"Landismo lives, winning that sprint with a 1500W peak" 😂😂😂😂
Jajaja
With no time bonuses, genius.
Joke, right?
Im weak 😂😂😂
I laughed out loud 🤣
Do you think you'll ever do recaps of older races? It would be really cool to see races from the 90s etc. on this channel
that’s what he used to do before he got licensing for the modern races as they occur
He had some good ones (including some great doping ones) but sadly they all disappeared.
@@jimrustle270 what do you mean "disappeared"? Did he remove them
He does some when he's not too busy.
@@vivianvandermerwe1380 I think he did. Because he didn't have a proper license I guess
Pogi made a good choice not going to UAE Tour. No long flights as it's still in the south of Spain where he's been training for 2 months, no pressure from sponsors to win, no useless flat stages and annoying crosswins, just typical Spanish climbs. Good preparation for the Tour. Also Paris Nice instead of Tirenno.
Qué duro es este deporte, Pedro
"Despierna caballos" literally means "destroying the legs of the horses" so that means its hard !!!! Love your videos !!
UAE have also moved to Enve bars (and wheels), away from Deda. The Aero SES bars are narrow at the hoods (35, 37, 39 & 41cm) and then flare quite a lot to the drops. So they've all moved to narrower bars therefore changed their positions. Looking fast af!
I was going to say... the Enve bars have a narrow top and flare out, so the section where the shifters are, is a bit skewed and automatically makes for levers not mounted straight to the ground. Wellens, Hirschi (at least in the Sunweb days) and Remco have them skewed quite a bit more, but it seems like Pogacar has adopted the same concept.
And Conti's.
Enve wheels also one of the fastest out there..
I have the same Enve Bars. 35cm top of the hoods. 40cm in the drops. If you angle the levers at the same degree as the flare it's really comfortable and aero!
Hate how expensive the Enve Aero SES bars are, but I do love how they look...
😱 Pogi took 🥈 at the TdF personally, and the man is back with a VENGEANCE!!
If I was the competition, I would be very very afraid right about now. He's on a 100% win rate this season so far 😅
Queen stage on stage 1, love it 🤣
"You ain't done yet son" LOL
Wellens can win the TDF if they move it to February imo.
Maybe someone should give him a fake calendar so that he thinks it is February in July.
😂
Wellens could win all 3 grand tours successively if they all come before the Flemish classics 😂
Hahahaha "Bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off" gold
TIM WELLENS FEBRUARY BUFF OP
TIMBO SLICE FEBRUARY STRONK. BREAKING SPIRITS, SPLITTING PACE LINES, SNAPPING SPINDLES.
as a slovenian cycling fan, big thanks for these in depth videos, it really helps us casual fans :P
Sooo good to see you again. Gracias from Spain
Pog looks like he has lost weight and in very good form.
Lost weight? How he lost weight when his abdomen looks big lol.
@@jackal6234 All pro cyclists have their abdominal look big when riding, because they are skinny and they take in as much air as they can when breathing. This is the main difference between pro and amateur cyclist, that your abd is full of fat and theirs are full of air
@@tadziu2400 okay. but still not as skinny as vingeggard
@@jackal6234 agree
@@jackal6234 That's good for Pog
1:40 I know you said everything correctly, but all I heard was "Garthia Cortina sthtill paything I think prething the lap button..." Welcome to Andalucia
Great coverage.
Thank you for the great commentary.
Great Job on the recap!
Loved seeing Pogi rail it up that short rise in the last 5km. Campionissimo stance
Despiernacaballos means that cuts off horses’ legs 😅
Don't pull his pierna🤣🤣🤣
Again, Carlos de Andres impersonation is on point!
Impatientence could be a weakness in the long run. Scary form😱 two starts two wins. Podacar optimized his position, hoping Vingegaard and Wout are there.
Dude, awesome analysis
These are the best post race analysis videos, period. Nevermind the mullet Lantern Rouge has his mojo. BTW, despierna caballos literally means tore apart horse legs.
impressive attention to detail in regards to the Spanish Ceceo
cycling isssss baaaaaccckkkk
Pog looks stronk
Wellens is the man. One of my favorite cyclists.
Yes! He is so underrated IMO. In Belgium everyone only talks about Remco, Wva, etc etc. Wellens is a beast.
@@PeerensClement Been my guy since he was so amazing keeping the polka dot jersey for nearly the entire tour back in I think 2019. Rides so hard. Gives it his all. Like Alaphillippe.
Sierra NEVADA is andalucia mate, of course there’s snow in andalucia on February 😜
Did I enjoy the video? I love these videos. The best procrastination or tea break aide ever.
"Big cadance training" hahaha love it
"maybe he's been prescribed strengthies" LMAO
New Shimano 12sp has hoods that turn in a bit from factory, and new colnago/enve bars might be flared as well
they definitely are, how interesting!
โหด
You went hard on the spanish "s" here 😅
People forgot how good pogacar is. On his best form, not even Jonas and all powerful jumbo visma can beat him. He still the best. I'd love to see him winning giro and tour on the same year
DespierNacaballos means “horse leg destroyer” - not to be confused with “despierTacaballos” which would mean “horse awaker” or something like that. :)
4:21 have you been binge watching Vingegaard interviews, old boy? “But.. Ja” in perfect Danish. On yaaa
“Get on the wheel boys” 😂
Pogi has 5 wins in his last 5 starts dating back to last season. Unreal!
Good to see C.Rod finish with 2 teammates right next to him. Oh wait
Dude. Andalucía has really high peaks, the tallest in the Iberian Peninsula actually. Look up Sierra Nevada. Also, Despiernacaballos would mean something like “Horse leg breaker”. :)
Finally a world tour race
Why is Pog doing this so early in the season? @Lantern Rouge?
last year he did it at a WT race, now he is doing at 2.Pro next year it will be a 2.1, after that pog gonna ride conti
How can he know the watts that they are delivering?
lanternerouge.com/2023/02/07/watts-primer/
Despiernacaballos sounds more like describing an effort hard enough to break horse's legs. More in tune with the stage
I do love Pogi. He's got a little bit of rockstar energy about him, sorely lacking across professional road cycling these days.
That’s exactly it. A bit of rockstar - couldn’t have put it better. It’s always entertaining watching him.
For someone who is relatively new to cycling, what does Queen Stage mean?
The hardest, most decisive stage of the race.
@@charliedillon1400 Thanks!!
Winner wears a dress and sashays! 🎉
Shit, Carlos Rodrigues is a new young gun in Ineos.
What the hell is going on with one white/one black shoe at 2:07 ???
I noticed this too. Not the first time for Covi, I think this is a deliberate style choice. I rather like it.
strengthies are underrated
They have that in Australia when you were a kid?
The 'tap on the back' I just watched a video where Lance Armstrong did that benevolently to a young rider up hill, while chasing Ulrich and Pantani to the summit of a climb. That's the TDF where he wont off course after a rider crashed in front of hi..
That was to Luz Ardiden in 2003. Pantani was not in that race, and Ullrich was well behind Armstrong on the road; the rider passed by Armstrong on his way to the stage win was Sylvain Chavanel.
@@schopenblvck705 You're right, Pantani and Ulrich. The thing I was watching a Lance vs Pantani TDF simultaneously, along with that one . . . thanks
@@savagepro9060 2000! Pantani's glance down at the watts on his power meter as Armstrong easily rides him off his wheel at the base of Hautacam never fails to amaze me.
@@schopenblvck705 Pure EP0 vs Chinese EP0 is what you guys are on about.
@@luzzyrogue Only the very best for Lance.
Pogi betrayed the road community by running widening handlebars today. Is he turning into a gravel bro O_O (Pog looking skinny already, he is ready for this season)
Why did INEOS and Bahrain merge into 1 team in 2023? And why are they allowed to field a team with double the numbers others team allowed to field?
pogs position defs improved
Flat or mechanical for Maas?
#landismovive
Santiago paid the price , when Pog hit him for the second time he was done
DespierNa is cut-legs, despierTa is wake up, subtle difference
Stupid to put the most decisive stage on the first day.
LR starting to run out of ideas for video titles lol
Don’t change a winning formula!
@@LanterneRougeCycling I mean it's true that that one had a lot of views i guess
handlebars look flared
Pog lost weight great for the tour the france
Wait til LR finds out that you can ski in Andalusia...
his bars look flared!
2 things. Sierra Nevada snow 6 to 8 months out of the year. Second, most important, it’s pronounced An da lu THEE a, emphasis on the THEE, with a lisp. As always, excellent video and report. Thanks!!!
Dude there is NO need to encourage Lanterne to overpronunciate Euro stuff, he goes all in on the lispy and phlegmy stuff trying to de-Anglicize his sound, lol! If he ever comes to the States, the Mexicans will ridicule him mercilessly.
@@charliedillon1400 Why would he ever come to our dilapidated wasteland for World Tour cycling? Pure self-hatred? Also, classic American mentality mocking someone for trying to pronounce anything correctly. Best to give up, change the channel to the Souper Bowel and snap into a Slim Jim. Bone appleteeth.
Ineos and Bahrein look almost identical man, Ineos better change their colours soon
I’d love to enjoy UAE performances, but their CEO is Mauro Gianetti.
Heyyyyyy...."Oh oh , Spaghettio's " where did you grow up ?
Brisbane
@@LanterneRougeCycling I thought so..Andorra now ? Good memory on Spaghettio's. Great show!
oh not
Is pogacar in peak form too early in the season? Even for the spring classics. It may also bite him back for his tdf goals.
He said that he didin't do training to peak here and that they were planning to peak in around mid to late march or even April. So I don't think that this is his peak form, he will probably still improve.
Yeah, everytime someone wins, it must be because he is in absolute peak form.
If you look at the numbers it doesn't look peak to me at all. More likely the others are even less in shape while Pog has (like almost always) a really good base shape.
Carlos Rodriguez’s di2 or etap battery may have died.
Un oh spaghetti o’s
Pog and UAE looking good until TJV hits them hard in july
You’re forgetting the best rider is POG and Roglic #2 sorry to burst your bubble. Jumbo might have a better squad but 1v1 POG is the #1 rider in the world.
@@AshKetchhum His name is Jonas but Jumbo might not have the better squad this year.
@@AshKetchhum Not sure what cloud you are living on but TJV litereally won the TDF last year because of stronger team and that too with rogla out early. IF rogla can manage to stay on his bike. No matter what UAE do TJV will end up with one of their riders in yellow.
@@harrismazari5484 hammerhead I never said Uae was better than Jumbo. Learn to read before you comment. I said POG is the best overall rider. Obviously we know riders by themselves don’t win races, good team tactics do. That being said have a nice day.
@@AshKetchhum are you really that delouded? when did I say that you were saying UAE is a stronger team? Wow some people are just plain stupid.
first
Works great until you go to dump it
Pogacar is suspect . It’s not real .
Training my friend, discipline and of course talent.
The numbers he did now weren't even 'impressive', just good for time of the year. And that is something Pog is known for: consistency over the entire year, ie. really strong base shape. The fact that Wellens held out longer than Majka and Bennett also says a lot.
Faster than Lance on drugs on some climbs last year .
@@robclarke5438 You sure about that? Lance admits to doing 500w for 30 minutes back in the day.
