Qing Wang's lab at Penn State, with collaborators at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China, have developed a new kind of material that can stitch itself back together after you cut it in half. The researchers think it could be invaluable for wearable technology.

I could see this being used for self-repairing robotics, especially in the subfield of androids. It'd be so cool to watch an android that had gotten damaged or "hurt" heal itself!
