WORSE THAN DIESELS REALLY If you don’t understand all the preventative maintenance of all the engines

  • I can tell you why the Prado 120 v6 reco engines are hard to come by and are expensive. Because they don't break so there are no broken ones to reco. Diesel engines dime a dozen, I wonder why.

    • Cuz they’re used more and also production numbers are far higher

    • might have something to do with the fact that 90+% of prados sold in aus are diesel. That usually helps with availability of used parts...

  • Thank you for a great video. I had my rig up on stands today and this was before seeing your video, inspecting a radiator leak. Mine was leaking from a crack on the side, whilst under there I inspected all bushes, control arms, general condition. My LCA need to be replaced and I’m gonna replace the radiator. Got my quote. $614 for new radiator, LCA were $1383 for one and $1470 for the other one, coming from 2 different locations. BNE and SYD 😳 and that’s just for the part, not installed. For someone like me, I live remote your videos are fantastic, they help , really appreciate your work. Thank you

  • The problem is owners dont change the engine oil every 5000 ks,and they dont do proper servicing intervals with transmissions and differentials. These toyota v6 engines are bulletproof if looked after properly. The 1mz-fe thats in my camry are the best v6 petrol engines,the only downside is they didnt run a timing chain instead going with a serpintine belt. Id go a landcruiser over a prado anyday.

  • Those suspension bushes look like super pro,they are purple and super pro use purple urethane where as nolathane are usually red,and the factory bushes are black from memory.

  • The grande without air suspension needs the blocks bolted to the base. $200 but at least the spring shouldn’t fall out. 😂

  • While I do envy you guys with Prado’s for the exterior styling, spare tire mount, second fuel tank, and manual transmission…………we got the better engine in our GX470’s. The 2uzfe is bulletproof.

  • I have a v6 Prado of similar age with 330 thousand k on the clock still runs great but if it did blow an engine i think i would just buy a slightly newer version with half the kays seems almost cheaper than a new v6 engine.

    • No before then mate,1mz-fe v6 engine are bullet proof even more so if looked after properly. My 2005 Toyota camry 3.0 v6 just clocked 300,000 ks and it runs like its a new car. One owner in 18 years,full log books up till 250,000 ks,i just did the timing belt,water pump,oil seals,bearings ect so she's good for another 100,000 ks. Doesnt use any fluids,oil changed every 3000 ks,and the older v6 engines are easier to work on. The only thing i dont like about it is the rubber timing belt,they all should be chains.

  • Bad idea to use those clamps on radiator hose’s. The don’t allow expansion like the factory spring clamps.

    @dogg15@dogg15 Жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, I grew up with worm drive clamps, but the factory self tensioning ones are brilliant and I’ve never had an issue with them. So simple you would think, how can that hold? But it does.

  • looks like that blue thing is basically clamping the induction hose to limit the air flow by acting like a throttle. That won't do any harm, but it won't do much more than limit engine power and make 100% throttle behave like 80% throttle. I don't like the idea of creating a vacuum in front of the throttle body like that though, bit like having a blocked up air filter. Now, the red clamps. Jesus donkeypunching christ what a terrible idea that is. LImiting the fuel flow (not pressure, but flow) isn't going to save any fuel. The injectors will just open for longer to compensate for the loss in flow and, at high loads, it could cause the engine to go lean and that will fuck up a petrol engine very quickly indeed. Silly ebay crap has no place in the engine bay of a well engineered vehicle. That's gotta be one of the dumbest "fuel saving" kits i've ever seen. It doesn't do anything that can't be done with the right foot and risks melting pistons or splitting fuel/intake hoses for what?!

    • @@spudboy1328 yeah magnets. If I recall correctly, magnetic field aligns the air and fuel molecules for better efficiency. What do they say about one born every minute?
