Jeff can you help me, i have a question, i recently purchased a Rav4 2021 XLE, and im having issues with the bluetooth sound, when i pair my device, my music no matter with which player i reproduce it, block the audio and bring it back every time. I dont know why is that happening, even the calls are being affected

My husband said they don't tell you this bc they want you to purchase the option to have one....prob true so THANK YOU Jeff for showing this but a friend of hubby's from work told him about it... There is also some app you can download from your phone but he said they charge for that too...I'm gonna check that out now to see what it's about.... :-)
I was debating on purchasing a remote starter for both the 2020 Rav4 that I bought 18 months ago and my recently purchased 2021 Tacoma. I had been doing some research on remote starters and happened across this video explaining how to tell if you already have a remote start feature. I figured that I didn't have anything to loose so I tried the procedure on both vehicles and to my amazement it worked! Thanks for the video Jeff, you saved me a lot of money and aggravation!

It worked on my new 2021 Rav4 Hybrid Limited and my wife’s 2021 Venza Limited, however the timing had to be just right. Also Jeff you failed to mention the engine will shut off when you unlock or open the doors. I assume this is an anti theft feature but you would think by having the SmartKey nearby that it could override this and keep the engine running. Anyway another great video.

@@brandylmcquillen5361 there is no way to override this. If you remote start your car, the min you open the door, it will shut off the engine. It's an anti-theft feature

Finally! I’ve found someone who is as excited as me about remote start!! ... but my 2020 Corolla Hatchback XSE with Audio Plus doesn’t have it...it’s a 6 -speed manual!! 👍🏼 I did, however, have the all-windows-down from the key feature enabled, you should demo that- I’m sure lots of people would like that too!

Hi Jeff I love your you tube videos Well done. I have a 2020 hybrid limited but it doesn’t start remotely. I tried several times,there must be something wrong with it. Any advice?
Curious thing about the remote start, I tried Jeff's tip on my friend's 2021 XSE and it worked (she didn't even know and the dealer didn't tell her. Vehicle had Premium Plus Audio). But, after I shut the car off and retried after a few minutes, it wouldn't work (lights wouldn't flash after third press-nothing). However, retrying after about 15 minutes, the remote start worked again. Seems to be some sort of restart delay. Note: She worships my genius now. After soaking that up for awhile, I told her about Toyota Jeff's Channel. Ha, ha!
It seems the timing has to be just right, I got it work twice in less than 5 minutes, but I had to try maybe 3-4 times the second time. Maybe the timings of the presses has to be just right, but I’m not sure, that was my first and only time I’ve ever tried it.
I have a rav4 se 2022 hybrid, that does not have audio+. After watching this video I tried the trick and it works for me.

Hi Jeff. I have ordered a new RAV4 AWD in Executive trim. This version is quite like the USA Limited with the chrome door handles and leather seats. What I can’t find in the description, not in the brochure or anywhere else, is whether the audio system still features AM reception. Quite unlike other places on this planet, AM radio is pretty much alive in The Netherlands, no, these are not pirates but licensed stations. I know that there are differences between European and USA versions like frequencey steps and the lack of sat reception outside the USA but other than that, the systems were pretty much the same. You know, I just recently got one of these, granted it’s a 16 but it’s a limited and I never knew if it had remote start because it didn’t have the usual start button. Either way this video just randomly popped into my feed and boy Andy I ever glad it did, I was thinking I was going to have to get one, granted I never check the manual yet to be sure but based on the fob….so, I tried what you said and VROOM!! I’ll be darned, the bigger started, what a nice surprise, thanks for the video and thank god KZhead threw it up for me to see or I’d have waited to check the manual.

@@reganharvey8468 you download the Toyota app (connect to your Toyota) and it walks you through the process. I had to go to my car and do stuff on the screen to link the app to my car. My Rav came with one year free keyless entry. You can lock your doors from the app and see your mileage, etc. it’s pretty cool!

I’m so on FIRE right now out of excitement to discover that my XSE Hybrid has all the bells and whistles including REMOTE START-- but, I’m super effing pissed that my dealership told me that it does NOT unless I keep subscribing to the ENTUNE SUITE! I just now got one of these sitting in our driveway just moments ago & 1st & foremost as he just mentioned the sound system OMG that's my favorite part so far I LOVE THE THUMP sound & of course when he mentioned Eminem that's the 1st song I heard on it!!! & I didn't think the remote start worked bc you can't hear it running but it does!! It is a XSE version (I think lol) hubby just brought it home for me...will maybe take it for a spin myself later BUT hubby says it drives GREAT & it's comfy (he's a bigger built guy) so for him to say it's comfy IT MUST BE 🤣...Can hardly wait to explore all the options it has WISH ME LUCK LOL

Jeff, can you drive a rav 4 xse hybrid 2020 without a key? I just bought one and I realized that I can use the app on my phone to switch on the car even without being on the same location where my car was parked but was wondering if you could actually drive it without a key fob

Hello! Nice to have found a good resource! I'm considering buying a 2021 RAV4 XLE Premium which does come with the audio and weather upgrades. The dealer (Honda) told me I'd have to buy a chip (or something) and have it installed to be able to remote start. Living in MN, auto start is a big deal for me! I called several Toyota dealers to get the real info and nobody I talked to could tell me! According to this. I should be able to remote start as it is... right?
Also, would I be able to remote start with the app?

I just picked up my 2021 RAV4 TRD and sadly it does not have this. I wanted the weather package - and that came bundled with the JBL sound system (required to get both from factory). Likely the wiring is different for JBl than the Audio Plus... so i suspect that with JBL upgrade key fob won't do this auto start trick. Bummer. Doesn't stop me from LOVING my new RAV tho :) Might want to test JBL upgrade on other models to see if that negates the Audio Plus remote start trick on them too :)

Wow, who knew! Does this apply to pre-2021 Toyotas as well (got a '16 Camry XLE, which does have an audio system above the standard Entune system)? If so, cool! But if not, that's ok, as I've got an aftermarket remote start system on mine. But this is cool to know for whenever I step up to a RAV4 and opt for either the XLE Premium (of which I'd then I'd need it to have audio plus) or Limited (which would have premium audio standard with the much nicer JBL sound system too). Interesting how the dealer doesn't tell us this...

Hi Jeff! My name is WILBERT. I have a 2022 Toyota RAV4 limited with a grade advanced technology package. I checked the window sticker, and then it has the audio plus option. Unfortunately, I tried many times to start my car with the remote key by following your instructions on the video, and it doesn’t work in my car. Press the lock button one time, and release, second time, and release, and then third time, and hold down. Is there anything that is deactivated by mistake in my settings?
I wish it stayed running when I open the door but it shuts off. I know it's to prevent theft, but the smart key should be able to override that feature. Also, the TRD tech package is really rare for 2021, settled for the TRD weather package in white.

I found that remote start feature works with one of my FOB's but not the other. I have a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid LTD. Not sure how to get the other FOB to remote start it?
If i buy another remote ( viper or another name.... ) for RAV4 XLE should it works ?
However, will a 2023 gas LE base line remote start via the Toyota app and the on the go subscription? I did added the app and bought the subscription....still can't figure out how to remote start it.
