$2300 ? who the heck is buying these things?
Cmon, just spring for it. 😆 🤣 😂 they make lower priced ones. Our other one was $200 and its good too.
I also saw that, crazy. We have a 4,000 sq.ft. home and use a Deco mesh system with no issues with over 20 devices connected with no issues Cost was less than 10% of that.
Yep a bit pricey.
No one. lol
Well, if one can afford a 10,000 square-foot house they can certainly afford a $2300 mess system. 😊
Jennnnnnnnnn Back 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ... We all been missing Jen 😁
Did wifey just say who knows what you do ? 😂
Haha we have a house full of boys. We've got a pretty good idea😂
I just bought this setup. Excited to install it once it arrives. I still have the first obi RBK50 from 2016 and it still works great. I’m just over 900 mbps download from Comcast with that setup. The problem with this review is that the Orbi app that he’s using to test the speed from outside is misleading. The orbiting app only test the speed from the ISP to the router so you know if your getting what you pay for. If you’re outside then you have to use a third party speed test app to test coverage and speed of the WiFi signal from the router/satellite. Let not forget the modem. First, You need a modem that is capable of delivering the ISP speed to this router.
Negative. The phone was in airplane mode and was the actual orbi app test speed. Connected the entire time only to that network.
He mentions in an old orbi video that their app speed tester is over inflated to look better. but im sure this video is sponsored so he cant say that again. but yeah its not as fast as the app says. Its like those mpg stickers on cars. 30 city 40 highway, yeah in a airplane hanger on a dyno machine. take it out on the actual road. Your results will vary.
Nice review keep up the good work B the Installer
Insanely over priced. No way, no how. My google wifi mesh system has been doing great for years. I'd sooner put that $2,300 budget towards a serious tv upgrade for a home theater set up.
same here. "hey honey i got this new orbi system. but bad news you gotta eat top ramen for the rest of the month. but you can google .00004 seconds faster."
Thx for the video. I have the Nighthawk. The dunk was impressive 👍
Haha, on a short rim... thanks.
I love your videos!
BTheInstaller, if do have a tv that is hard connected for gaming I hope you have tried a Lan to usb 3.0 and plugged it into the usb 3.0 port. Even more speed! Great review!!! I use the orbi 970,it's really a great system. B, NEXT time save the plastic for the wife😅
Make use of powerline or MOCA adapters (coaxial) to get them ethernet wired instead of having them connected wirelessly, tends to be more reliable that way
The power line ones are not dependable and prone to interference and noise issues
MOCA is the way to go if you can't run Ethernet cables through your house. I just installed a mesh system in a 6500 sq ft house using this method and each router was getting gigabit speeds. It won't affect your cable TV signal either since it operates on a different frequency band than cable.
@@BenLeonard79 word and if one is has fiber internet and watch TVs and whatno through that, their coaxials through their home is just free networking basically lol
Curious what model phone you were using for the speed tests? Great video as always!
Does this router have the SFP port or do you have to bridge your Internet providers router with this?? I have AT&T fiber, Internet, and the ONT box I have is connected to their router by the SFP port. I’m trying to choose between this and the TP link Wi-Fi 7 rout.
I wonder if this will work with Cox Internet. I really want to upgrade to this.
Love the video guys, the price will come down.
Deco Mesh System about 10 percent of the price and is excellent for large homes! Dont waste money on this !
I don't think the Deco has the scale this does. We had a solid Deco and the speed and coverage was far below.. we had a hard time covering 1000sq ft with the $150 price point. I got the first orbi there and it basically 3x the coverage and had better consistent coverage. Still they have come a long way too and there are less expensive orbis too. My old orbi was like $250+ or so
10% of the price ? Stop the B.S. DECO BE95 is 1000$ (pack of 2) where as Orbi 970 is 1700$. So if my maths are correct DECO is 60% of the price not 10% And DECO BE95 is not as good as Orbi 970
I know this is a sponsored ad/video...but man...this is hurtin' your credibility. No one will spend this much on a router unless of course it had the Apple logo on it LOL
My Linksys mesh 2023 is good for me 💯
Pretty sure the Orbi app only does a speed test to the satellite, not to your phone. I’ve tried the standalone app in the phone and have more expected results. Maybe they’ve changed that but I’m sure you still get plenty of speed out there with something like this, even if you lose half you’re still in good shape
Good to know. Thanks
Expensive wow😊
Jen and the Holograms!
I live outside the US and have to be able to load a VPN onto my router for the whole house. Is this possible with this router with the subscription that you get free for the first year. Also do you loose a lot of speed from using it? Thanks a million
Hi B the installer. Thanks for the review. How is the stability of the system? Any drops or "just" rock solid?
It's very strong and consistent. Many people don't realize the ISP is half the equation but if you have fast internet, this will max it out in speed for tons of devices and offer superior distance
I like the look of it no external antennas.
As an internet technician, even if you live in a mansion no one needs this system. There is way cheeper options. This is a sponsor video, he’s just making so money. Good for him!
$10k for a pre-wire and then pay for the access points and switches... There are less expensive orbis though for sure.
I have Orbi , next time I want a mesh that will hook up hard wired to wireless pods. I have Ethernet in every room
Jen is a beauty, doesn´t matter to have wi-fi or a big tv , stunned by her, pay attention to what matters B
good video by the way but what are the tvs that support wifi 7 ?
I believe even phones don't support wifi 7 yet. But they will soon and to download 8k content may require something this fast. But when you talk about 50+ devices, all on wifi at same time, you're just looking for max speed whether it's wifi6 or 6e or 7 and strong coverage from a good mesh system
GigaBIT 😊
I’m curious what your IsP is and what speed you pay for would really help a lot of people.
We have COX comm and its lime 1GB down but says 40MBPS up... we pay like $150 for unlimited which is just a racket TBH
Can you feel the Jenergy?
This is an amazing product but well ahead of its time. Most ppl do NOT need this. Including this guy's house. This did almost nothing over a 3-400$ setup. 1gig in with a fiber line is the bare minimum unless you are running an in home media server with top-tier hardware. AKA a 10 to 12k starting setup.
As I stated before $2,400 buck move the dam rim closer to house get a reg mesh system for a hell of a lot cheaper
Does this work in an apartment with concrete walls?
It would work as well as any wifi.. just depends on how thick and where the satellites sit.
Dude, did you just Spaceballs it?
Yes , You have to be crazy to spend over two grand for this product. I have a regular spectrum router and it reaches way in my one acre back yard no problem. Take that money and buy a new TV.
Haha yes. But.. I love these mesh systems. I've been in huge houses that absolutely need better wifi and it's a pain to go back and hard wire a system with APs everywhere. And it's normally more complicated.
Welp, @btheinstaller, that didn't last long. TPLink Deco BE95's Mesh system has 33Gbps using their own Quad-Band technology. lol. Good review though. I'm a MASSIVE WiFi 7 router fan. A TRUE step up in WiFi technology compared to the tiny difference WiFi 6E made over WiFi 6. Thumbs up from me! *edit: "True Step UP" not "True Setup UP". Who talks like that anyway? lol
Eh.. will like to see it. I've yet to find a system that has the speed and coverage Orbis do.
@@BTheInstaller it's very new but I'm sure you will see it soon enough.
So large, and apparently so expensive!
Bro this WiFi costs the same as an OLED TV 😂
What's the asking price for it
$2,399. Easy. Haha. It's ludicrous as I said
Unfortunately those device's transmit radiation and I moved repeaters out of my office. 10 hours a day near one is probably not good over time.
I hope not. I don't like the way dentists shoot Xrays every time I walk in either. Lol
Hi Guys, that's misleading information with regards to your speed test via WiFi. The test you showed in cul-de-sac is connection to the router and not your phone over WiFi. So not a real world WiFi range test.
Really you need a new basketball hoop just saying!!!
That thing is trash. The acrylic addition has bent the backboard down to be unusable. But not buying a new one til we move.
Your eyes are not on camera---probably lying
I'm not sure what that means.. I can't show b-roll if my eyes are on cam... ask any question you like. I don't make it a habit to lie on youtube. Pretty easy to disprove lies
Yeah, no. $2,300 out of their damn tree.
As a installer..I am not a fan of them ..I would rather use eeros and I hate Amazon..
Eero has far less range. The Orbi has always been the best for range and speed.
Useless to buy this système when you only have a 1 gbps connection. This system need a 5 gbps connection at least otherwise a Orbi 960 is enough
Kinda pointless as wired backhaul is the best to use regardless of wireless. Ethernet is always better.
Move the rim closer over priced I’ll wait for Black Friday 2029 for price to lower lol not many devise have Wifi 6 or 7 capabilities
🌞 is the other way and its downhill to our house. But yes that's not the main concern. Was just an example. This is a future proof system. But definitely a high price for today's devices. Mostly helps with those who have 200 devices like we do in a large area
LOL @ price and them wanting additional paid subscriptions ..... and NOT have proper wired backhaul ....Asus Mesh much much much better
