Yes, and it served as the game's turning point. But considering the 3-0 lead, coupled with numerous PPs, the Canucks had ample opportunity to bury any ideas of a comeback. Sadly, the game was theirs to win, but they couldn't do it. That said, its game 1 of the year. Hopefully, they'll learn from this and play a better game in Philly. Or, the defense will be shaky on the lower lines, they'll be exposed as anticipated, and the West Coast will be served yet another year of great expectations not realized. If this occurs, expect Bruce to be gone and significant changes to the team's core. Hope I'm wrong about the latter possible future.

After this first game: - the oilers look like a mean team. This team looks like that great combination of talent and physical. That goal song, bringing back the late 90s and early 2000s techno goal song is awesome. Sure makes the goal song here in Toronto look like garbage. - king Leon looks nasty again. -Evander Kane might be quickly becoming one of my favourite players in the nhl, everyone loves a comeback story. -Soup played great. Let some weak ones in but shut the door when the team needed it and that’s what you need from a starting goalie. - Aaaaand Mcdavid, what can you not say about this guy that’s already been said. He said he wanted to score more this year, and he comes out with a hatrick in his first game.

Sloppy plays by Edmonton gave Vancouver a good start, like the Holloway giveaway. Sloppy plays by Vancouver caused them to lose, like that pass attempt on the power play that led to a 3 on 1 the other way. Kane could have scored the empty netter but that was a good pass to McDavid who had a better angle.

Yes, and it served as the game's turning point. But considering the 3-0 lead, coupled with numerous PPs, the Canucks had ample opportunity to bury any ideas of a comeback. Sadly, the game was theirs to win, but they couldn't do it. That said, its game 1 of the year. Hopefully, they'll learn from this and play a better game in Philly. Or, the defense will be shaky on the lower lines, they'll be exposed as anticipated, and the West Coast will be served yet another year of great expectations not realized. If this occurs, expect Bruce to be gone and significant changes to the team's core. Hope I'm wrong about the latter possible future.

After this first game: - the oilers look like a mean team. This team looks like that great combination of talent and physical. That goal song, bringing back the late 90s and early 2000s techno goal song is awesome. Sure makes the goal song here in Toronto look like garbage. - king Leon looks nasty again. -Evander Kane might be quickly becoming one of my favourite players in the nhl, everyone loves a comeback story. -Soup played great. Let some weak ones in but shut the door when the team needed it and that’s what you need from a starting goalie. - Aaaaand Mcdavid, what can you not say about this guy that’s already been said. He said he wanted to score more this year, and he comes out with a hatrick in his first game.

Sloppy plays by Edmonton gave Vancouver a good start, like the Holloway giveaway. Sloppy plays by Vancouver caused them to lose, like that pass attempt on the power play that led to a 3 on 1 the other way. Kane could have scored the empty netter but that was a good pass to McDavid who had a better angle.
