I Love this! It seems where Iive every broad my mother's age had to have a koi pond 30+/- years ago They are pretty much all the same. This is a beautiful new idea.
One thing for sure ,if a tornado went through the area that would be the only thing still standing.
I would like to know how long the fish lived. Just dumping them in cold water like that I don’t think they would live long.

@@ianbelletti6241 Agree, I would have turned the fence around. And put live plants in it. But it does look nice. Good idea.
@@ianbelletti6241. Just speculating that the other side of the fence slats are probably slightly rounded and would provide more surface area for the concrete to settle onto and around.
@@pamskinner9490 the other side actually has less surface area but would require more work to show. They cut out work but showed us the crappy side of the fence.

I have a question...does the cement not leech chemicals into the water that harm the fish? I thought concrete and cement needed to be sealed before using for ponds?
Answer is no. Watching videos from Panama City Beach FL.
It would change the pH of the water.
I wouldn’t think so… think of all the home foundations sidewalks walls and countless other cement structures there are out there all of those things could potentially leech into the water table as well…but it was a great question and something to ponder

Yes, of course it does! Just like epoxy is very toxic... People ignore it and do it anyway. Because it's nice and it may not last long enough before they change it again. Or clean it and change out the water. These are more for temporary "nice" projects. Not a permanent code to safety proper project to commercialise and resell. Epoxy is very very toxic... I cannot understand the amount of projects for it's personal use... like I seen toilet bowl seats made; counter tops; floors. The regular use from these projects seems to have too much personal use for these to be safe in long term exposure. Some projects I can reason. I assume a sealant of some sort on the market could be adhered to it to make it more safely durable. But even jewelry is quit questionable. With all that said, I think cement is on lesser scale of toxic. But definitely regular draining and cleaning would be sufficient. 👍🏽

Please add a disclaimer about letting the cement cure for a month before ading fish. it will change the pH of the water until it cures.
Lovely project, however I’m a bit concerned for the fish in the winter months and I hope a protective net is placed over them to prevent attacks. Those grated fence panels will be hard to clean once the moss starts generating in the summer months.

@@VTAGardenTips my neighbor had a small pond and had a koy in it for 10 years. He loved the fish. One day a racoon walking by ate it 😮 . He was crushed He loved that fish. Absolutely beautiful project. You should be very proud of yourself. I would love a project like that. Brilliant idea. ❤😊
I had some of the same thoughts. I love the creativity of the project. That being said, I am wondering about another thing. 🤔why didn’t they have the pretty side of the little fence showing,instead the back side with all the joints. That seems backwards to me 🤔 I love that people have the energy to do these kinds of things 😊 I just don’t always “get” it 😊

Those poor fish will soon die due to the cement. It has to be a cement you can use with animals. This looks just like plain old Portland cement. I hope this isn't true and that you removed the fish immediately.
I just feel lost on your video clip. You don't speak you don't really write up nothing. It's nice to hear a word or two to explain what you're doing and why you are doing it that way. I am Sorry I might would've liked it if I could understand it better.
