decluttering & organizing my entire apartment
AYYOOO who's ready for my very first NON-ART-RELATED video? If you're anything like me, you probably have way too much stuff (trash and otherwise) in your house. My clutter situation got to the point where I finally HAD to get rid of stuff so that I could make room for my new art business.
]It took me 5 months(!!!) to film this and finish the decluttering, because I kept taking lonnngg breaks away from home. I hope u like watching!!

I currently have 15,355 art pals!! thats genuinely wild!!!
I like how this declutter is quite normal??? No excessive amounts of clothes/shoes/etc. Just a normal apartment, with good decluttering. I love it!
This is so realistic. U didn’t need to buy bunch of new organizers just to declutter, clean up, and organize your things. You made use of what’s available and what you already have. You also showed that you need to invest time and effort to do this and it’s okay to take it one day at a time. This video motivated me to clean and declutter my room and our living room, thank you so much this video!
YES!!! I love that this video wasn't sponsored by The Container Store or other organizing products company.
Yes! I just watched another channel going from horder to «minimalist» and after throwing A lot away she bought A ton of fancy boxes and jars to display and put the things she had left in.
As a plant person, I am immensely proud of you. Getting rid of plants that do not spark joy is the path to freedom. Also, YAY for unrealistic goals that take longer to complete than we think they will because they get us MOVING and that is the point. Good work, Gabi.
So true hah - I had a geranium that I was not into and she was so high maintenance! Felt a lot lighter after parting ways
Yeah but how do you get rid of them, where?
Ok, but why do u have to trow them into the trash?
I keep my dead plants thinking they’ll come back …
@@WinterEdition I get rid of mine by selling or giving away on local plant facebook groups
You are not a trash hoarder. You are a responsible person who doesn't want to be wasteful. This will help you in the future to accumulate less unnecessary stuff. Also, if you keep up regular decluttering over time, giving away stuff others can still use is much easier because it's just a couple of things here and there. You did great with this big reset!
Girl you KILLED IT. Too many times you see people advertise a giant declutter then they get rid of barely anything. No false advertisement here! Great job ❤
The fact you did this bit by bit over a longer period of time is actually SO motivating. Smashing it out in a weekend/week is just not doable for so many of us, but this is actually achievable. Thank you!
Decluttering has helped me take stock of what is important to me over time. First time I did a large declutter, it was mostly stuff I had accumulated over the years that had lost their connection to me in the present. It was like finding myself in all this stuff I had. So now what I do have reflects me and makes me happier, even if it still seems like a lot at times. I also have a better understanding of what I enjoy so when I purchase new things they stick around longer and I don't need as much.
OHHH YESS I relate to all of this so much. I wanna get to that point where truly everything I own feels relevant but I think it’ll be an ongoing process to get there!
I appreciate the moments you can have remembering who you used to be. And then you can move on by getting rid of the stuff you don't need anymore!
it is so unfortunate that i watched this at midnight because now i want to clean my whole apartment
I TOTALLY relate to keeping things around because you hate throwing stuff away!! It is one of the biggest hurdles for me when decluttering, and it’s so overwhelming. Glad I’m not alone in that! Also this popped up in my recommended videos and I’m so glad it did-instant subscribe because I dig your vibe! ✨
I actually love that you put the dates for each day that you worked on this because it’s so hard!! Lots of people just do it in a solid week but after like a couple hours I’m just wiped! Much love for just taking it at a good pace and knowing that you do better when you come back fresh because same!
Please film more declutter videos in the future if you do them! This was great. Stuff is constantly coming into our lives and I have found it helpful to loosely follow a every month get rid of 30 things for 30 days” rule. Helps me reflect on what I allow in my space that takes up physical/mental energy!
She can't she cleans once in a year!!!
I haven't met a single other person in my friend group that "hoardes" items for sustainability reasons other than me!! that was super validating that you shared that with us. I thank you cause seeing you let go has given me inspiration to do the same. For example, I keep every single gift bag and wrapping paper I ever receive.... like for what!?
Thank you for bringing real life into my KZhead feed again, you're amazing.
Omg thank u! I’m glad u liked the vid :)))
i just love how realistic this video is. decluttering is exhausting, tiring, messy and.... sometimes you dont feel satisfied after doing it. and of course, its not a process thats made in three days.... btw, rest in peace roald
Hahahah😂 I also laughed when she said Raold😂 like, idk why, but it's just the perfect name for a long lost toy.😂
honestly this was so motivating to watch because it's so real. i relate to a lot of the things you hang onto for longer than necessary like boxes, empty plant pots, etc and feel a lot of guilt and sadness abt the idea of getting rid of things but this video makes me feel a lot less intimidated by those feelings. thank you for showing me that this is achievable for me too
Edit: for anyone wondering my couch is from Floyd! She’s my daughter and I love her. Wooohooo!! Hope u enjoy watching my quest to SIMPLIFY MY STUFF. Can anyone relate to my trash hoarding tendencies? Plz say yes 😅
Ugh yes, I also keep random packaging like the stuff you had in the top of your closet! Sometimes it's really high quality, well-designed packaging and feels so sad to throw away?? But I have also not found a use for any of it in the years I've been hoarding it, so... (The one exception was a cookie tin that I now use to store sewing supplies!)
Same here, I have soo many boxes lol
Yes I can relate to the box hoarding. Guilty! I am actually in the middle of cleaning my apt and getting rid of stuff. Your video has given me a boost to keep on going. Lol not a wise choice doing it while I am on PTO but it has to be done. 😊 😊😊
I 100% do lol, I will say that going to the container store and getting a label maker helps so much and makes everything so pretty, I feel like it makes me try harder to stay organized
I definitely get the box/packaging hoarding! One thing I'll say - I regret getting rid of certain types of gift bags, shipping paper and good tissue paper, but I never regret getting rid of old boxes and styrofoam. When it comes to giftwrap, anything that's sparkly or shiny isn't recyclable. If I can reuse packaging paper as giftwrap, it's recyclable for the giftee and relieves some of that guilt in a purposeful way :). In regard to recycling - I was a recycling educator for two years and have been in the sustainability industry for 12. If any viewers aren't sure what they can recycle, please remember NOT to recycle according to what the packaging says (kudos to tofu goob for educating herself and knowing little strips of paper aren't recyclable!). Recycling is LOCAL and varies. Check out your recycle hauler's website, municipality site, and local advocacy group info. Tons of good info, just not from product manufacturers :( If you're feeling a lot of guilt about your waste stream, try to shop your home first, then hit the thrift stores before buying new (both options are 100% guilt free)
I really appreciated that you didn’t buy anything to declutter!! Makes it feel real and is great to see
im the biggest fan of decluttering videos(im basically monica geller irl) and i have quite easily seen every video out there on decluttering. but girl this is VERY easily the most satisfying and genuine decluttering video ive ever laid my eyes on. instant follow.
Learning about fabric recycling has really helped me in my own de-cluttering journey! There are places (sometimes bins or clothing stores depending on where you are geographically) were you can take you unusable fabrics like destroyed shoes or holey socks and they'll be recycled! Not a perfect solution, but one step above the landfill!
I know you posted this video 3 months ago, but it really did help me. I was searching youtube for motivation and searched best way to declutter an apartment and yours was one that showed in the results. I love seeing the reality of it taking you 7 days and that you had to take breaks. I get very distracted and discouraged thorough out the process. And I as well get overwhelmed with what I want to keep and how I will dispose of or get rid of the items I'm not using. Thank you for being real and sharing your decluttering process!
Watching this as motivation to declutter my room. I am a massive sentimental hoarder and a “what if I need it” hoarder but I loved when you said that you could always repurchase something if you ever needed it/wanted it in the future but right now you don’t. That mindset instantly made me think of how much I could get rid of because I never use it and I’m just keeping it in case i ever do.
I approach my clutter with like this same mindset omg! like I keep SO much with good intention but then it all just snowballs and I have to force myself to be realistic, while still challenging myself to get rid of things as sustainably as my situation allows. I appreciate your transparency so much.
I tried starting my decluttering journey March 2023 when I had a full week off of work. I agree, I regret taking that time to do that rather than just not be stressed out. I also only went through my clothes and books in that week. I got rid of 90 books and 4-5 bags of clothes but then I also struggled with how to get rid of them and it wasn't until July I finally had a garage sale, took them to a used clothes donation place and sold my books at the used bookstore. Now it's getting to be the end of the year and this video has motivated me to remember the rest of my house and just go for it!
This has been the most real and relatable decluttering video I’ve found ever - thank you for sharing your journey. I share some of the same struggles with letting go of things and can apply what I’ve seen here. Absolutely love your approach
instead of feeling bad about getting rid of things, we can focus on not letting things we don't want/love/need into our lives! great video
Thank you so much for an HONEST decluttering video. The fact that it took you a long time to do is encouraging. Sometimes it feels like people expect it all to happen at once and it just doesn’t.
Decluttering for me is such a fun experience! It's sometimes a struggle for me to differentiate between "I like and will use it this" and "I don't like this/I like this but not in a way where I can use it" when thinking about what things I want to keep, but I'm getting better at trusting my decisions. I'm glad you got to simplify your space!
I love this. I related to you so much, I often struggle with feelings of guilt when throwing things away or giving them away. It's refreshing to see someone also has the same problem, and seeing them manage it. Thank you! 🩷
Aw I’m glad!! Thank u!!
This video is everything. The mindset that you have about guilt and hoarding is exactly how/why I have little weird piles of useless stuff all over my little apartment. I’ve tried several times to declutter but I’m re-inspired to tackle it again. Thank you! ❤️
Honestly, this is so enjoyable to watch, and inspiring. It’s like I’m watching myself! Haha I am the exact same (trash hoarder) and it’s so hard to get rid of it when you don’t know how! I know you know. ❤
I’m so glad I found someone doing this in a small apartment with like normal things lol. Books and art supplies is so hard for me. But I have NO space for hobbies. Thanks for posting!
Omg no poor baby! That plant is healthy and growing in its natural shape! It's used to growing on walls and is perfect for a living wall! I love that plang and I was actually surprised how big it is! And I actually believe you can just cut them shorter and stick them into the earth, they'll grow new roots and live on🙈 that's at least what I've learned in my internship at a great gardening place
Your video came up in my suggestions while sitting on the couch trying to find the courage to fold my laundry. Now, I am watching this video while folding my laundry - you gave me the motivation. Thank you 🙏🏼
I love how artistic she looks and her living space represents her soo well.
This was so motivating and fun to watch, thank you very much for sharing!!
This is the first decluttering video out of the hundreds I've watched that brought me joy, motivated me, and made me excited to declutter. It was so helpful to watch your realistic process and allow myself grace to not commit to doing it all at once and perfectly, i.e. fancy containers, complicated systems, and mental warfare. LOL! Thanks so much for the inspiration and for sharing this with us.
ty for such a relatable video! I played it on the side while I decluttered my own space
This was great! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm happy you're feeling better in your space.
Blue hair and orange hoodie is giving Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind vibes and I am loving it 🧡💙
Thank you for giving me the energy I needed to start packing and organizing
This is so calming and relaxing. Thank you!
i randomly found your channel and i gotta say i love your vibe and energy!! your apartment is to die for & you did a great job decluttering! definitely motivated me to do it myself haha
I loved this. It inspired me to declutter, thank you! You have great personality
Love how accessible this was! It’s motivating me to go what I gotta do.
I actually used your video as a guide and as motivation. And, so thank you for that!
The colours through the apartment are so cool! I just moved, so it was nice to see some (kinda) relatable chaos. Very satisfying and uplifting!
I really enjoyed this! It was such a genuine decluttering video, and the feelings you described I can wholly relate to! ❤️
LOVED your video. You’re so easy to watch, and your apartment is so cheery and adorable. It’s fun to watch someone with my same taste and interests declutter. Thank you!
One of the most realistic decluttering vids ever
very satisfying to watch your space open up. good job on setting your goal and persevering!
You did such a good job letting things go in your closet. Awesome!
You did such a good job! I love how bright and colourful your apartment is
this is the first video I watched of you and I love the cozy vibes 🥰
I’m glad I’m not the only one that gets sad about parting with socks with holes 😂
Yay thanks for sharing this!! Totally relate to trash hoarding. I loved the “can’t think about how to get rid of things while sorting what to keep or not” approach. Seems so helpful.
i love these kind of video , i play them whenever i am cleaning , keep company and def motivates you to keep cleaning and organizing
What a lovely vibe your apartment has! The colours, plants, and lighting look so good :)
I’ve been decluttering for a couple years and each time i get rid of more but keep the things I actually love. I’m starting to get to a point where im not overwhelmed and everything feels intentional. So keep at it girl!
This is exactly what I’m doing this weekend! Very motivating and relatable 😂🖤
I always love to watch these types of videos while I do it myself with my stuff 🩷
i just decluttered my closet and omg thank you this was so motivating
You motivated me!! I paused a few times to go declutter stuff throughout the day and will do more tomorrow! Thank you so much 🥹🥹
The first video of yours that I've seen, and I really enjoyed watching. I like seeing what stuff people have, and then what they value and what they discard. I find the whole process quite fascinating!
Cute, funny, & real. This video was great! Thank you for sharing. 🤗
I love this video. The desk organization was very satisfying. You have a great apartment. Nice boxes are hard to part with. I'm impressed that you kept going through the whole apartment and it looks amazing!
Your apartment is so beautiful and colorful! I think you did a great job!! 😊
Your apartment is so cute! Love the colour theme 🌷
Thank you, your style inspired me in addition to the decluttering!
this was so satisfying to watch, and is inspiring me to give my space a good declutter. Also I love your apartment, it's so cute! especially the yellow couch
Thank you for showing the real time line. It helped me to be kinder to myself
Thank you very much for this declutter video😊 it helped me very much to feel inspired for decluttering my own home. Thank you for being so realistic, honest and relatable :)
Great job decluttering! I've been doing that recently and I have to really think about what I bring in and what I take out in my small space. Congrats on getting it done and being motivated! I love the beautiful pictures on your walls.
Wow, this was so great to watch!! I can relate to your thought process. Its real. It's difficult. It's life. I'm very proud of you. Keep clobbering it, girl!! 😊
I just came across your videos, I love the colour grading so much it's so cosy!
This has been the most relatable video on decluttering and the feelings of guilt that come with it all - thank you!
Organizing & cleaning always makes me feel relaxed, today I was not feeling well enough to do it my self so watching your video was a nice alternative! :)
Ah, I feel you-packaging is nice, man! It's designed to draw us in and make the product inside more covetable, so of course it feels like it has value sometimes.
I absolutely love all the art in your space!!
Love your energy. 💫
I like to watch these types of videos where a space is revamped/ decluttered. After seeing yours I feel proud of what you accomplished and look forward to seeing more of your videos! Also I'd love to hear how you like Jenette's Memoir!
I love how everyone is decluttering and making their life easier.
never seen your channel befand i absolutely LOVE how bright the colours in the video seem. very west anderson, and very chill vibes 🥰
You did such a great job in this video!! It’s completely real and very motivating!
I love that you shared about it taking you 5 months. I didn’t realize that from the video. You definitely inspired me to declutter my own belongings. I’ve honestly been wanting to do it for months now. I might even film myself doing it & share it as well. The thought of recording myself is what’s been lowkey kind of stopping me…but I think it’d be fun. Lol
Yes! U did amazing! Imperfect is the only way to get thru it! So realistic and it definitely motivated me to declutter my dresser and dining room!😅
Thank you for this video!!! ❤
You did a great job! Decluttering is def an ongoing process. I’ve learned to trash/donate things immediately when they no longer serve me. Another thing is to give yourself boundaries for categories that you can’t surpass. There’s a lot of self talk to let go of stuff because of guilt or you may need it someday.
Love how you decorate your apartment ❤❤ I'm still figuring out how I like my space to look like but yours feels like something I can get inpspiration from
So inspiring ❤ clutter has been ruling my life lately. I need to get started!
love this perspective. just put them aside and don't feel pressured to decide how you will get rid of it right in that moment.
I love how honest you show your process and how it seems so real and not made up or staged, thx for this and I love your place!
I found your video while doing decluttering in my house and it was so so cool to just do my stuff while listening to you. Like it’s really helped me to relax and realize that I’m not alone with all of those feelings. I do the same thing with leaving stuff and then finding it a year later like Taylor forgetting I didn’t throw it out for some reason. Thanks a lot for the video!
This is literally my comfort video
This is my first video from you! subbed and liked - this could not have been seen by me at a better time I'm really struggling to declutter and i love the steps you took
Loved your video. I think you did a great job!
the library is a great resource for cookbooks! i love cookbooks but they definitely take up space.
The level of commitment to doing your whole apartment, kudos! A very satisfying video to watch.
you have such a nice and chill vibe!! love your energy❤
Your apartment is super cute and colorful! I watched this to inspire myself since I'm about to start my own decluttering project and it worked! thank you!
i was declutterring/ cleaning my room while i was watching this! thank you it was so calming and nice to have someone clean with me 🤭
