    @Thunderchicken69@Thunderchicken696 жыл бұрын
  • Depends if you can do the work - your coursework likely won't have much on design and common practices, but you'll certainly understand the necessary concepts. Besides - the worst they can say is no. Disclaimer: They really do like people with previous internship experience or work in engineering-oriented teams such as SAE, so you'll definitely have your work cut out for you if you don't have experience.

  • I see a lot of people providing negative feedback to this. I understand that there are drawbacks to every career. However, my priorities lie elsewhere than the majority of complaints posted in reviews. As long as I can live comfortably, as well as have an opportunity to continue to learn I am in. I'm currently a mobile emergency MV power generation instrumentation and automation technician in the US Army Corps of Engineers. I am transitioning from the Army in about a year. I am working on my EE bachelors. I plan on applying for internships as soon as possible. SpaceX HR, I would be thrilled to hear from you. You'll be seeing my resume soon as I transition Nov. 2017.

  • Before you are so eager to work there, read the reviews of what it is like to work there. It is the sweatshop of aerospace companies.

    @SuperPowerKiwi@SuperPowerKiwi8 жыл бұрын
    • +SuperPowerKiwi Seems salary is an issue. As one reviewer put it: Relatively low, and it stays low. Depending where one is working, it could be quite the burden. On the other hand, one can walk out learning a lot if they are self motivated and can cut through the BS.

      @itsnotallrainbowsandunicor1505@itsnotallrainbowsandunicor15058 жыл бұрын
    • Paul Bevillard And immature management issues, wrong quality hierarchy, extreme workhours. the list can get long

      @SuperPowerKiwi@SuperPowerKiwi8 жыл бұрын
    • Well, it's a company with an eager mission. When you want to do something that most say is impossible, you're going to bust your ass non-stop. If you truly enjoy engineering you will love it, if you just want to be an engineer for the money then you'll have to find a less eager company.

      @ibrahimh.2828@ibrahimh.28287 жыл бұрын
    • Perhaps, but the two must not always be related. You can still have good and mature management, a LOGICAL chain of command, and paid overtime. That has nothing to do with enthusiasm, that has to do with work ethics. Having immature management, love intrigues etc that make the social atmosphere childish, which is alot of the complaints, is something else entirely

      @SuperPowerKiwi@SuperPowerKiwi7 жыл бұрын
    • If you want to have a cozy aerospace job where you just make lots of money sitting at a desk go work for Boeing or something like that. SpaceX might not pay as well, but you're going to be directly working with hardware that flies in space and furthering technology with the goal of getting to Mars, so there's that.

      @karbon9703@karbon97038 жыл бұрын
    • +Zambia95 What are you doing in those 60-80 hours. If its full on then fair enough that's really brutal but if for a lot of that time your at the bar on stand by or playing on an Xbox while weighting for something to compile software to lode or something to cool down or maybe set for carbon fibre before you can get back to work then its not so bad then a lot of it would be more like being on call.

As you can see from the video, alot of the interns at SpaceX are involved in extracurricular engineering design teams that take what theories and principles are taught in the classroom, and apply them to real life engineering issues.

When I used to have money I buy them a new iPad every Xmas.. but now I see them pretty much ahead of their peers . Had my kids have the opportunity to be discovered the sky is the limits for them and not at all in their mom to claim such thing but they are very up there with normality type of kids . Some kids when they too smart they be come a bit uhm something not normal of them n I wouldn’t want my kids to be like that so I never push them to rush through schools but have them enjoy it bc there no rush . I don’t think someone 14 yrs of age n discovered to a genius can do well in later years than a child just go to grade schools n learn all the basics . I always believed get all that basics in then everything become naturally easy and you won’t struggles as much when things get complex

  • Intention was this, but now you are stuck with bunch of foreign investment and single you not employed is not a problem for presidents. It's education institution success story, how you learned and got accepted into best work place you possibly could imagine. But 😓 now you don't have to go to school anymore your dreams have been fulfilled and you can sit all day on a porch watching sunset.
