It's inspiring, nothing wrong with that at all. Only some of the extremer end of the Yanks says this sort of thing, because of how they're educated. In their mind The Yank is allowed , USA USA USA proud proud, but not the English man, Look when Mike Tyson on hotboxing, repeatedly mentions something positive about the English in terms of a warrior tradition, and the American guy he's says it to , never knows how to respond, + looks really fucking uncomfortable like he's learned something different from what he got taught in history at school lol Is it like a Yank brainwash? Cognitive dissonance, Yeah anyway we get it, fine, but no one ever slaps these fuckers in the face, by pointing out common sense to them, the basic concept, from George Washington. to General Patton, the two greatest martial heroes in US history ,their veins were full of fucking English blood, These are English cowards that they look up too in their US martial tradition. Like it or not, their genetics were not from the other 195 countries on the earth! Hard I'm sure for a humble Yank to get his head round I can imagine. If I was a Yank I'd probably struggle with it too ,I feel for you Gentlemen sometimes honestly not an easy circle to square.Well.. As I already said, he is a great analyst but there are many fighters who could give their perspective but they aren’t working for the ufc - my point being that it MAY be some way for the ufc to try to ensure Financial security for Bisping as he had to stop fighting. There are/were people who have warrior like performances (Ortega vs Max), even warrior type periods in their career, but eventually most people fade out and become more concerned with their health and how they perceive fighting, - which most people can understand 100% - we saw this with Nick Diaz for example. But Bisping without a shadow of any doubt, was a warrior from the beginning to the absolute very end.

You couldve said Diego Sanchez, Dan Henderson, shogun, wanderlei, matt brown, just to name a few if you talking about guys who lost their chin but once had the best. But to whos a warrior, there is alooooot. Man theres so many. Ortega and holloway fight was one sided. Hell, even if it just matched your natural eyes I would do it since I suffered a medical accident awhile back that rendered my retinas super sensitive to any bright lights. • I was in second grade when I lost my right eye to a pencil thrown across the room. It was my dominant eye, and it took a while before I was able to do things like pick up a glass without misjudging and knocking it over, or walking through a doorway without bumping my shoulder. Longer still before I could catch a baseball or accurately throw one. I say a "long time", but a 7 year old adapts pretty quickly, and by the time I was 9 or 10 the only things I had trouble with were those that didn't have anything for reference to size right next to it, giving me an idea of how close it was (such as catching a baseball in mid air), but I was even getting better at that. As I got older, my left eye compensated, and I enjoyed 20/10 vision in it until only very recently as with age things tend to deteriorate. Now I use reading glasses and soon may need corrective lenses to drive. My eye gets tired much sooner than it ever did in the past. I've had a slight case of glaucoma for the last several years, and last year my eye doctor told me I was developing a cataract, but stressed that it was normal at my age, correctable since we caught it early, and nothing to worry about. Having only one eye for most of my life didn't slow me down or hold me back from anything except joining the military (which was ironic because I lost the eye in a school on a military base because my father was in the Air Force), getting a commercial driver's license, and getting a pilot's license. Disqualified from all three of these because of a lack of peripheral vision on my right side and a lack of depth perception. All things said and done, I think having lost the eye so early in life was good for me. At an early age it became second nature for me to pay a little more attention to virtually everything I did so as not to be clumsy or awkward and to try to be a little more precise in everything I do physically to prevent spills or mishaps. Consequently, by the time I was in my teens, it was often remarked on how fast I could learn and become accomplished at any new skills or activities that involved my hand/eye coordination. Where everyone else took weeks or even months to become proficient at many new activities, I took days, and as time progressed, I got better at it faster than they did. Shooting, for instance. I grew up hunting and fishing. I have been shooting and have been around shooters my entire life. Beginning with a BB gun at 6 years old, then a .22 rifle at 8 years old, I have owned and shot guns since I was tall enough to keep both ends of a rifle off the ground at the same time. I had to learn to shoot a long gun (shotgun or rifle) left handed so I could use the sights or scope with my left eye, but that was no big deal. To this day I only know of one person that ever outshot me with either a rifle or handgun. I'm also a fairly decent pool player, having won my share of tournaments. Maybe it's because I grew up not remembering what it's like to have depth perception, but I just don't feel that having only one eye is that much of a hardship. I guess it comes down to not knowing what you have until you lose it or, in my case, not knowing what your were missing when you never had it in the first place. Once in a while, I say that I know why the 3 legged dog still runs and plays. All that being said, I still wouldn't want to fight Mr. Bisping even if he were tied up and I had a baseball bat and a 24 hour head start.

  • i've had an eye injury, had to wear a patch for a few weeks. it was already rough, especially the loss of depth perception and your peripheral vision (eg walking in crowded streets, riding motorbike). can't ever imagine how it is having to fight with one good eye, bisping really sacrificed a LOT and put his whole body on the line.

  • Bispings a hero to me, had a similar situation getting my retina torn. For wrestling I had to wear this facemask and it sucked, it would block my vision and opponents would have something extra to grab on to. Long story short, started cheating my eye tests and got out of that thing. Figured it should be up to me whether I want to risk my eye sight or not. Shoutout to my cyclops brothers out there.
