Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset puts digital information in your real world. But how does it fit into your daily life with activities like working, watching Apple TV, cooking and FaceTiming?
WSJ’s Joanna Stern attempted to wear it for 24 hours straight-including on the ski slope.

Everything is now a tech thing. In creative and humorous videos, WSJ senior personal tech columnist Joanna Stern explains and reviews the products, services and trends that are changing our world.

So, you're telling me that I can ski on a dangerous mountain and watch my favourite movie at the same time??? AWESOME!
Unless they implement the feature where if you're moving too fast it turns off stuff (ala how carplay won't let you use apps thru siri)
Technically yes. I wouldn’t advise it.
And do work at the same time and time your pasta to get the perfect Al dente when you get back to the cabin
It won’t save you from falling that is the beauty of this product.
I could see someone's love one getting addicted to this already, thank goodness it's too expensive to mass produce it to the general population 😅
This is giving me the vibes of early 2010s when new tech was arriving and people used to curiously test it 😂
Just like the early 80's, 90's and the early 00's - new tech has always been arriving in the consumer market.
Your comment is giving me vibes of bot commenting.

@@SuperKREPSINIS Mostly AR
@@andresbarriga5305 not even ar
@@SuperKREPSINISperfect AR…other headsets suck
@@SuperKREPSINIS remember when meta tried to get people to go to work in VR? well.... apple is gonna invent that first too.
The fact that no one is complaining about lag, resolution, dizzyness etc. is amazing.
a lot of people are complaining about video quality, because let's be honest, camera's just aren't the future for AR. But for VR, the latency, resolution and refresh-rate are almost perfect. People do get dizzy and uncomfortable because of the weight of the headset tho. It's capabilities are also pretty much limited to entertainment, work or stuff like cooking, which is cool, but nobody would spend much money on that, other than rich people. I'd love to see more attempts at maximizing comfort and clarity, over fancy features. The bigscreen beyond for example is such an incredible headset and would actually be wearable for long periods of time without any strain, and that's coming from a small company. Yes it's vr only, and requires a pc. But nailing the basics is how people stay interested and makes it more useable now, rather than just in the future.
The cameras are awful and make this near worthless for ar
these are also paid advertisements. The real consumer hasn't tried it yet. These "reviews" are boring because they just regurgitate the same thing the last person said and what the companies want them to say. These reviewers also want apple to keep sending them products to "review".

This was a really well done tech review. WSJ, you gotta keep Joanna for every tech video you do, she does a way better job than what the tech reviews at other publications or even KZhead provide. THIS is the kind of pragmatic review I'm looking for: experience based-not just reading off facts from the box.
Absolutely agree!
My favorite no nonsense review of the Vision Pro I’ve seen yet.
The timers over the stove was my favorite part. No joke.
That is just the beginning. A lot of incoming new Apps actually utilise spatial room like this, mixing AR into reality.

But they say you shouldn’t cook with it on so what even is the point

Among the plethora of independent Tech KZheadrs, Joanna is making solid strides with her tech-reviews while being part of a major publication. Shes winning me over to watch her reviews over many other “brochure reading reviewers”. Huge kudos to her and her team for actually skiing or chopping veggies while wearing these.
I mean, what’s wrong with independent tech youtubers?
because you are independent, you tend to be more safe as to not loose access to your apple card to get invite to events and other stuff. when you are reviewer for major media publication house you can be unbaised and not care about being on apple good sides, which which most early reviews from youtubers are very safe and not critical of the product@@galvanprime

Yeah but even then I'd eventually just stop using it and use cheaper and more practical methods to do the same thing without having to have any sort of contraption on my head.
You can do the same thing cheaper and more affordable. Most stoves have a timer built in.
You’re not supposed to. The steam will eventually warp the outer shell of the headset
You can also do this with quest 3, there’s videos of people doing it on KZhead
The timers feature on my stove is far superior even though the stove itself twice as cheap as the vision pro.

This is the first review I’ve seen from her and already she’s my favorite. Great delivery. And incredibly insightful. Forced her to find ways to do daily tasks and see the potential and downfalls of it when integrating into daily living. I can’t imagine anyone else doing that. Indeed!
You do understand that vr is not a new thing. For example meta quest seems to me way more functional and advanced. No need for power bank as battery, you can use any power bank as extra battery.
