  • I was there for this event. This is the single greatest live sports moment I've ever been a part of. The whole event was phenomenal and is still one of the best events ever, but this fight was still EXCEPTIONAL. This is just an all-time classic fight. One of the few 10/10s.

  • This is on my short list for best fights of all time. Gomi was the #1 ranked lightweight in the world at the time and Diaz subbed with him an omoplata which is insanely hard to pull off, especially against someone as highly rated at Gomi

    • This was actually the second. The first happened not even two months earlier when Shinya Aoki tapped Joachim Hansen. It was beautiful, but it wasn't as sweet as this one. Nick countered a takedown with a gogoplata, like it was a guillotine. And this one was all one motion.
