    • With Paulie trying to flip in season 4 It just makes me believe 100% that Tony dies at the end of season 6. Paulie would become the boss or would join NY as a high ranking member since there were many available spots.. What a great show I just finished it last night.

    • @@taylor0000027 I think Tony dies there too, cuz Meadow doesn't know how to drive, she would have been in the booth and possibly blocking an attack? Funny how Paulie of all characters survives it all. And idk if it's just me... But I seem to have a love/hate with just about every character on the show, except Tony's dumb kids. The acting is so good they really sold their characters.

    • @@se7enthsoul - SAME! The only time I was ever on her side was when she killed Richie after he punched her in the face. But, that wasn’t really about me being on *her* side, specifically. I was on the side of a woman who was just assaulted by her partner. Immediately I was pissed at her again when Tony had to come over & fix everything for her while she did nothing but act like a broken victim, then run away. If you shoot a guy, you better be prepared to clean up after yourself, or you only have yourself to blame. I don’t mind Tony’s help…I mind that she left the responsibility on him, exclusively. Although one of my favorite all time Sopranos moments was when she was getting on the bus & she asked Tony what he did with Richie’s body. She annoyed me even more when she was with Bobby. She’s just always doing manipulative shit…..but even when it works the way she wanted it to, there’s just no reason for any of it.

    • I have 3 friends who are huge fans of the sopranos. These are dudes who work in construction, in law enforcement, and a barber, Yknow every day normal dudes. They spent so many years quoting the show, cracking jokes from the show, and making references that I figured they were super fans. During the pandemic I decide to actually watch the show for the first time and was blew away how amazing it was, and I ran to them to talk about the show. I then learned they didn’t even understand most of what was going on in the story, especially the last season. I’m of the belief that A LOT of sopranos fans don’t understand the greater story as a whole and just love the jokes and the dark comedy among the colorful characters.

  • Tony was definitely wacked in that diner at the very end, just in time for Meadow to witness it. Tragic, but you’d expect nothing less than that. There are a few reasons that’s the case but chief among them is that at the beginning of the final season Tony discussed the fact that being assassinated would be quick and just cutting to darkness

    • one thing that bugged me was that both Carmela and A.J. looked nervous and kinda sus when they entered the diner, and this could have been a coincidence but neither of them sat at the right of Tony, leaving an empty seat for Meadow that was conveniently late, so the hitman could had a clear shot once he exited the restroom. For years this made me think that they set him up. Anyway, the writer explained many times that anyone can picture what he wants to (it's a beautiful finale indeed, but clearly anyone that closes his series with a cut to black and say "now finish it how you want" took the easy path)

    • The reason the series ended like it did was because Chase, the actors and the studio were in discussions for a possible Sopranos feature film. If the check was big enough and Gandolfini had lived Tony would have been fine in that diner.

    • What’s hilarious and still spot on is how I know dudes who watch the show, feel enlightened from watching the therapist scenes. They say it gave them perspective and something to consider. Meanwhile, these same dudes have a wide array of issues that severely impact their lives, which prompted me recommending them going to therapy but they get so defensive/angry and claim therapy doesn’t work and it isn’t a cure all.

Livia telling Junior" she didn't know Brendan" and his murder started a domino effect on Junior's crew AND the family being decimated, Carmela not only being com plicit in Tony's action but also affection how he made decisions within his crew (questioned Vito,Paulie and Christopher to Tony) and Janice went from acting sneaky and stubborn like Johnny Boy to also being more like Livia towards the end

  • I didn't have cable, so never watched The Sopranos when on HBO. HOWEVER, when A&E picked it up, their promotion was insane. They had, pre-airing, a game where you could get points for predicting how many times Carmela, Tony, etc.would wear gold jewelry, or Tony would smoke a cigar, or someone would drink booze, and the like. Of course, ppl who had seen it before would win easily, but I found it fun to play. That promo really hooked me - even though The Sopranos had come and gone as a cultural phenomenon. I love the series and have watched it many, many times! Use quotes from it ...a lot. Your recap is terrific! And that "cut to black" STILL makes me teary-eyed...always. Thank you!

  • Lol why do people go with the ambiguous ending. Bobby says “I bet you won’t even hear it” foreshadowing it. He died in that diner and at the time we all kind of laughed at people who didn’t get that.

    @Bhamloud47@Bhamloud47 Жыл бұрын
    • Because it didn't happen on screen...and there was no mention of it on screen. So it's just fan fiction. You could say ANYTHING and assume that's exactly what happened but it doesn't matter. If it doesn't happen on screen or isn't mentioned on screen, it isn't canon . David Chase said numerous times how he intended to have him die, but ultimately left it up to the audience to decide. Which is nothing but fan fiction. Maybe junior got his memory back and became boss again. Not likely, but it doesn't matter...didn't happen on screen. As far as we know , tony is alive, and probably in jail......but we don't know because we didn't see it.
