Ya boi edited this one. More on the way: www.youtube.com/@bluefi I think he did an incredible job - don't you agree?
Love your vids and this one! I do think that some of the sound effects are a bit too loud and frequent. It took me out of the narrative style your vids have. Some feedback from a longtime viewer. Dont get me wrong, it's still an AA vid. Great stuff.
@@yoyo11215 Yeah this will probably iron out over time, I noticed that in a lot of channels a new editor can get a bit over-zealous with audio and visual effects, but otherwise pretty good work ^^
you said you were going to respond to applicants around april 10th and I was still waiting seems like I didn't make it through
@@yoyo11215agreed, I also felt the excessive sound effects didn't fit the feel that AA videos have come to represent for me
Yes lots of energy!
New editor earning his bread. Amazing work
2 years watching AA and my comment gets a like. I am humbled my Green brother.
Nice
more like earning his _brad_ heh heh
Bread??
Mmmmmmmm bread
As a person who plays Zomboid in the most cowardly, zombie-avoidant way possible, this video is like watching a madman calmly explain his nonsensical worldview to me.
Different viewpoints be like that
I killed over 500 zombies in the first 2 weeks in my last playthrough
@@notahuman7267only 500?
@@notahuman7267i killed 600 within 2 days as i wanted to live in the prison 😭
@@thelizardspotters i have a grand total of 1 zombie killed ever, and i died minutes after that too lmao
This concept really turns the usual focus of idly avoiding zombies unless you really need to attack them on its head; requiring you to get any and all you can find to have even a chance of traveling anywhere
And that’s really cool !
all I could think of was james and the giant peach where they wiggled the worm guy to attract the seagulls 😂
Let’s hope he didn’t completely abandon these “challenges” series just because one of his many exploits got patched by the developer, and he got so mad that the developer made that patch specifically for him that he quit Project Zomboid for a year straight, because obviously the whole world centered around him and PZ devs definitely made an entire game with the taking care of AA’s feelings, specifically, as it’s main foundation and preach it as their core belief.
@@SordidusFellatio which exploit was it?
@@kymlander It was called ligma.
I love the Ozymandias quote at the end. Amphibian really knows how to make bashing hundreds of zombie brains out with a crowbar classy and intellectual.
Basically can be summed up to shit happens lol
His Zomboid videos have a weird habit of randomly giving me an existential crisis.
Dude is probably an english major. He makes references that imply he is well read. I don't catch them all, but I've noticed enough.
"Accept it with grace" *Shows guy desperately jumping out of the back door, trying to crawl and scratch his way out of the horde*
this video was randomly recommended to me and i clicked out of curiosity expecting to stay for only a couple minutes at most. instead, i didnt skip a single second. great job to both you and your editor.
it happens
@@PZMaTTy okay?
@@CarefulHowYouStep just wait until you are blessed with the Gerald Williams play-through videos, once I started watching those (& subsequently watched the entire thing over 2 days as if it was a netflix series) I knew that by finding AmbiguousAmphibian I had actually stumbled into finding a once in a lifetime perfect match content creator. "Can I Survive the WORST START? | Project Zomboid ZERO to HERO Challenge #1" is the first video of it all btw :)
AA is great, I love the way he turns an ordinary challenge video into a narrative and the editing ties everything together
when your adhd is irreversibly bad:
As I learned almost at the cost of my life recently, the helicopters can now see you through windows by like 4 or 5 tiles. If you had put sheets over your windows you might have survived it and been able to manage the horde😔
copilot: OH hey look theres a survivor in that building pilot: we do a little bit of trolling. bring the horde to him
Editing was great! Editor deserves reward! How about letting them out of the basement for a minute or two? Don't let him out too long though or they'll get spoiled.
Maybe a rat or 2 as a treat!
They need to earn their tiles by killing zombies
Not only crediting Settled, but even sram1337 for the Idea! I really like that, wish more KZheadrs would be a little like you
Congrats @bluefi, pretty fun editing!
Of all the possible interpretations of "Ozymandias" by Shelley, "if at first you don't succeed try try again" is a new one to me.
Great video, as usual! I do have to comment though, the chopper event started while you were inside, and then you went outside immediately. Don't do that! While the chopper is not a physical thing on the map you can see, the game does tie it to a specific spot on the map. The chopper looks for a player outside to lock onto, and then stays over them and attracts a hoard to your location. If you had just stayed inside you would have been fine; it would have moved around randomly, stirred the zombie locations up a bit, and left.
thanks for the tip!
i didn't play the game but when i saw him surrounded by that many zombies i thought the same thing (why did you leave the house you should've stayed in your room as long as possible)
Something tells me it was for dramatic effect. He must know that surely.
@@Gr0nal Prolly a mix of that and trying to seize the opportunity for more kills and resources.
@@Gr0nal I think so, too. He does know it, it just led to a nice ending of this video
Oh sure, when Mr. Phibian kills zombies to unlock tiles, its a fun youtube challenge... but when I do it I'm called a murderer and told "you're never allowed back to this LARP ever again"... Great video :)
I am shocked he went into such a sedentary challenge without mentioning farming even once
Farming? A man of his talents?
Ah but you'd have to somehow find seeds and tools before you could.
My guy you watched the video, he didn't even see a single seed let alone a fully functional tractor, plow, tiller, combine, and silo
@@thecatthatgotaway right farming didn't exist before the invention of tractors
You need a lot of tools, water and seeds to even think about farming. I’m shocked you think farming would have done anything in this run..
*moves car 3 feet from original parking space "...As I moved the car into uncleared territory..."
Neat, gigabrain maneuver with the veeping satchel
This is like playing the floor is lava and using corpses as 'furniture' to move around on
So much to be fond of in this video. Story telling at your usual lofty standard, A street last stand for the mighty returning Gerald. The inevitable and relatable desperation of trying to smush a cluster of zeds with a car...and some stylish editing sounds woven into the adventure.
"touch grass" "nuh uh, i need to kill 7 zombies for that"
I miss your long format videos. I know they take much longer to create but it would be a nice treat here and there :)
I absolutely love all of your content, especially the perfectly executed English skills. The Zomboid vids and adventures of Torsolo have been my favorite for sure
The return of the king, Gerald Williams
the edit beast has done well, I petition for a deliverance of sustenance.
that staircase edit was stupendously slick. You better keep @bluefi and pay them more (but not so much more that they gain too much confidence in themselves)
I love your Zomboid vids! Excited to see how well this goes :) lol
The editing of 2:45 to 3:45 was absolutely beautiful Ambph, I lost my mind over it, it gave me a whole range of emotions and also impressed me, it was just a really incredible sequence in the context of the subject matter and creator intent/vision. Thank you so much for putting in so much
Dang that editer is doing good
That watch alarm thing was honestly a stroke of genius.
"and then i forgot to plan for THAT fucking helicopter" is the ending to so so many of Zomboid stories. great vid
Honestly, "the day was getting older" is a neat phrasing
your mix of comedy and dramatic storytelling really is something to behold. also props to the new editor!
I have watched this at least...ten or more times already. Very nice editing - looking forward to more!
11:40 haha love the "maybe" ruining the whole prose.
Nice! Going back to grassroots with an interesting challenge. I remember years ago when PZ/RW and occasional aimtrainer were your thing. And talking about porn use of all thi gs, and stuff on stream. Its been a wild journey seeing your content grow into itself. Great stuff.
its really cool seeing the polished/ philosophised version of this after the streams
5:25 was the coolest edit
Hey AA, I love this concept! It'd be fantastic to see more like this. I know you're burnt out on Zomboid, so this was a cool way to see more of it. You have such a fantastic, unique storytelling style.
ok first off as a Louisville native thank you for saying "louie-ville" not "lewis-ville". we mostly say "lou-ville", but it is named after king louis (louie) so atleast your technically correct
“The day was getting older” has been added to my vocabulary and you have my subscription
Me: I can't bring myself to play project zomboid, my character is safe and I'm scared to lose them ambiguousamphibian: This here is Werald Gilliams. I will try my best to make his life as difficult as possible.
I just can't get over how expertly well made this mod seems to be - Just for these types of challenges.
“Honey, get your bags and start the car. We have to go.” “Can’t.” “What? Why not?” “Haven’t killed any zombies, can only move on this one tile.”
especially compared to your recent stuff, really love this more laid back and especially less childish editing
"You know, somehow it always feels like that in the Matrix of Planning of that is Project Zomboid, something always falls through the cracks. And that crack widens into a yawning, gaping maw that swallows you up. "It's Murphy's Law; anything that can go wrong will go wrong. "[...] The folly of planning became clearly evident right in front of me." Fucking poetic
"This ridiculous weakness is perhaps one of our worst instincts; is anything more stupid than choosing to carry a burden that really one wants to cast on the ground? to hold existence in horror, and yet to cling to it? to fondle the serpent which devours us till it has eaten out our heart?"
Also loving the editing on this
Thanks - he did a great job!
Yessss!! I’ve been wanting more Project Zomboid videos! Loved this video and the editing
oh how quickly the mighty fall
I can't believe your dude doesn't have a kitchen gun.
Funny how at 8:53 there is a misplaced piece of wall inside the house. It also shows on the PZ map project at 13419 x 1581 the tall fences look super weird in this area too
this feels like it'd need the mod that kills stunlocks from zombie attacks
This was randomly recommended to me and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly suprprised by the quality. Great work by you and your editor.
3:37 This chapter should be titled, "Whispers in the Fog". And be sure to be overly dramatic about.
Love the cookie cutter suburb setting. Adds whole new layer of horror to the zom-pocalypse. Also, new editor? Congrats!
I think quoting Ozymandius in a video is probably the most AmibigousAmphibian thing I’ve ever heard
Crediting previous works makes this feel so professional!
I love you story format videos, great job on this one it was a lot of fun to watch.
Glad to see a new Zomboid video. You were the first creator I saw, and with your Single House video, and that hooked me. I got the game a few months later and it has quickly become my 2nd favorite game ever (second only to Outer Wilds).
Amazing job, I look forward to some comfy editing when you trail of on subjects of philosophy for ages. Those sort of videos have a special place for me and I look forward to seeing the stuff that will follow
Thankyou so much for showing me Project Zomboids on one of your videos! I'd never heard of it before but am now in love ^.^
Damn no way you credited everyone involved in the idea cheers man
I honestly don't understand why the helicopter event is such a big deal for people. Only time it was a mild problem for me is when it caught me out in the open, but even then I was able to sneak away eventually. Otherwise I usually wake up to it and just spend the day indoors upstairs and nothing really bothers me.
Ive been watching settled series for months and seeing this has made me very happy
"Hello!.. Is anyone there!?"
this the first project zomboid video I've watched where someone WANTS zomboids to come.
I love that this inspired Jabo to do this in Fallout 4.
Love the editing! They added just enough to enhance certain moments, yet also didn’t do too much to take away/distract from your narration and gameplay. Editor did an awesome job (and AA too, as always)!
double a batteries?
ambiguous amphibian?@@kritikalmatix
Ah good ol PZ, where you can be wearing 7 layers on your chest, arms, and neck, wearing a helmet that fully encloses your head, wearing layers on your legs, and feet, and still somefuckinghow get bitten through all of that.
The music when the chopper event started was a nice touch, the new editor is great. Keep up the great content Ambiguousamphibian.
hell yeah, I've been waiting for this ever since seeing the vod
Always good to see more zomboid! Also good job to the new editor!
Got so excited seeing another project zomboid video feel like it’s been a while
This oddly feels like a skyblock challenge but project zomboid
AA, i love the project Zomboid stuff. You got me into this game, for real.
Was NOT expecting the tiles to be that goddamn small. Damn.
I like how the zombies can give u well-needed loot
04:31 is a great fake version of audio of Led Zeppelin's, "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" (1969) [originally by Joan Baez, written by Anne Bredon (1959)].
This is how you defeat the zombies, you personally beat them to death, one at a time.
Now to do this as a group challenge! Except you don't all get to start in the same house, and each have your own tile count. You have to slowly work your way towards one another to reunite.
That Godsent Man! G E R A L D
Challenge vids like this are always so enjoyable
man stands in his living room during a zombie plague screaming at zombies as individually as possible.... well... hes doing better than the guy that got a shard of glass stuck in his groin that he later removed in a dark cold Warehouse.
5:20 holy shit thats actually incredible that you not only thought of basically making a zombie attractor but could then MAKE IT with just a satchel and some watches
Found an OP combat tactic I see no one talking about, will reveal once b42 releases
Please do more of this! I just watched the group version of this challenge on Limes channel as well and this might be my new favourite PZ challenge.
great job! your storytelling style is timeless!
Your videos are my life by this moment . Every new upload is top notch , and it’s more project zomboid!
Thanks for the content! This was a great watch!
I always love videos like this, Which you would do more on rimworld as well.
Really love the concept, i think unlocking a ''chunk'' for a number of kill would be more enjoyable, but still a good challenge.
5:25 i used the same technique but for the oposite purposes, instead of attracting i were making a noise field to make the zombies wander outside of the safe zone, it was rather effective as no zombies were getting in the city no matter how much noise i was making with car or howmuch helicopter were floating above
I didnt know it was the new guy who edited this until i saw the comments. Great job. And indeed there are now more sounds effects! I quite like it to be honest.
"but father, why can we not venture out into the fog?" "ah, my son, you were reborn only recently. you could not know. but we never venture out into the mists, not even to hunt the living. for our legends tell of a creature that lurks in the fog, one of the Living who could not be permanently slain, only imprisoned. for every one of our number it kills, its reach widens, and it calls to us in the hopes that one day it shall be free." "perhaps I could be the one to slay it, father!" "no! never. stronger ghouls than you have tried, and we all have paid the price for their hubris. in fact, should you ever hear a voice whispering to you from out of the fog, you run straight home, my son. do you understand?" "..." *"son."* "of course, father. I will be careful."
New bread editing his earnings. Amazing work!
AA is back at it again!!! LOVE your videos!
This was an excellent video. This would be a neat challenge to do in more interesting locations, or if you had the helicopter event set to very often instead of once. Then it would be like a twisted gameshow.
I'm convinced he's calling them Ghouls as a reference to Night of the Living Dead.
im hyped to see more frequent videos now that u have an editor!
Entertaining as always. Would be cool to see more
