagine how confused the life guard must be.
Hilarious
The lifeguard at our training sessions is so used to us lot being underwater for crazy amounts of time he didn't even notice when someone passed out.
I don't care. For me this is the hardest sport! Aside from being athletic and artistic, you're deprived of a basic human need: oxygen!!!
Eh its controversial
Agreed.i don't understand how humans can achieve this 🤔
Water is basically oxygen with two hydrogen atoms. I mean...
@@loisleoniel1630 are you actually serious..?
@@loisleoniel1630 Tell that to the people who drowned.
Oh those dolphins
🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
they replied 😂😂.
Literally me 😂
Wow. You're an Olympic commentor
@@Olympics never expected a reply from you guys
If these girls executed this routine so exquisitely I can't imagine just how extraordinary their choreographer is. Kudos to everyone behind the scenes. They are often overlooked but I'm pretty sure it took a village to put this magnificent production together js
Spain has won several medals in this sport in the recent years!
I feel like I’m not qualified to appreciate this sport for what it is.
Next time you go to a pool, start treading and see how high out of the water you can get your torso. Then you start getting a picture of how hard it is.
Same
Just know that it is 1000000 times harder than it looks
Rightttt? Lol
Intense enough to call it a sport, beautiful enough to call it a performance.
Woww... So accurate! Your comment deserves more likes.
Your comment is a writing performance
oxygen: Am I a JoKe To YoU......
I love how their reflective swimsuit almost makes them look like they're partially transparent
Even they didn't win the competition, they got all of my attention for the show. Music, costume, coreography and their expression are so united. Love the crab and the dolphin sections. So autentic!
Wait another team was better than that ??
@@catmugparable9446 i guess :/
@@catmugparable9446 They came 3rd place. When I saw the description, I was like, "what?? They only got a bronze medal??" 😅😂
@@catmugparable9446 I think Russia won.
They didn’t win?! How?!
I have to tell, KZhead's recommendations get weirder and weirder every day. But this one is something out of this world. Cant complain.
Synchronized swimming is horribly underrated. It is basically ALL the other sports put together, while smiling.❤️
One of the most incredible and glamorous specticles im ever likley to see.
Finally, a version without commentary! Even if Spain doesn't have as many high speed, high difficulty, high precision moves, their artistry more than makes up for it. Definitely one of my favourites of 2012.
Awesome!!!
Spain is the best in artistic whithout dude. In thecnic is better Russia. Russia and Spain are the best, the rest is so far than them.
As an ex synchronized swimmer i can confirm that this is one of the hardest sports
I believe you.I use to be professional swimmer.
How old are most people when they start?
@@adjjal most people are around 8 or 9 when they start bc there's a lot of teqniques but some people start later
@@Rainswife_ thank you for ur reply , I guess a career as a synchronized swimmer is out for me LOL, but it's still a beautiful thing to watch , I have so much admiration and respect for athletes
@@adjjal it's never too late to start:)
They remind me of that group of tuna fish from Finding Nemo
Omg! Yess! “We’re a fish with a swooord”
I’ve been watching a lot of artistic swimming this week… this hands down was absolutely stunning !! It 2021 … just stunning!!
This is just hard work and passion. Most of them were new so they had to train 10-12 hours a day.
Well said, they work incredibly hard to be THIS good!
HOLY cow! That is INSANE! 10-12 hours a day of training - swimming - like that? Even a work day is only 7 hours on average. Imagine if one of these swimmers broke her leg and couldn’t swim anymore. What would you do with your life after that? After literally living every day just swimming.
I feel tired only by watching. Can't imagine how hard it must be for them That was amazing
I completely relate🤦🤷
Me too... taking a nap
You can see the dedication they put into this! Absolutely phenomenal!! I'm not a synchronized swimmer but even to me that look closed to perfection!
Perfect!
Idk what it is. I always find myself coming back to this video. The grace of these skaters is amazing, completely obsessed.
These woman: dancing upside down in the water Me: gets a foot cramp watching this
Same to me plus, I lost my breath!!
Ooh the foot cramps are no joke!
Time for some potassium!
Actually one does get a lot of foot cramps doing synchronised swimming, at least from my experience 😅
Imagine seeing that at the public pool 😂😂
Id feel useless 😢
mar dmf I would feel uncomfortable 😂
I do. Well, at the gym pool. And dang it's intimidating. Nothing is more threatening than a team of synchronized swimmers progressovely inching towards you with stiff, toothy smiles, shifting left and right and spinning around in perfect sync.
@@frenchbreadstupidity7054 😂😂😂
I would get out of the pool and just watch
The astonishing thing is how physically strong these girls are...plus having to control your breathing, athletic dexterity and endurance ...an astounding effort and feat.
I have never watched this sport before. For some reason it was on my recommended. This is amazing.
Imagine accidentally breathing in at the wrong second
*Water has entered the building* Current objective:Survive
@@Hi-qx5fs lol
No. No I don’t want to imagine that
It happens you get used to it
It's so synchronised even the ripples in the water are satisfying.
And so am I!
That was AMAZING. I can't believe how perfect that was.
The only way to receive true happiness is to be born again. Jesus loves you and is coming back to earth soon. This year is giving signs of end times. You need to repent. Please believe and spread the word to your friends, family etc so they can be saved. I'm doing this because I care about where your gonna end up on judgement day Jesus loves you
They all kept smiling the whole time. Beautiful.
How majestic this performance is, look how they can still smile and so professional, and sychronize💞
Majestic, not magistic.
@@PlugInKali Thank you!❣️
The pain and muscle ache only makes you smile harder
This was terrific! I don’t know why they didn’t get a medal. I watched Russia’s team and it was pretty boring. I think the Spanish Team has always been strong in this field
They got the bronze medal here 😉
The choreography, the synchronicity, the pace, the surprise factor theirs is the best of time performance of artist swim dance 😮
This sport deserves way more recognition
Artistic swimming is so cool
Right?

@@Athletes_hub0 you mean, the chest
That was freaking awesome ! Lots of respect from JAPAN ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
All I could think of while watching is "humans are so silly." Don't get me wrong, this obviously takes years of practice and skill. But the concept of competing for the best water dance is such a random thing for humans to decide to do.
I was literally thinking the same thing! Humans are so strange
Those darn artists... lol 😅❤
It's an art.
So is lining up to see who can run the fastest. But that's is what makes us human though, the possibility to do more than just cover your basic survival needs, anything you can imagine, do, make, achieve.
I was thinking the same. If aliens were watching this, oh how cute look at the humans splashing around.
Someone said they train 10-12 hrs a day, that’s insane! So much talent and hard work, I thought swimming laps was hard 😩
Its really hard. Their trainer was sued for abuse bc how hard she was at them.
And imagine the calories they need then
I was on a synchronized swimming team for only 2 years in middle school. It was the best thing I ever accomplished physically. My whole body was so strong and healthy.
España es arte puro por todas partes ❤️
Metallic mirror scales showy! Absolutely love it!!🎆
Just think how much physical effort it takes for all of these women to have their torsos upside-down underwater, while having their legs the same level over the water. Then they have to be able to lift each other and toss them out of the water. They all must be strong as F. Like bruh, imagine being a 250 lb weight lifter... Any one of these women could give you a beat down, and you wouldn't even understand how it physically happened. And they'd get away with it, because the police wouldn't believe you. 😆
AND meanwhile accounting for their different heights between the tallest and shortest woman so they’re all still the same level
Im exhausted just watching..smh
I mean.....you can see it in their arms
I can’t even understand how they do what they do. Like I can’t wrap my head around the physics of it. Obviously it’s possible. Imagine how much calories those women go through on a daily basis.
They're not women
WOW, If I saw that in the middle of the ocean, I would think that those were some mystical creatureas like mermaids. Stunning!
After 10 years I'm watching. OMG IT'S INCREDIBLE 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥
The stamina of these ladies is unreal. That was beautiful to watch x
My lungs could never I don't have any breathing problems but I'm 1000000000% I could never hold my breath for that long
Lots of athlete have faint in this category i feel you
It's training like anything else
Yeah training. When warming up, we usually swam at the bottom of the pool on 25~50meters several times
They're so good I didn't even know which body parts they were using half the time🤣🙈
It's Beautiful, takes hard work, dedication, and passion to reach that level.
Oh my god this is incredible.
Not only the holding your breath part, but the underwater shots of them staying perfectly straight while UPSIDE-DOWN???? *THAT* is really the part that blows my mind more than anything!!! 🤯😲👏
I've been doing swimming synch for ten years. I do not regret this choice, I cannot even think about actually stopping one day. I just love this 🥰
Beautiful performance and costumes! Love it! One of the best I've seen! ❤😊
Yes!
I did not even know this event existed. And probably best of all, no friggin’ sports commentary over it.
I suffocated 10 times just watching it. Never interested in this kind of sport before, but it is truly amazing
Out of this world. They actually look like synchronised wild dolphins minding their business. Incredible.
I have never seen anything like this before. Synchronized swimming came a long way! Absolutely beautiful to watch! I couldn't believe they were in deep water and throwing eachother up in the air....very impressive!!❤
I'm just impressed. Amazing. They are synchronised and they need to smile
No clue why KZhead recommend me this but I’m glad they did this is something I never knew I needed to see.
Meanwhile me as a 7 year old: look at me do a handstand underwater!
Everyone starts somewhere!
Well i can barely swim at 18 so 😭
That’s still me as a 30 year old 😂
Me at 27: Look at my handstand😅
I learned to swim when I was 33 from KZhead videos.
And KZhead randomly recommends after 2 years. Fascinating to see this.
SPAIN IS THE BOSS. IN ALL FORMS OF ART SPAIN DOESN'T HAVE ANY RIVAL. IS PURE ART ♥️
Hold my beer! Russia!
I always get so emotional when watching that kinda stuff because you can feel all the dedication and passion that went into this. If perfection exists, that must be it.
The choreography is so unique i love this
This is one of most attractive events in Olympics great performance
Brilliant! The performance The music And the choreography. I'm amazed! Thank you.

It's Mind-blowing! Outstanding! Unbelievable!

I can't imagine how much time and effort has been put by these athletes. The level of synchronization says it all.
One of most impressive coordinations I've seen. What strength of those females.
To hold your breath for that long while working out🤯 I can’t even breathe while working out and I’m not holding my breath
My god these women deserve some stage lighting and music video camera work, THAT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE
