I would rather have given it to Henrik Lundqvist, Nylander was brilliant especially after Backstrom's arrival. But it wasn't the most deciding goals from him while without Lundqvist they wouldn't have made it to the final. The other two goalies were too inconsistent and not secure enough in the net. And against Canada there was no question about it, 42 saves out of 43, closed the shop in the shootout. No one diserves to be compared the importance in that game alone. But happy for Nylander ofc. At his age among so many stars and superstars in the tournament it's an unbelievable achievement for him at his age. Another great confirmation by him.
Lundqvist arrived late in the tournament
hjaldemort Well he played in the majority of games (5 of 9) and 4 of them were playoff games who matters the most. So I'd say he did enough to be taken into account. Also Nylander didn't do so much before Backstrom came into the picture from where he really started to bloom out. If you weigh their performances Lundqvist definitely should have be in the discussion.
