I was expecting to see a horror show from their goalie after reading some of the comments on here but I'd only blame her for the first goal and she was slightly let down by her team mates there.
I agree. And even the first goal, two defenders were closer to the loose ball and stood watching.
Carters goal was class.

Fantastic game, and the Lionesses are ruthless, superb debut from Grace, Beth Mead is unstoppable, she's such a class player, so glad to see Leah back where she belongs, and no stopping Rachel at the end there, such a class performance by all. What a great game. I love the England ladies. Lionesses rule

This shows the big problem with women’s football and women’s sport in general. There is such a gulf in class between the countries that have been fully professional for many years and those that either still aren’t or have only recently become. How many times do you see England’s women beating another side by a similar score? Makes a mockery of it.
austria are a pretty decent team that played terribly… you could say the same about the men’s playing smaller/less football playing nations or just… worse teams. lionesses usually get big shorelines as the qualification process for tournaments has them playing the most random countries ever. the new process is much more competitive ps. england women played their first international game two years after austria soooo
We only beat Austria 1-0 in the first game of the euros that we ended up winning…we also beat Norway and Sweden by impressive margins at the euros despite them being fully professional teams. This was just a very bad day at the office for Austria. They’re definitely missing wienrotter
It was the same in men's football in the beginning. England used to beat countries like Norway and Finland 10-0.

@richard6440 It's not my opinion that women's national teams are beaten by children, It's fact. As for when I grow up. I spent 14 years in the parachute regiment and reached the rank of sergeant. I was medically discharged after sustaining a back injury. I completed tours in Northern Ireland, I served in the Falklands campaign and the first Gulf War. After serving in the army , I attended university and obtained a 2.1 degree in pure mathematics. Is that grown up enough for you?

@@manuelrodriguez2637 England beat Spain in the Euros. Spain beat England in the World Cup. In the Nations league, in their Division , every team beat, and lost to, every other team. ( Except Scotland. ) So yes, the NL did beat England. They also lost to them. So did the Belgians. Who finished third and had two play off games against Hungary , to stay in Div A. England finished equal top of Div A on points with the NL , and lost by a GD of one. Aren't facts lovely? :)

Would be boring if any team was. Spain and England are currently ranked 1st and 2nd in Fifa. You could say the same about any of the top 5 or 6 teams. :)

Women's football is shocking, don't misunderstand me it's just the thing to cheer one up because it's so bad it's hilarious. But I do object to it being televised at prime time on a major network.

Austria scored twice and the lionesses hit straight back, the only negative thing was two goals conceded but I suppose if score 7 at the other what's 2 lol
