LYRICS
Are you still mad I kicked you out of bed?
Are you still mad I gave you ultimatums?
Are you still mad I compared you
To all my forty year old male friends?
Are you still mad I shared our problems with everybody?
Are you still mad I had an emotional affair?
Are you still mad I tried to mold you into
Who I wanted you to be?
Are you still mad I didn't trust your intentions?
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are
Are you still mad that I flirted wildly?
Are you still mad I had a tendency to mother you?
Are you still mad that I had one foot out the door?
Are you still mad that we slept together even after
We had ended it?
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are
Are you still mad I wore the pants most of the time?
Are you still mad that I seemed to focus
Only on your potential?
Are you still mad that I threw in the towel?
Are you still mad that I gave up long before you did?
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are
Of course you are

    • Alanis is a fan of Kevin Smith's movies. There is a reference to 'Clerks' in her track 'Ironic'. I watched an interview about how Alanis contacted Kevin and he wrote the role of god especially for her. He said that she is the nicest person he has ever met.

    • Under rated as hell was funny and made a lot of good points of religion like we shouldn't be fighting about it with eachother we should focus on the common ground, of loving and serving our lord and savior God. That goes with politics as well we get so torn up about the difference of idea's of each party we need to focus on the common ground like I love America you love America lets get a beer and celebrate this great country we've created its flaws and all. Yeah we got problems but no country comes close to the amazing level of society and technology we have created. Im just saying we need to agree on more shit not fight to the death about every little fuckin choice there is to make

  • This song should make people return to some kind of faith. Today the country is full of a mixture of self hatred and also insane narcissism, yet this song expresses the idea that there is a Being who really does see what terrible and wonderful things we can do and still we are loved. "Dogma" is such an underrated film. Another underrated film that it oddly reminds me of is "Dancer in the Dark". They are both very spiritual and are about regular people, more or less, and the music in both films are divine, you might say...

  • One of the best things she has ever done in my opinion. Amazing song writer and amazing lyrics. I always thought she sang the song as if she were god talking to mankind since she played god in the movie which is beyond brilliant.

  • Every time I hear it, it's both beautiful and scary. It's like the auditory equivalent of 'living in interesting times' forever, with an observer you really shouldn't have to have.

  • I would LOVE to see Alanis shaking while singing live the "ah ah ay ah ay ah ay ah" parts or whatever way it can be written. (I'm writing this while having a migraine with aura crisis, yes, listening to this while having this near death experience)

  • I was so blown away when she appeared in Dogma, such perfect personification of the unimaginable. This song is much the same, a collection of sounds from around the world combined in a song about everyone, individually and as mankind on the whole. I love this song!

  • I discovered Alanis Morissette through Dogma, and wow such a voice, and songs that have something to say, it’s refreshing. As someone from the current madness that is the US this song seems relevant.
