    • ​@@mikiafu generally but not if its a kyrgios doubles match just so you know Channel 9 were airing the Nadal vs Shapavalov match on TV and I think 2 games in it got replaced by Kyrgios/Kokkinakis doubles match. Think that should tell you how strong their viewership is.....

  • Kyrgios/Kokkinakis is reliving the "Jensen Brothers" era, back in the 90s. For a modality which is often despised as doubles, doubles players must invest on being charismatic players who can engage the crowd like the Aussies are doing. Maybe the modality has to be approached as a team sports....

  • Kyrgios is turning this into a freak show. Kokkinakis is playing a good and calm game. Kygrios is disrespectful to the opponents. Cheering and getting the crowd going is a good thing, they're the home boys, but why all the extra? If I could support Kokkinakis to win the trophy by himself I'd totally do it.

  • It seems like nick and kokkinakis are both major underachievers. Nick is constantly injured and kokkinakis is still playing qualifiers. They are not young anymore

  • Only issue I have is assholes calling out between first/second serve and/or during the serving motion of opponents, the rest is rather refreshing to a relatively mundane competition, tennis doubles. Nice to see some life injected into the game, if the other Grand Slams can do the same then I think the game is all the more better for it.

  • There’s a simple rule that would make double matches more watchable: members of a doubles team should be citizens of the same country. No mix countries, no exemptions. Unlike this match, most double matches are a side show to the main attraction (singles). Add patriotism to the mix and doubles becomes a show on its own.

  • SMH. The most unorthodox and unexpected doubles run in the history or tennis history. Heck of a show though. If they really get serious about doubles and form a good doubles strategy and formula they could win many trophies.

    • only problem is there is absolutely no money in doubles, which wouldn't be a problem for Krygios as he makes heaps in sponsorship but Kokkinakis wouldn't be able to commit fully to it atleast yet.
