The obvious problem with fighting someone on 2 weeks notice is that you have had no opportunity to specifically train for that opponent. You spent all your camp training for the original one. So, the advantage is sometimes with the person stepping in.

Call Me Papi Here's the problem - you have spent a lot of time & money training for a specific type of fighter. All the sparring partners you brought in were to mimic him. Even the conditioning drills were built to exploit his weaknesses. Then someone else steps in who is a very different fighter, has been on 'stand by' anyhow and now you're quickly having to get up for a fight with some you were never scheduled to fight. Bisping - Rockhold 3 would sell plenty of tickets. Bisping might as well cash in. He's not got too many years left and may as well go out on a money spinner.
If that's your argument then Rockhold isn't a fighter at all, he is just a pussy. All in all Rockhold had more training coming into the match, while Bisping was doing fuckall probably drinking beers and eating burgers while shooting for a new movie. I would understand your argument if the tables were turned and Rockhold was the challenger and Bisping was the champion, but as a champion you should be standing head and shoulders above everyone else in the division. Look at Cruz, DJ, McGregor, RDA(when he was a champ), Silva, GSP. Just an example (I know im gonna get the "McGregor fanboy" treatment) but look what he did when Aldo pulled out of the fight. McGregor went and beat Mendes who isnt just some unranked fighter. That's the sort of shit champions do.
