In this video I show off the upcoming Drag racing gamemode for Grand theft auto Online, It is currently unavailable as of recording but will soon be added to the game for everyone to play, it features game mechanics that are slightly different to that of a normal Grand theft auto Online race in which the player has to manually shift gears during a straight race, Not exactly sure how the logic of that will work if you are driving a vehicle that has no visible shifter stick but who cares!

Should have been an added option to the car meet or impromptu races
Speedometer better be added to all modes as an option
and manual transmission would be great too
Hopefully this means we'll be able to create our own drag races and drift races in the Creator. Some of my old races from back in the 360 days could use some updating!

Bro, at this point, why dont we have a legit universal nitrous upgrade. We have many variations of boost in game already and for the longest time, some cars even have nitrous bottles in the vehicles. (I know cuz Rockstar logic...), but like damn lol, this would be a missed opportunity. But nobody thought cop cars would ever be purchasable, and yet here they are so.
That's actually a good point. Now that you mention it, it's kinda weird that we don't have nitrous already. We had them in GTA San Andreas. And it doesn't seem like a hard thing to do either.
It makes sense for drag racing to be in games, GTA is set up perfectly for it. Except every game company seems incompetent on actually researching the basics of drag racing, so we get this... disaster

Arm wrestling has been here since 2013, but slapping has also been in this game too. You can sometimes get a b*tch slap exe on people when unarmed.

Ive always thought it was probable...they have had the props in the game for a while...plus one mission (who knows which) you pull up on a drag race in progress at LSIA...then steal the car.
The mission would be one of the collect missions for Import/Export and its not just LSIA they can spawn at. i've had moments where the spawn is at Sandy Shores Airfield

I love Drag racing but unless they make it to where you can further improve performance of cars to make them faster in a straight line you already know what the meta cars are in each class the pc didnt even get the HSW upgrades so if they added this or another feature to further max out cars this would be dope to see what the new meta cars could be. considering us PC players didnt get a HSW upgrade
I actually created a drag strip in gta to do with friend's has a working signal, and all I still prefer mine over this. 💯🤙
Adding Drag racing to GTA is a bit strange but if done right would be decent. sure as you said the races would be done very fast, but thats the point of drag races they take like seconds to finish. but i can easily bet R* knows of that and they are gonna sharply increase the payout to compensate. and i'm also predicting the race spawns isnt gonna be just at the airports. i can also see spawns at various spots on the interstates and if they do it right in specific locations in the city or Sandy Shores. and probably to add extra danger they'll incorporate traffic for those zones like in NFS Underground series, hit a car just the right speed your car is trashed
I play quite a bit of car games on roblox and typically the drag races pay alot less because the time it takes to complete them at the amount if players who do them

This is the best thing they could have added to the game after Drift update. I don´t care how long it takes to load.. Plus it won´t be just limited to the Airstrip. There will be longer Drag races on the highways etc. Have some hope ffs..

I'm on PS4 and every time I try to shift up, no button allows me to go into 2nd gear. There should have been a better guide to help us do these races.

He's complaining about load times, which is fair I guess. But then it's something new added to the game. As they say, something is better than nothing. And I'm sure some drag strip fans will love the addition, even if it's half cooked. Me personally, I love the drift tune upgrades, finally gives me a harder driving experience in GTA Online freemode. Not that I play the game much now, just play when new DLC drops, then stop in a couple days. But maybe if they're using these as testing grounds for a more refined GTA 6 experience, I'd say.... *Let Them Cook*

BORING! And nearly all cars have a top speed of 125 mph. Some more, some less. So the difference will be the start. And AWD will accelerate faster....

Drifting mode in GTA? rockstar running out of ideas
especially as it turns out they robbed the vehicle stats from the fivem server, project homecoming, drift car mods. so the drift mode is not even an original rockstar code. It's a bunch of stolen mods.
