Hey, did you ever try the 'Fire in the Swamp' style on popcorn yet? 🥘🍳🍻 P.S. : Pork chops are great complemented with many fruits. Pineapple, apple, mangoes, orange marmalade. Man, I'm drooling! 🍑🍍🍎🍏🍐😛😛
I truly like the way you admit when you need up! No editing to make it perfect! You make it Correct!
I was gifted one a couple of years ago, It is my favorite skillet. I am going to buy the big one that they make for skillet pizza. They sell pizza dough at my local market and it's enough to four pizzas. And with what I like to put on them, It's going to be less than 4 dollars per pie. I buy good pizza where I live and it's 15 bucks every time I go. As for the Stargazer, it's an excellent skillet, well worth the money you pay for one- Maybe the best value in the Boutique Cast Iron Cook Ware Market. And like yours, it took very little time to season. I have no problem with eggs and when I do it's because I let things get a little too hot. And of course, it's American Made- While the good stuff costs a little to a bit more, you only have to buy it once.
Awesome looking dish! I recommend adding some sweet vermouth during the onion sweating phase. Keep on Cooking, Grilling and Smoking too!!!
I enjoy your videos. I almost use Cast Iron exclusively when cooking. I remember my mom having me clean a cast-iron skillet when I was a kid. I was sitting in the yard with sand and a block to clean an old skillet to get the gunk out of it. After that, I remember her washing it and then seasoning it on an open fire outside at the family campground. She used that skillet for years. I wish I had it now, I'm 50 now so no telling where that skillet is now. Thanks again for your videos.
Amen to not being afraid to use metal in your cast iron!
i liked your camping with millenials episode. would LOVE to see more with them. teaching millenials how to cook, season, clean cast iron etc
Well apparently you were one of the few that watched that video. Those guys work crazy scedules and camp during the week. I'm tring to hook up with them again., but work business hour.
Camping with Millinials!! I gotta watch that one. Old Scoutmaster here. I’ve got to deal with them all the time and it’s interesting to say the least.
Great episode, I thought it was funny. Hopefully it works out to for with them again. But if not, no big deal.
I love pork chops. I like how you just get into it and get it done. Kent complicates and makes simple food into a big task. We don't have Seminole swamp seasoning in Australia but I would like to try it. Now I'm hungry!!
Thanks for watching TJ, but Thunder Bear can only ship to US and Canada
I don't know if you know that the lids for the Dutch Ovens, the ones that have the wall for coals, can be used as a Skillet when placed upside down on top of the folding "4 in 1" trivet, with coals spread out underneath. The same one that you use as a lid holder. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.
Nice job as always! Keep it up from NC.
You moved me out of the kitchen and out to the Weber on my patio with your meal on the grill. You also had me bringing my favorite cooking utensil, the cast iron skillet. I’m now taking all my favorite cast iron recipes out to the grill. Thanks for the inspiration,
Thanks for the comment Larry. That is why I do this. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing your recipe. I love my Stargazer❣️
I very much appreciate all the education on the outdoor cooking equipment and the cast-iron! I love cooking outdoors especially when I’m filming on my channel for catch cook videos and cast-iron is the only way to go
Looks really good! The peaches are the dessert. I'll have to give this recipe a try. Looks like a keeper. The skillet too.
This dish looks amazing, I am certainly going to make this one here at my place! Love that skillet too!
Beautiful pan. Great review!
Those chops look WONDERFUL. Thanks for the lession. I will try this one.
That looks like a beautiful pan! I might have to get me one of those soon.
Nice job, great looking skillet and great looking food!
That looks like a pretty nice skillet. Might have to give one a try. Awesome dish by the way.
I will ask for one for Christmas..thanks for the video
Excellent review of the Stargazer, and thanks for testing it so thoroughly right out of the box. The pork chop recipe is a keeper. I prepared it verbatim last night and it came out perfect. The veg medley goes great together with the pork chops. Thanks for the advice on the one basket of briquettes. Plenty of heat for the whole meal! Salute’ to the chef!
Great review of the Star gazer Pan! Looks like a real winner, so does that delicious Piggy 🐷 Chop recipe. Thank you for your wonderful videos
nice review! looks goood thanks!
Brilliant. It's like art and food at the same time. I don't know whether to eat it or to take a picture and frame it on the wall.
Good looking dish for sure. I have a stargazer pan as well. The 12 inch and I love it! Glad to see you like it as well.
I bought the Stargazer 10" a few months back. What a great skillet! Your pork chop recipe is next on my menu! Love the videos!
This all looks delicious. Looks like I've got a new pan for the wish list.
loved the video , great looking the new pan, look like it cook's very nice.
LOOKS SO YUMMY!!!
Wow!! Don't know how I missed this the first ime around. Beautiful recipe. Can't wait to try.
Never thought of peaches. Got try this. Great review.
10 1/2 inch !!!! Heavy!🏋🏼well used grill👍❤️
You've inspired me to get back to cooking with cast iron. Love your videos!!
Great video. I have the same pan and love mine. When you were playing with your puppy somebody is your neighborhood was using your street as a burnout spot. He was killing on that Honda. 👍🏻👍🏻
😂 Cute dog. There is a show business rule: Never work with an animal act!
Looks very good! Just ordered a Stargazer skillet. Hope they offer a lid soon. The pan looks great and looks like it cooks awesome!
Good video. I have the Stargazer 10.5 & 12” skillets. They get a lot of use. Hope you enjoy your new skillet.
I cooked this dish a couple of months ago using a skillet and the Weber Kettle. It came out great! Last night, I did the same dish using the #10 Lodge dutch oven. It was awesome, Mr. Backwoods! Thanks for your techniques, recipes, and outdoor style! Cheers
I found your channel when the recommended video list mentioned cooking squirrel. "Well, that's something you don't see everyday." I found it fascinating and I'm going to have to try squirrel now. I'm subscribing to your channel for the cast iron. That Stargazer looks like one sweet pan. I rescued/recovered a couple of unmarked Wagner Ware pans last summer from a flea market as newbie to cast iron; they spin on the stove (not perfectly flat which is why the may have been overlooked) ... but they spin on MY stove and they are MY first rescues so they are going to get used and often. I look forward to checking out the rest of your videos.
I’m in Japan and I have stargazer, Field, and Lodge. I enjoy using them all! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😋😋😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
It looks good. Have try it.
That pork chop dish looks amazing and the new skillet looks like a keeper.
Looking great! Love the pan, might order one.
Link in the desciption.
Thank you 4 the video. I reckon, my next skillet will be a Stargazer...
I’ll be trying this - no doubt
I just recently found your page ....I’m really enjoying your videos , the 4th one I seen was you and the water well pump ...of course I was laughing because I am a plumber ...lol ...hey it’s up and running ,that’s all that matters ..I am a Kent Rollins subscriber for a few years , I’m glad Star Gazer sent you a skillet .... thanks for all the awesome videos .
It’s Memorial Day and they have a great discount for former military. That is a very special reason to place an order. I have held off previously because of price but seeing you use it makes one Hell of a difference.
This is a great Channel. Love your Dutch Oven and Cast iron one Videos. Greetings from Germany
I have a Stargazer pan from their second run a like it a lot. It is my go to pan for cooking hash browns, it really does a great job, even better than my vintage Griswold pans. I think they made some improvements to their finishing process from their earlier runs. Mine has taken a lot of use to get the seasoning where I like it. It so smooth that the seasoning has a little trouble adhering to the surface. I really like the skillet though.
I would like to get some of the seasoning. I love the skillet.
That looked delicious! Gonna have to try it out! P.S. I'd like to try some of your seasonings!
that looks so good
Ooooooo swamp seasoning! Yes pleasssseeee!!!
Man that bronze finish they put on those pans is down right beautiful! I will get one of those soon ! I for sure love that bronze haha this dish looks amazing ! Thanks again for quality reviews!

Omg I made this meal for my wife and I.It was truly amazing. Definite do over
Wouldn’t mind trying the Seminole swamp seasoning before purchasing
Have a look at the Solidteknics skillets from Australia . I'm really impressed with them .
I ordered my Stargazer right after the KickStarter ended. Then they had Foundry issues. Long story short . . . it took a year to get it and it was worth it. Great Stargazer unboxing/cook video. Eggs are a non issue in this pan.
thanks dude I was actually looking at getting one of these pans and truly you just sold me on it.
Link in the description box.
Great job star gazer is the bomb
Sure looks good, brother! 👍
Great recipe
I love my stargazer cast iron pan best skillet I have heats up so nice my first cook in my was a beautiful dry aged ribeye
Looks great
Hello from the Isle of Wight UK. I really enjoyed that review and that meal looked amazing. Atb Stuart
U have to try the crisbee puck for seasoning and maintenance it's awesome
That stargazer handle I use for a spoon handle depending on the spoon, I use wooden mostly, also stargazer is made by Veterans that’s why I bought the gazer, I have been using the gazer one year, nothing has stuck ever, but I do know what I’m doing, cowboy Ken has a great video for taking care
Looks awsome. Let's eat.
Yeah,I got me sumem square plates. Cause everything aint round in this world. Great job on the cook, bro.
Three guys that taught me how to cook, cowboy kent, Eric at cast iron chaos an you. All have one thing in common, cast iron made in USA.
How could I forget the Cajun ninja also! Thanks to all four of you
Now I'm hungry!! But Stargazer makes a phenomenal product. I had half a dozen lodge and 2 finex skillets before I came across Stargazer's new(er) 12" skillet. I really wish I found them sooner as my finex are now overpriced paper weights. Now if they would just come out with a dutch oven. That dish looks amazing. I make something similar but never thought about adding the tomatoes, great tip! Love the channel, keep up the great work.
I'm with you on a dutch oven!
What is in your favorite seasoning? Them there chops looked great
Looks great!
Thanks for watching Darla.
I just getting into cast iron cooking. Have enjoyed your videos. What is the advantage of cooking with this frying pan on a grill vs a stove top with gas burners ? Is it the smoke from the charcoal ? Thanks !
I love that swamp season a friend of mine had it love it never told me where to get it after asking multiple times
Seminoleswampseasoning.com Tell them you heard about here.
I confess it's been a bit since I checked in on your channel. That said, I love that oakie you mention, as well as that chaotic fella but you're right there with both of them in the cookin' department (although I have to say I like "the beag" better than than think you're calling a dog but to each his own). Your dutch oven Salisbury steaks have become a frequent cook in this house and these chops have some potential to as well! I think you may have just sold me a high dollar skillet too....been kickin' it around for a bit and I'm just about ready to pull the trigger! Keep 'em comin'. CHEERS!
Thanks for watching Mike.
A beautiful meal in a beautiful skillet. If you have a cookbook I'd love to buy it. I cook my own food in cast iron every day and I'd love to be able to duplicate your recipes because they are all delicious looking. From Florida have a wonderful day
I would love some swamp seasoning. that you use to learn how to cook with cast iron etc. Thank you Blessing
Was impressed with the stargazer so I ordered one.
Make sure you tel them where you saw it.
Looks delicious an send me some swamp seasoning.....lol
Do you have a link for the cast iron soap you talked about?
That's a good looking dish right there, these newer cast iron makers are putting Lodge in their place. Even the price isn't all bad on this one, thanks for posting. 👍
Check it out here: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1323656&u=1917106&m=86485&urllink=&afftrack=
i was gonna buy some of the swamp seasoning but i seen in the comments were people said it was way too salty. i still may give it a go, i like more of the lower salt stuff my self.
Hi, new to the site and new to skillet cooking, bought my first set this year and loving it. Still learning how to control the heat. Being in the UK we don't have (not sure) Seminole Swamp Seasoning, what a great name, where can I get it ? Still lots to learn, thanks for the great vids.
Great cast iron, chow that makes me want to crawl through the screen... great! And Cabela is going to be a real stinker!
I would like to try the Seminole swamp seasoning. Tell me where in west Texas I can find it. Have a great day.
seminoleswampseasoning.com Ive been using it a year now, and found that it's great on EVERYTHING! They have three blends: Original Low sodium Fire in the Swamp (really good on popcorn!)
Those pork chops are as luscious as Jennifer Aniston!!!
I’m not so sure. Pork chops could be edging it.
Heading to Publix right now for Thick cut pork chops! Dammit man!
I'm not a fan of ole cowboy Kent, but I do listen when the Backwoods Gourmet does a review.👍🏻
He is kind of an actor.
😂precisely my thinking as well. I almost put cowboy in quotes when I wrote my comment. Lol.
Is the Seminole swamp seasoning better than Everglades heat? I really like the Everglades seasoning never tried the Seminole seasoning
I like both, but Seminole has less salt and Mrs Backwoods is salt sensitive.
Im fixing to drop a ribeye steak and mushrooms in my stargazer
We have the same dog. "Sniffles".
I would like to know how I can get a cast iron pot with the legs on it.Yes also I like to try that swamp season for free.Yes I check out your videos all the time.I love seafood.
I want one !...................I would love to make your dish, replacing peaches with chiles. We like hot your precious makes me want one,.......I would also like to taste your swamp spice since we have no swamps here. Also if it has cayenne then I will pass, otherwise I WOULD make a puffer fish extremely jealous.
