Mercedes why are your lights a harsh blue white? Why LED? Why not at least an orange light? I used to like your cars but now it is hard to be outside with so many manufacturers making these things.
Sometimes, I really do feel that some cars have a soul. That really is a beautiful machine, and a heroic driver. Thank you for this.
I am very grateful to have seen this masterpiece a true piece of automotive art
To be honest the Mercedes 300 slr is one of my favorite Mercedes
We understand that! 😊

thank you for being honest with us

Mercedes made the first car ever in history and was the best through the past time and still the best and will still be the best for ever. love you Mercedes.❤
We love the love! Thank you!
based lmao
Whoa!!! Mercedes Benz has been proving that it is the best, right from past ! And that's an on going legacy ! Congrats team Mercedes Benz ! Always the best or nothing !!!
Almost certainly Moss' greatest race. Back in pre-sponsorship days, great racing drivers participated in many different events, not just F1. Of course, Moss was helped enormously by Jenks.
Stirling Moss said that mercedes were the most "British "of all the foreign marques. Their love for Britain is etched in history..........Seaman in the 1930's, Moss in the 1950's and Hamilton and Russell at present. Even the regeneration of the old brooklands race track for their new mercedes Benz world. And Stirling Moss, one of their favourite sons!
Lol, imagine uttering the sheer childish and tantric Hamilton in the same sentence as Moss. What a joke.
@@Kronos0999 That's what money does to you, bud👍

Let me just say I really appreciate when you do stuff like this. Pulling out classic archival footage, creating wonderful tributes like this. Perfect mix of education and entertainment. Much love, Mercedes!
Here we go, I'm all emotional now, needed that bit of magic today. Thank you. ✌️❤️🇳🇿
A true gentleman driving the finest car in the world.
A great hero of everyone that loves motorsport admired, if not worshipped. Driving a car on skinny tyres (by today’s standards) on public roads, with no electronic assistance, and at that average speed, attests to his skilfulness and courage. A true, British lion, that makes every Brit proud.
Not only British people he makes proud! 😉
This is a great video about a great moment in motorsports. Averaging nearly 100 mph for 1000 miles on regular roads is amazing, a terrific accomplishment for Moss and his often-overlooked navigator, Denis Jenkinson. And also overlooked is that Fangio came second, only 32 minutes back, having driven the race alone! Of course in another 300SLR...
Totally agree, remarkable and something that we in the modern age could never do due to safety. And having a co-driver, Moss and Jenkinson used pace notes as seen in rally which was rarely used. Bearing Fangio of all drivers is a skill in itself.
Beautiful video and celebration of a great car and great driver.
What a classic Mercedes! Love it ❤️
Mercedes still makes the best cars in the world.
Absolutely beautiful car. Would love to see it in person!
Great idea! Why don’t you come see it at the Mercedes-Benz Museum? 😉
amazing and fitting tribute to a true legend of motorsport both the man and the car
He truly deserves it, Paul! 💫 😊
Absolute pleasure working on this video with INP Media! Wow what a great production this is!
I really wish they would put this much pedigree, style and beauty in their current cars.
Thank you Mercedes.. Much respect.. fabulously shot video.. May 2022 bring you continued success in motorsport!
Thank you very much! We wish you all the best in 2022 as well. ✨
We will win in 2022.
Fantastic film and incredible around that 3:38 mark .... goose bumps .....thank you Mercedes Benz, Sir Stirling Moss and Jenks
Great driver who deserved his Knighthood !
Terrific! People need to be reminded of the 300 SL/SLR history and the accomplishments of Sir Sterling!
Stirling Moss
Good old days!
For British aristocracy & corporate Fascism, yes.
It's amazing how many times that the British have conquered Germany!
I just fall in love with the original Stirling moss, I only saw the "new one" but.... I'm speechless. What a piece of art. I loved it, the video too.
absolute stunning and joy to watch . So much history and no one can change that
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR = REAL BEAST!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 That "722" concept is just..............................................AMAZING!!!!!🤩🤩😁 Keep it up Mercedes-Benz!!👏🏻👏🏻 The best or nothing!!
It's not a concept but a real racing legend, Rishik! You can find out more about it here: mb4.me/1O5pikqI. We're glad you loved the video!
This car is the most beautiful racing car of the history.
We absolutely agree with you. It’s a dream on four wheels!
@@MercedesBenz I respect all your great champions like Fangio or Hamilton, but for me the performance of Sir Stirling is the greatest performance at the wheel of a Mercedes. Not only the beauty and the shape of this car is iconic, but also the performance of Sir Stirling with the help of Denis Jenkinson is legendary too !
My dream car 😍😍
Beautiful dream! 😊
RIP Mossy. Silver Hatch will never be the same without you. Race on!!! 🏎

He was a true gent,a fantastic ambassador for Mercedes-Benz.We will never see his like again.....
This is definitely a good way to get around town
Simply Amazing!
The 300 SLR, The C11 and the w11 are the mightiest most dominante cars in Mercedes history and probably of all
I offer my toast to a great car and an even greater driver. That straight eight with desmodromic valves and twin cams has to be the most exotic engine ever. Just like the 300SL Gullwing is the greatest supertourer of all time, the 300SLR 722 is the greatest racecar of all time.
I like the P4!
@@shabbos-goy9407 that is amazing too but it doesn't have the sheer technical sophistication of the 300SLR. 330 is just a massive old lucas injected V12 with a conventional chain valvetrain.
@@thehumanoid6543 I agree that the P4 is a more agricultural machine. But its styling is off the scale sublime. The 300SL is a lorry. The rear swing axle is poor and it has only a 4 speed box. Greatest super tourer? Save for its injection it's not particularly "out there". It was cobbled together. A parts bin special. A good one but nothing more.
@@shabbos-goy9407 lorry? And yes, its swing axle, and yes it's basically a 300d adenauer, but have you seen what they created with what little they had? Its the german way. The 356 started as a beetle with a sexy body and later went on to destroy everything else in scca, mile, 'ring, etc. And yes, it is a supertourer. It comfortably carries you at high speed. That's the definition. And that "injection" is a very big deal. It literally is a direct injection engine from the 1950's, a formula that came to road cars about 45 years later. And yes, the P4 does look breathtakingly gorgeous, but the only way to enjoy it is on a track like spa. The 300sl's beauty is that because it's a dry sumped engine and the car has good brakes for what it is, you can go the track with your 300sl in total comfort, and then beat the hell out of it and have fun, and then go back home. It's one of the best do-it-all cars of all time. And don't even get me started on the SLR. Thing had desmodromic valves and revved to 9k in the 50's. Basically a prewar silver arrows engine in a endurance car.
@@thehumanoid6543 The 300SLR was on drums whilst the D type was on discs. Probably the reason for the LeMans disaster. The injection system may have been a first but big deal. It was on ME109's years before. I've driven both the 300SL Roadster and the Coupe and they are pretty agricultural. I prefer a 356 Speedster TBH. Ferrari 166MM's etc were delicate but gorgeous But. Mercedes is (or was) the finest engineered machines of their time. The quality was superlative.
What an informative piece of history.
We are happy that you appreciated it! This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful pages of our history. 😊

Driving a real race car in a city has its charm. Some years ago, in the heart of Munich, a noise heard never before hit my eardrums. Slowly a Jag E-type came closer. No doubt a racing car. Colored in dirty English Racing Green, sporting a huge numer across its hood, and above all, a tiny windscreen custom-tailored to the driver´s ears. The driver wore a dirty mechanic´s suit. Rolling by at maybe 3mp/h, he suddenly stopped, cut the engine, wormed himself out of the car, grabbed a big watering can and entered a nearby cafe apparently asking for water. When back he opened the radiator, filled it up and reentered the cockpit. The engine reluctantly sprang to life and he was headed for the sunset. - The weirdest thing was the driver´s behaviour. He didn´t give a dam for the stunned audience around him. He was as cool as can be.
Mercedes is my favourite brand since I now what a car is
Great guy
Super cool
Weltklasse!

Stirling Moss was perhaps the greatest driver to never win the world championship. A true driver of extraordinary talent. Edit: It was brought to my attention that I misspelled Stirling so I corrected it.
It's STIRLING not currency!🏁

A lovely tribute! I own a Mercedes Gullwing… a 1:18 scale model!🤣 My absolute favourite car of all time. I actually got to sit in one in Germany about 8 years ago at a car rally, & then a few later to talk to an owner of one here in rural Victoria, Australia.🤤😍😎🇦🇺👍🏼
Lucky you, Andrew! How did you feel when you saw it live for the first time?
@@MercedesBenz I was early 50’s but I was just like that kid in a lolly shop!😱😍🤤 Amazing surreal experience! The one I sat in Germany was owned by a millionaires & was then valued at something like 1.5 million Euros!😱
Surely these are unforgettable experiences that you will always carry in your mind and heart! We are very happy for you. 😊
@@MercedesBenz Thanks for saying that & very true! As simple as it sounds, each time I look at my Gullwing model in the display cabinet I reminisce about that day! I’ve been to Germany some 5 times since 1990 & my good German mate Juergen lives in Olching with his wife & kids. That’s another story! My late father had a 1973 Mercedes SLC350 which he loved! Cheers from Australia 🍻
The Star is definitely in your destiny, Andrew! Cheers back to you! 😊
Straight 8😍😍😍
Easily the most beautiful auto ever built...
Thank you for making great videos like that without any liberal propaganda. It feels refreshing.
If I had one of those to drive to work ............. I wouldn't mind driving to work.
It would be a dream every day! 🤩
I might buy the car when I grow up
Whoever did the “finesse” bits on this must have been a Brit of a certain age… 2:20 on the police bike fairing “who do you think you are, Stirling Moss?” That’s isn’t just made up. I missed it by a generation, but then I did get “who do you think you are, Barry Sheene?” In the late 70’s on my 750 Suzuki. And now I ride BMW and drive Mercedes - it must be a subliminal thing from my childhood. So huge congrats to Mercedes for taking the time and effort to organise this One Last Blast and god bless the bike coppers, they have a thankless task and here’s their time to shine in reflected glory of a great man and a great marque.
Incredible video... although I'm left wondering what watch it is at 3:03
300 SLR... The world's first car with active aero. For those who don't know, the car was equipped with a driver activated speed brake on some variants, most famously for LeMans (assist the brakes coming off of the straights like the 4 mile Mulsanne, and more importantly, keep them cool).
This should of been filmed in Italy.
you miss the point...

Where is the renntransporter??
I took screenshots of this second 03:06
The cars of today have a lot of technology packed like AI, ML, OTA...but very few have them the durability, the engineering advancement of the cars of the old days...The cars of the old days had pure engineering in them like increasing the drum size, the suspension systems...and so on...I have seen 50 year old cars being driven still but nowadays even 2 year old cars are not starting...
What is the background music?

That time Mercedes has luxus and quality in high level, Not like today with plastic door panels in A,B,C, GLE,GLS AND E COUPE
1:19 now thats what i call a warpaint
what watch brand is that?
really a let down they didnt let it stretch its legs for real before putting it away. just a relaxing drive.
It's old It would probably hurt the engine and chassis if they do so
